  1. Indeed, if the Republican majority get too carried away with toeing the party line and not applying a bit of compassion once in a while it could be a very bad few years for less affluent Americans. Rather like us losing the EU to stop the Tory party getting carried away with looking after the elite and forgetting the little man.
  2. Aashenfox - I do a lot of business in Greece, my experience is not from reading tabloids. Black money and corruption are a lot of the reason you guys are in this @*!#, I know thats not down to the man in the street but Ive seen the acceptance of tax evasion and the lack of interest from the authorities in doing anything about it myself. Greece couldnt afford the EU or the Olympics but still got both, how did that happen? Answer: your government has let you down as a people, badly. To bring this back OT, I can see Trump do the same before he admits he doesnt know what hes up to, scary thought. Afraid Im not getting into the "is chinky racist" conversation as IMO it entirely depends on how the word is delivered. The problem is not every shares the same IMO and it just ends up in a never ending discussion.
  3. TBF with recent turbo engines you can have fast and economical, Ive got 33mpg out of my 135i and Ive had over 40 from standard 135i's and Golf Gti's etc, they are all quicker and just as comfy s a Zed is. My brother sees close to 50mpg from his 123d
  4. Is that why your economy is knackered as well? Freedom goes a bit far when it becomes socially acceptable not to pay income tax, for instance. Anyway, had another take on this last night, I couldnt figure out how everyone outside of the US was so negative about Trump when obviously that wasnt the case in the states. Then I cracked it - we are applying our European beliefs and culture to American minds and they just dont think like us. They are much happier just to accept things like "The American Dream" and economic recovery without analysing how it is going to happen, for them the ideal and the positivity it creates is more important than the implementation. Which is actually a pretty fair argument. Americans are a lot more likely to accept heroes than we are, and Trump is a working class hero - hes saying what they want to hear and promising what they want to see. They dont care about the rest of the world, they just want their country to be great again and if a famous billionaire says he can do it they are going to give him a chance Our view of racist andf ridiculous comments are not the same as theirs - why cant they build a wall, why cant they stop Muslims from coming into the country, it is theirs after all? Why should they even care what we think?
  5. Now why didnt I think of that? Its a good shout though, new enough to feel nicer than a 350, turbocharged, better on fuel and moddable if you get the urge. I have to say they are a bit soft and wobbly as standard but its not that difficult or expensive to fix if you want something a bit tighter Whatever the best Golf Gti you can buy might be worth a look too, cracking cars IMO
  6. He has also promised to double growth (to 6%) and make the USA the strongest economy in the world, somehow overcoming a £500bn deficit in 4 years. "How you going to do it Don?" "Just trust me guys"
  7. Not quite what I was getting at, if the AFM is foobed the car cant meter its air, so goes into limphome mode to protect engine ........... which wont let you rev over 4K
  8. The indie in Florida probably did for Hillary TBF. How can two massive parties like this decide that these were their single best two candidates for President? Come back Bernie .......... ETA: His speech was totally written for him and totally read from autoprompters, its nothing like anything he has ever said in his life.
  9. Its a tough one - new cars are comfy, warm, economical and reliable, all things that become a lot more attractive as you get older. They tend to be heavier, slower and less fun though, thats the payoff. My best advice is to find something thats newer, but still gets you excited ........ and it sounds like the Fester might be worth further investigation, Ive heard very good things about them too - a mate that competed in Time attack is now using one as his track steed Alternatively buy something with a turbo and map the arse of of it
  10. Yep, was using it at snetterton yesterday to keep an eye on oil temps in my Mr2 (no oil temp gauge)
  11. Whatever you buy make sure it has a lifetime guarantee on it, modern batteries only need to go flat once and they are never the same again
  12. More than likely a problem with the air flow meter, for some reason they dont always show up on OBD dooberrys. Unplug it, and if nothing has changed Id wager thats your cuplrit
  13. This is what you see with Torque Pro and a BT OBD, you can change the dials to show about 50 different things from intake temps to exhaust lambda:
  14. The OBD is cheaper and doesnt need installing anywhere. Cant speak for the 350Z but on my BMW its accurate for temps to 1 degree, at least then you can suss whether its actually going low or is just the gauge. If you do go the gauge route, like Rich says get one with peak hold and a light if it drops too low, I used Stack on my driftcar
  15. Mate, look at it from his point of view - hes come on to ask a genuine Q and has been told to buy a baffled sump (which he correctly states wont affect anything if the car is stationary), hes then had someone offer to "butt out" after hes described the problem in more detail, to ask on the Jag forum and then youve weighed in with the attitude comment and Ekona has backed it up with a dig too. The first post makes it clear that the issue is happening after drifting has stopped (difficult to "cool down" while still smashing off the limiter ) and the best advice anyone can give is "baffled sump" and then start popping at the dude.
