To answer the original Q, on track, yes, eventually anyway. On the road, no.

Where the hell did the Star Trek appreciation society spring from? :scare:

I believe they will "reveal" that the P1 was actually faster, they have said otherwise so that they can run with the joke. If this is true then its pretty poor form TBH as the joke isnt actually that funny, we already know that he demolished his house to build another one. I think youve summed it up nicely Col, but the bit I cant get is the number of people that regularly slagged it being the same old same old that are now elated about GT ...... I never missed the old TG and I doubt Ill miss an episode of GT, but Id be hard pushed to say which I preferred, at least so far. I still think that given a series or two, BBC TG will actually emerge as the best for petrolheads, GT will become the Clarkson Hammond and May show with little to no content at all, and the Classic Car Show and Jay Leno's garage will be (quite correctly) revered for actually doing something worthwhile. Seriously, watch both of those and tell me that GT was brilliant ......

You and I need to go for a drink sometime, far too much agreeing going on recently More of the same wasnt it? You know, the hackneyed old program that would have people hammering at their keyboards every week about them doing the same stuff over again, about the celebrities being a waste of time, about there not being enough actual car information ......... For me they have missed a chance to take it somewhere new, to add some ideas - its just going to be the Clarkson, May and Hammond show with some dirtier words and probably even less content than it had before. These guys arent comedians, or born entertainers and while Im happy to sit and watch an hour of them hamming about I bet it will get a bit boring after 10 episodes. Im not saying I prefer the BBC version, but at least they have bought in a couple of real drivers, a technical guy and a few items that looked like they were trying to break the mould a bit. Nice to have the option though The audience were crap IMO (canned laughter, seriously?) and the "banter" was pretty stilted, why talk to an American audience about British problems? The new Stig is just terrible and what about the other cars in the opening sequence? Far more interesting than a Ferrari that cant be used for anything, and while Ken Block is always worth a watch I think the BBC won that little battle quite comprehensively

Seeing as Ive got a few minutes ......... The 'grale had to be on there, I remember visiting John Whalley in Chelmsford a few years back and literally going weak at the knees as there were 5 Evo's parked outside, I wouldnt have had the same reaction if it was 5 supermodels The 250GT, CSL and Tipo 57 Ive literally spent over 3 hours combined just staring at, all three are absolute works of art. Ive now seen all 3 remaining SC's including literally bumping into one on a tour of a Rolls Royce specialist, at the time it was the most expensive car in the world and Ive seen the Bimmer in 3 different countries too The P1 is a masterpiece even before it starts the engine, the 288 would be my fast road/track car and Id have to have a street legal driftcar for the bants as well, I have a reputation to uphold

Not making Micras. Or naming cars Cherry, Cedric and Gloria. Ten cars eh ......... Lancia Delta Integrale Evo II M6 Ferrari 250GT California Spyder GT Bugatti Type 57SC Range Rover SVAutobiography (after a visit to Overfinch) AC Cobra 427 McLaren P1 Ex D1SL S13 driftcar Aston Martin DB10 Ferrari 288 GTO and this, my eyes started leaking when I saw it last:

Mad, I also have an MR2 roadster but tend to only use it as a track toy these days, I know what you mean though, they are awesome B road cars. Low down torque is as good as anything N/A, its one of the engines trump cards IMO, but I dont know that youll get the buzz from the 370 that you do from an S body, its a different kind of drive, more GT than mad jap coupe style. Put it this way, when I was 21 the 200SX was awesome, when I got to 30 the 350Z was awesome, now Im 35 (and a bit) Im rocking a BMW which ...... ahhh, y'know Best bet - go drive one, Id advise a HR 350Z for comparison purposes as well. If youre looking for the mad bastard antics of the S14 then you might be better off looking for something with a turbo though
-
Had a 350Z, driven 370Z and Nismo 370, was chairman of SX Owners club until recently Road tax is £10 a week rather than £5 a week, big deal and I dont know how many times you used your rear seats for people with actual legs but I bet it wasnt many Engine is very good ........ for an N/A, tuning to get any sort of reasonable gain requires forced induction and youre looking at least £5K+ Insurance Id imagine will be similar, bigger weight you will definitely notice and Id wager the S14 will actually be quicker though the handling on the 370 is literally 20 years ahead. Bottom line - 370 is more refined, more comfortable, handles better and will feel a lot more special to drive. It wont be faster, youll struggle to get more power out of it and its going to cost a bit more than an S14 does

See above, any of the others would almost certainly appear on an OBD check.

