  1. Good question that - GT86 perhaps? Golf GTi? Certainly not much out there that would come close .......... ahhh, S15 Spec R but even then it probably wouldnt be as good in the bendy bits. Ahhhh, cracked it, the whole class will almost certainly be Clio and Megane RS's. And the Meganes are faaaaast. :o
  2. Just a welded viscous diff bud. I had different wider front wheels than normal on and was trying not to use full lock as the wheels and tyres were rubbing on alot of things so had to grab the wand to scrub the speed off sometimes lol. I learned in my first 450hp z which ended up on its roof lol so this is my second one. Only been drifting a year now Ahhh, becomes clear now, thought it looked a bit strange. If you can do it, a 2 way will make huge amounts of difference over the 3 way, much more progressive and dead easy to take the car past 90 degrees and pull it back again, do you have lock mods as well? I keep seeing very cheap 350's and getting tempted again, I do miss it
  3. What diff you running dude? I was cringing when you were reaching for the wand when you could just wind on more angle - much cooler and faster Nice steering though, Im guessing you didnt learn in a 500hp 350Z
  4. Actually, thats a pretty fair comment, I think Im in the same boat (my brother had an S2K so I got plenty of use of it) - both bloody good cars with slightly different focuses
  5. Different approaches to reach a similar result, they are actually very close on track but the Zed has the edge on the road due to more accessible torque. And lots more of it in the first place I used to say that the S2K was possibly the best car in the world if you drive a racetrack on the way to work - its beautifully balanced, goes well when revved and feels like an extension of the driver more than the Zed .......... but its painful in pissing rain stuck at 50mph behind a lorry. The Zed is a much better every day car thats also very handy when it comes to the twisty stuff. Although the S2K feels a better track car the 350 inspires more confidence, I reckon youll take 30 seconds off the Nordschliefe time as youll be more confirmtable at speed. Going sideways is no contest, the 350 is one of the best out of the box drift cars available and while an S2K is reasonable (I drifted round Spa in a mates one without too much difficulty) it takes an experienced driver to keep it bubbling, it just wants to grip and go straight Give it a few more weeks and youll be like "S2K who?!"
  6. Maybe if he had a standard engine he would have been OK If you lowered that by about 35mm it would look awesome, eve thought about it?

    Tyre choices

Fullruns. Old Fullruns. Is he still better off buying the same for the rear than buying something decent? Of course he bloody isnt. Sorry, I did notice that you said "if they are decent match up" but where do you draw the line? IMO just buy the best you can afford and try and match the fronts when the time comes, makes much more sense.
  8. After I got burnt on Caterham we wont even approach Sauber, Renault, Manor, Force India or Haas as its too risky
  9. Audi If they leave WEC next year and let Porsche fly the VW brand, then they could definitely shake things up IF they buy the right team. I wonder how close they were to buying RBR when that team were struggling to find an engine for this year? VW is the obvious choice (until the emissions thing anyway) ........ I think I can actually say this now .......... VW were seriously looking at buying Toro Rosso and running it as Lamborghini a few years ago. Anyone care to hazard a guess where Stefano Domenicali ended up after Ferrari as well? Its only a matter of time IMO, I dont think Sauber can run as an independent indefinitely either.
  10. My feeling is its in no small part to the "old guard" protecting their positions, the same as the way the money is split - if they continue using high levels of nearly unobtainable engineering then it makes it harder for a Haas or Manor to break in and actually be successful. I also think there is an element of them having to be seen to use "bleeding edge" technology in order to maintain the position as the number 1 series in the world, but the tech has overtaken the spectacle though and thats pretty unsustainable .......... but it does keep McLaren, RBR, Ferrari and Mercedes at the top, and their sponsors getting all the coverage. someone needs to challenge the status quo but I dont know who would be big enough to.
  11. Excellent choice, they are bloody awesome cars. Good work on not buying an RC-F as well, no doubt they are capable but they look horrible
  12. I supply into F1 (and WEC, and DTM) so have a little more insight than most, Im also lucky enough to regularly talk to people that do this for a living ............ but the biggest problems are obvious to me without expert input. The Mercs are all beating and unstoppable? Not if they arent in clean air .......... and this is the biggest change that has to be made, less reliance on Fancy Dan aero. Make it a single plane front wing and the same at the back and ban CFD and FEA research and presto-hey, cars can run effectively in dirty air and youve reduced each teams annual budget by about 30%. If more downforce is needed reintroduce ground effects that arent affected by turbulence. The cars need to be difficult to drive as well, less downforce will help this but why not go to 1000hp as well? Now that teams will actually be competing against each other without aero getting in the way you can remove the synthetic "tactical" element of tyres and just give them something that will work all race - this will also reduce costs. Finally, run it like an actual business and not some evil dwarf's plaything. The media rights are massive, so why arent more of them goin to the teams - see also prize and overall sponsorship money. Why should there be a net cost for places like Monza, Silverstone and Monaco money to run races, why should fans have to part with a weeks wages to see a race? These circuits and these fans are what keeps F1 alive, not Bernies ever increasing bank account. There are some other things Id like to see (low grip just outside of track limits to dissuade drivers from trying to gain unfair advantage, free TV coverage, less penalties) but simply sorting the aero and adding some power would make it a much better spectacle.
  13. I reckon in too many years of driving stupid cars Ive probably tried 20+ different tyres and manufacturers and the MPSS are noticeably the best wet, dry and track compromise that Ive used.
  14. We had some chaps break into our office a couple of years ago. Could have been pretty bad, we had 6 fairly new desktops, a brand new £1800 laptop and another £750 one, a brand new iPhone and a week old Galaxy S6 along with usual office shyte. What did they take? A locked cashbox containing about £18 and our office dartboard. Seriously.
  15. A relative perhaps? Whenever I took mine to France it would get loads of attention, I dont think they sold many there at all.

    NEW car!?

S2K is a bit of a disappointment after a 350Z, on the road at least. The Alfas are the best looking cars for that money I guess, fastest would probably be a 400hp 200SX of some vintage. Actually, £6K would buy a nice 200, get one of them in
  17. Last time I took a car to Kwik Fit they did that to me. Not as bad as a local garage that forgot to do my brake calipers back up after a pad change - the pads fell out and I had no brakes, it was great times.

    NEW car!?

Same engine as my car, so potential for 400hp and 500+ lb/ft. Id call that a yes 6K is very much bottom end though, and youll need to spend another grand to get the powers. If anything goes wrong youre looking at £££ too, its not a low budget car for me. I wouldnt touch a 6K one with a very long pole. £8K+, ideally £10K IMO. E36 M3 though, youre bang on the money
  19. Japaneseusedcars.com are also very good, been doing it longer than anyone else I know
  20. You havent put the release bearing on the wrong way round have you? Is there any pedal resistance?
  21. www.sxoc.com/vbb is an awesome owners club The cars themselves are great fun but starting to show their age a bit, the basic design goes back to 1988 but they can still be bloody quick if set up right
  22. Must have missed this first time round, or Id have told you about the fibre cable thats right outside my office, the one thats been there for just coming up for 2 years and WE STILL CANT CONNECT TO IT. Try running an office with 7 people in it over 2 x 3.5 MPS connection, its great. Honest.
  23. Having caned the arse off a 981 Cayman Id wager that it ticks all of the above the boxes a whole lot better. Beautifully designed, beautifully made, oozes quality and class and the drive is exceptional. Corvette is a good alternative though
  24. Nice one man, good quality rims are fine with a bit of TLC every so often. And you 100% need to lower the car to make them look their best, Im already looking forward to seeing these on as they are beautiful
