But this isnt anything to do with Apple, this is the other 99% of manufacturers that chose to stick with "the standard" - USB-C will not go into a Lightning hole and vice versa. Apart from contactless cards, right? OK, I dont want to get Apple vs Droid but this is my current watch: Quite aside from costing less and doing more, see how it actually looks like watch? Thats what Apple need to do, but I doubt they have realised it yet, theyve only had 15 months

Hey, you were the guy that made the massive (incorrect) sweeping statement: Im just showing you that what you said isnt correct, the wheels on my BMW and my MR2 are perfect too. If your wheels are "swiss cheese" "no matter what you do" then they were @*!# to start with, sorry. While Im here I should probably point out that Judd wheels cost about a third what the comparative Rays or Volks would, a set of new 19's for under a grand is not "genuine" money, the set up there cost me about £1800 secondhand. And the kerbing thats on those up there? Done before I bought them, but not made any worse in the years they were on the car. DEEP SIGH

Slightly staggered that Mustang is being mentioned in the same breath as the Cayman and GTR. Having looked at botht eh Cayman was a cheaper prospect to run but thats mainly down to comedy brake and tyre prices for the GTR.
-
Not heard anyone who has driven one with a good thing to say about 4C, though it might be an appreciating classic I suppose. As Ekona has said, 981 Cayman is one of the finest roadcars ever though and would be exactly where Id be looking. By all means try the Lotii out, but for me there is only one choice at that money. Or an M2 in a years time. :o

Absolutely fine IMO, Ive tracked and drifted on far worse and my 306's tyres have been like that for about 2 years
-
Sounds like someone has never run genuine wheels. These badboys were on my car for 45K miles over about 3 years (including winters) and were never refurbed: If you donr go grinding up kerbs every other week and clean them reasonably often theres no reason why they shouldnt last

Proposal permission from future father in law
docwra replied to jimboy2's topic in Off Topic Discussion
If asking for permission is old fashioned, is expecting the brides parents to pay for most of the wedding old fashioned too? If so, Id rather be old fashioned than skint -
Sipar, they are amazing, the Cayman S is probably the best road car Ive driven. Just buy one and dont even consider the money

For football fans. Scary and horrible read.
docwra replied to 350 Russ's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Football is well bent, I know a few decent stories ...... how about the Premiership manager that had an agreement with foreign agents that they would pay him £50K for any player to have a trial? Said player would then return to his homeland worth £100K's more because he had been linked with a Prem club. Another manager who used to insist that every player he signed used his own agent, and would then split the signing fee? -
That is a nice one. I think they are a decent potential investment - I can't see them going much lower at least and the 993's have gone up a lot in the last year. Has to be more sensible than a M135i??? M135i almost certainly, 135i Coupe maybe not - Im convinced that people will wake up to the fact there are less than 1000 RHD N54 engine models (the twin turbo) and prices will start appreciating for decent low milers. There were only 450 UK 1M's and look at their prices ........... More fun and more special than an M135i though, I personally preferred the 996 C4S to the 997S/C4S and that Blue one is lovely

Thats easy: Amazing work on the mole catching though, one day Im going to follow him and probably finish up watching him sleep all day. Been trying to convince him he can take down a deer, I love a bit of Venison me.

1St drive home from dealership and top end is knocking
docwra replied to FA57 BDY's topic in 350Z Technical
And I hate to say it .......... but its probably down to too many people not exercising their rights. Theres a guy on one of the the BMW forums atm who has just bought a dealer car and found it was running on 4, whining from the oil filter, hadnt been serviced despite dealer promising it had and also had a snapped spring. Hes getting it all fixed himself as he got £1000 off what it should have cost. Mental. -
Id say the same about drift training days, much more useful in real life than how to control a car in 4 inches of water at 15mph

Full grown rabbits, pigeons that youd think twice about challenging to a fight and a pheasant once, fortunately he couldnt get that through the catflap, it was about as big as he is

1St drive home from dealership and top end is knocking
docwra replied to FA57 BDY's topic in 350Z Technical
If its that bad take a mechanic with you (and some proof he is a mechanic), let them tell him he doesnt know what hes talking about. Id really, really, really, really, really suggest getting your money back walking away, this sounds worse every time I revisit. -
Fair play, youll notice the braided lines improvement for sure
-
Stop looking at the dull ones then, an M3 is just as much fun as a Z3* and will shift a family around with ease. So will a C63, M135i, S5, A45, even a Golf GTi.

Common sense has prevailed, hallelujah

Our cat Dave knocks off about 15-20 a year I reckon, but never eats them - apparently they taste quite bitter (christ knows who found that one out) What I dont know is how he catches them, hes pretty @*!# at being a cat (cant jump more than about 3 feet in the air, scared of heights, has been known to fall over while walking across lounge), surely he doesnt just sit there and wait all day?
-
I saw a DE 350Z for £4300 the other day. Stick £600 of braided hoses, fluid and decent pads on it, £200 of exhaust and £400 on a remap, add £900 of coilovers and whatever a set of MPSS (R888 if its a track comparison) cost and youre there, they tyres alone would probably be worth 5 seconds on a 1m30 lap. Thats got to be less than half the price of a 370Z, surely? Why start with an HR in the first place, the time gains will come a lot easier from chassis than power.
-
Why not let your family buy the car then? Win/win, they are happy and you an spend your money on something cool
-
You arent allowed to suggest any BMW as someone will be along to tell you "they are all the same" and "how can you find it in a carpark" But yeah, Ive got a 135i, my brother a 123d and the old man a 118d, we were all looking for something practical, smart looking and well built that can be a bit of fun in the twisty bits which seems to be what the OP is after too ........ they are defintiely better drivers cars than Audis or Mercs, as are the E9* 3 series

Considering importing 370Z Nismo from Japan - advice req
docwra replied to hmale4yu's topic in 370z General
And that I can agree with, you can make a better 370Z than a Nismo for the same money. -
1. Why are you changing brake discs? If they are worn, fair enough, if not keep what you have, they are good. M standard setup with Carbon Lorraine pads felt like it was lifting the rear wheels off the ground under heavy braking, astonishing. 2. Braided lines are a must, they do improve performance as the brake pedal is more immediate. 3. Good fluid and pads are more important than discs as these are more likely to compromise performance.