Ah, thanks for that! i didn't know that about standard GTiRs. He mentioned a ball bearing turbo as if it were not the standard part, but it has recently been rebuilt, which is a bonus. In regards to the management, it was mapped on a chipped ECU, but it's currently on a Link ECU Anything you need just give me a shout, I know the cares and the engines pretty well. If youre ever looking for a remap then Id strongly recommend Martin Battye @ MB Automotive, hes somewhere near Northampton IIRC and knows his stuff. Anything SR20 related Id strongly advise using www.sxoc.com/vbb for info, its seriously the best forum for it and TBH is probably as good as anywhere for GTI-R info as well as there are a few old owners lurking about. Standard turbo was reckoned to be worse than the standard S14 turbo so a hybrid will be a decent improvement, if its just been rebuilt more the better ETA: TBF the original turbo could be described as a hybrid as it was a T28 with a bigger exhaust housing but it may well be that yours is aftermarket so dont be too hard on the guy lol BTW, if you rebuild the engine with forged pistons, stick bigger injectors on it and a GT2871R it wont cost much more than standard but will happily do just under 500hp .........
-
Yesterday? I have a feeling I might have passed you on the A14, I certainly went past a GTI-R ........... Get the pics up quick smart, BTW you would have had a hybrid BB turbot as standard, what management is it running though?

Errr ......... they are? See many , many threads on here about the evil that will occur if you turn the traction control off for evidence :o Never found mine to be massively tail happy. Turn the TC off for a week, come back and tell us how you got on. One of the easiest cars Ive driven to provoke controllable oversteer in, easier than "drift legends" AE86 and 200SX for instance.
-
TT-S then? Pleeeease tell me its remapped/going to be remapped Looks nice in Red

So what youre actually saying is that a better power to weight makes it more fun? Theres a lot of cars with better P:W, most of them are more fun but they are also less practical, less comfortable and less a lot of things.

Sounds like the GT86 cound be a winner. much better to explore the limits of grip at legal speeds. I dont understand why this is a good thing? Put crap tyres on your 350Z and youll reach the limit at under 70mph too, hell, use a Micra and youll probably be there by 50mph. If you by "explore the limits" you mean "smash about everywhere sideways" then a 350Z is quite capable of doing that too, trust me Its a £15K sportscar at the end of the day, if its really at the limit at 69mph then Ill probably give it a miss thank

Wet the track every week. Thats all.
-
I think theres more exciting prospects for a weekend car TBF, some that would be cheaper to run too
-
Chances are it will still do that power without the uprated IC, if it doesnt it should go into limphome before the engine blows up. Does appear that CP320 needs an intercooler. Get it decatted as well for comedy noises

I like to call this the S2000 conundrum. Is the handling and the way it drives really the most important thing on a daily/commuter, or are things like comfort, accessibility of performance and refinement more important? As Ive always said, if you have a racetrack on the way to work then the S2K is the car for you, but if you sit in traffic and roll along at 30mph all of the time a Zed is a much better bet, Ive no doubt its the same with the GT86. And rather than comparing a GT86 with a big Gt car, why doesnt anyone put it up against an Elise?
-
All of the above. If I was a gambling man Id say your fluid is boiling, brake pads dont melt

Bad one, sorry to hear it, hope all goes well and you can put it behind you ASAP

Obamacare gets my bet! Aye, something in the name suggests he will want it gone ASAP. Pence has already come out and said that smoking doesnt actually kill people, has suggested they will stop teaching evolution in schools and has said they will reintroduce "conversion therapy" for homosexuals. Oh, and they have both said they are going to remove anti pollution laws because Global warming doesnt exist. And that vaccines cause autism. Go 21st Century!

I am sympathetic, again Ive seen the effects with my own eyes so sorry if I come across otherwise. Its an absolute disgrace but its not just the government, its the "ruling elite" or whatever you want to call them - are they suffering like you are now? Course they arent. Why not? Because nobody stepped in and said "this is wrong" 35 years ago when the slide started so they just kept taking without putting back until theres nothing left. Germany, USA, UK have done the same but have just managed to hold onto economic sustainability, but for how long? The scary thing for me is that the US and even the UK could end up the exactly the same if the top end of society continue not only forget the bottom end, but actively legislate against it as theres no-one to stop them anymore. Trump is claiming hes all for the common man, but it seems that this common man isnt allowed to be foreign born or Muslim, hes deliberately widened a divide in the election campaign and its only going to get bigger IMO.
