  1. Nice styling, sweet fitment, all the lows and actually being used in anger, why are there not more 350Z's like this in the UK? Looking forward to seeing it in action sometime soon
  2. I used to run 265/10 and then 255/10 on the front of mine and it handled like a dream, I wouldnt want to go much wider though. 19x9.5 will be fine
  3. 2 TVR's, an RX7 and a Lotus? Id take at least 8 tow ropes as well, just to be sure.
  4. For the record the biggest cowboy dealer Ive come into contact with in recent years had Ferraris, Porsches and a 275GTB in his showroom. Didnt stop him trying to stitch me up though As others have said, straight back to the dealer and get them to sort or refund, no question.
  5. I own an aviation/motorsport recruitment company mate, cant guarantee anything but send me a cv to alex@eceltechnicalconsulting.com and Ill see what I can do
  6. And your gearbox, clutch, diff, suspension, brakes? A long way from £5500 when its done ........... this is a massive bargain, spec list is all there and it could go for another 30K miles like that. Never thought Id see the name SE Nissan again, definitely not as a positive point on an advert
  7. Dont do what a mate of mine is currently doing as well - relationship hadnt been great for a while as they are going in different directions in life and she moves back from their joint owned house to her folks after a couple of big rows. Saw him the other day and he said that they had agreed to go on a holiday together and buy a new 3 piece suite. I said "oh, thats brilliant mate, when is she moving back in?". He says "she isnt, not yet anyway". So youre banging out money on a holiday and a new sofa but she is still staying at her folks? Mug.
  8. I think he decided bimmers were a bit boring looking. Anyway, an e82 135i kicks E92 M3 ass
  9. Much as hate agreeing with Ekona I think hes right, youre looking for a 911. Fast, good looking, reliable, quality - the same could be said of the Cayman but dont hold the same cache. Apart from I dont really like the way 911's drive None of the Beemers are really head turning cars (maybe the M6 or Z4 I guess), thought about a mental power Skyline or Supra?
  10. Been there, done this, many T-shirts .......... First thing - you mention fuel, how important is that to you? An M5/M6's fuel consumption would make an Arab cry, the 63 Merc engines are also horrifically bad (mainly as you keep your foot in for the noise) No matter how much people say "fuel doesnt matter" 13mpg everywhere gets very tired, very quickly. At the other end of the scale the N54/N55 BMW's (1, 3, Z4) can see 35mpg+ on a run and I dont think the TTRS is far off that either. You also mention too big, which is a subject very close to my heart - I moved away from the 350 because I felt it was too heavy for what it was and I adore my MR2 for the same reason. If youre genuinely bothered by size and weight a 135i is 200kg and noticeably smaller than an E92 M3 which in itself is 200KG and noticeable smaller than the M5 and M6. The Z4M and TT are similar in size to the 1er and a Porsche Cayman is a positive lightweight and built like a ballerina compared to the rest. IMO 911's are always worth a look as people love them or hate them, if its the former then do a buy, and IMO its pretty difficult to look past a TVR for "special", they are amazing if totally impractical More information required - whats the most important aspect of the car for you and how much do weight, fuel economy, handling and reliability matter?
  11. Hate to say it man, but the reason you broke up was that you werent meant to be together. The sooner you move on the longer you will have with the right girl, although it hurts to start with very few people regret breakups in the long term, they are almost always for the best
  12. I used a bankers draft last time round, the seller took it to the bank, they confirmed it was OK and everyone was a winner.
  13. they arent heavy though dude, and unbeatable at that money with aforementioned flying pig/unicorn intervention
  14. Theres always one ......... oh well, 70 mph and every corner in 3rd gear max from now on, right? As for your MV Agusta explanation, I think thats very unlikely, everyone knows that if youre heading that way you buy a Maloo and a Ducati: Yes, that is for real, he was on the way to the Nurburgring .......... the man is a genuine legend.
  15. As gangzoom says, the N54 was rock hard - they have seen over 800 whp on an unopened block, it was the ancillaries that let it down. And yes, I have an N54 Big fan of the M235i as well, I think I would probably have gone for the Autobox over the manual (I drove both) which is something I never thought Id say on a RWD sportster. I held off buying one as the depreciation was always going to be a killer, the M2 is turning my head again now though
  16. Did you stay in the hotel? Nice place, Id definitely head back and views over the lake are awesome
  17. I got bored with mine, even though I was using it a lot on track - they are just a bit heavy and a bit underpowered to stay properly exciting forever, I did seriously consider FI or a V8 conversion though but even then they are getting a bit long in the tooth. For pure smiles while driving our Mk3 MR2 has always been better than the Zed and there are a lot of others that the same could be said about too, hell, I smile more in my P38 Range Rover than I did in the 350. Like Ekona says, unlike wives you arent expected to have the same one forever, and you can always come back if you miss it - go play the field a bit
  18. Dont agree? Think hes talking rubbish personally. I hire a lot of cars and theres a reason that they tend to be BMW, Audi or Mercedes rather than Subaru or Mazda - heres a clue, its not the performance. Imprezas look like ass inside and out (if thats style than Ill happily be unstylish) and while the Mazda is a damn fine car its nowhere near the quality of ze Germans or Jaguar. ETA: "Style" and "looking different" are two very, very different things or we would all be driving Ssanyongs .......
  19. Agreeing with Col too much these days but youve summed it up for me. What I do wonder is whether enjoyment was reduced by the fact there were only 5-6 teams that were ever going to win it, and if you knew how crap Portugal and England were going to be you could reduce that to 3-4. At least in the World Cup its anybody's game, yes I know Iceland did well but that was more to do with the performance of their opposition than anything else.
  20. Just back from Middle East yesterday and watched the last episode and I have to say that on the whole I really enjoyed the series. Sure, there were some bad parts, like the "challenge" to drive to Blackpool and pretty much anything with EJ in it, but Harris, Rory and even LeBlancs Porsche item last night more than balanced that out for me. Probably posted here before as well but I think Evans was always going to go at end of first series, now we know who the others are we are going to be a lot kinder on them. Looking forward to the next one and more Harris particularly, smashing the only NSX in the world around in the rain like that takes some massive, massive balls.
  21. Its not much of a science? Drifting at 3 figure speeds is more than science. Youre a lot more likely to spin with 650hp than with 300hp, doing it on the road makes it even more difficult. Straight up, if youre that good then get into competition.
  22. Its the English affliction of playing the "names" and not the form, I call it John Barnes syndrome. I counted 5 players out of position last night and Kane taking set pieces is just ridiculous. When he said he was taking Rashford, Kane and Vardy I thought we had finally got away from the old ways (I closed my ears about Wilshere and Sterling) ....... but then he plays Rooney in every game which removes whatever benefit you get from the young guys. We have no defensive general, no idea at all of what the plan was and looked disorganised and unprofessional compared to the smallest team in the tournament. Eddy Jones has just come into the England Rugby set up and in a couple of years has put us back at the top of the world - thats with one personnel change and a couple of positional changes. Its about belief and having a plan, and Roy doesnt/hasnt got either. Biggest gutter for me was that I usually bet against England but couldnt last night due to lack of phone service, at least Id have something to be happy about .......
  23. KLM do, via Amsterdam Thats probably a little optimistic, particularly when the flight will be £1000+
  24. If you deliberately initiated a 4th gear, 100mph+ drift on the road and nailed it then you need to start looking at drift competitions - I did 8 odd years and I doubt I could pull that off ...........