  16. But hes fitted new discs? But has he rectified the underlying problem ? No, so its probably not DTV, is it .......... Im not taking the ****, I honestly dont understand how DTV can be a problem if youve just replaced the discs?
  17. Ignore the condescending answers and the ones that dont make sense, not the first time on here. Im not aware of any pressure problems in the 350's used by the driftschools, and Ive not ever had any problems running a standard sump on trackdays or the occasional drift session either. I dont know anyone running a baffled sump on a VQ either. First thing Id do is get a decent read on what the oil temps and pressures are, get a bluetooth OBD device and use your phone to monitor. I dont think the oil getting hot/thin would cause that much of a pressure drop, I think your oil pump might have some issues but you wont see it until you get decent measurements. Either way, I think the issue is specific to your car and not a 350Z "thing"
  18. Correct, all SR20 cars were Silvias and 180SX's which we didnt get here, they all imported. Digging deeper, the SR20 in the 180SX and GTi-R (redtop/straight cam) was different from the SR20 in the UKDM S14 (blacktop/bent cam) which had VVT
  19. You didnt bother reading the rest of the post then? The S13 ONLY came with a CA18DET, the PS13 and RPS13 came with an SR20DET. Oh, and Celica: Its up for sale I think as well
  20. If youve had the discs replaced then its unlikely to be the discs, is it? My money is on suspension bushes, possibly steering rack bushes - get it up on a ramp and go crazy with a crowbar
  21. Split right down the middle, some think its awesome, some thing its a bit of a waste of a decent S14 - if you want a Charger then go buy a Charger. RB stuff is not cheap either, Id much rather get a nice clean Zenki and just drop it to the floor on sweet rims, thats all an S14 needs really IMO
  22. S14 actually, 400hp is only a GT2871R and a fuel pump away ....... Some S13's got the SR20 albeit with a slightly different turbo Dude, Im the chairman of the owners club, Ive got a fair idea about this If you want to get to that level of pendantry, and S13 is actually a booted Silvia that only came with a CA18DET. The SR20DET was found in the PS13 (booted Silvia, JDM only) and the RPS13 (sold here as the S13 200SX). The only UKDM car the SR20DET was only fitted to the S14 (and the Sunny GTi-R, obviously)
  23. S14 actually, 400hp is only a GT2871R and a fuel pump away ....... Exactly why I never bought one Now that is interesting - I had an Integrale back in the day (and an HF Turbot) and still feel my heart quicken a bit when they are mentioned but was distinctly underwhelmed by my mates ST185 GT four Sainz when I had a go, I preferred by 200SX by quite a long way. ever tried and EsCos but dont think Ive ever heard anyone say anything bad about the drive, one day .......... Whores for courses I guess but if you ever get a chance to drive an Integrale of any kind rip their arm off, I used to get out of the car sweating from concentrating so hard on piloting it
  24. Stratos ......... Not really a hatchback through is it? And Im not really sure what the other reply is about, all of the cars listed are relatively small 4x4's with some element of success rallying, there are more choices out there than just the growler and the GTi-R. Expand it to "youre allowed a boot" and the Evo particuarly shows up the age of the GTi-R The 6R4 is in the same place as the RS200 (and Lancia 037 and S4 if you fancy), I just dont classify them as road cars at the end of the day
