  1. Only estate agents that work for you are those you know personally. If you dont know one then youve got nothing to lose IMO.
  2. I do really like the Cayman... in my mind though i feel like i want a keeper, something thats barely going to depreciate. I look at 987's now for £10k and cant help thinking the 981's will be there in the next 6 or 7 years or so. Also... i think the Cayman needs an additional rear spoiler, and if i finance a 35k Cayman (depending on how i do it) i may not be able to modify it... I dont know, Ive been atching the prices since they came out and bar the 20% VAT they havent dipped much, certainly not the S's. Seeing as the 781 is a 4 pot and the 981 was the first Cayman not capped off so as not to steal 911 thunder I think they will fare a lot better. And anyway, anything that isnt a classic already will lose some money, F Types and Mustangs more than most. Cant speak for modding it but Id just not tell them and hope no-one noticed
  3. Ive used Stubhub before, pretty pain free
  4. If youre moving walls then you need permission (which is generally not given) but for painting, electrics and stuff its not required.
  5. Our house is listed and its great ......... until you want to do anything to it. Everything costs 5 times as much and you can only make the changes if Planning and Heritage are in agreement so everything takes 5 times as long as well. Because theres more people involved there are more opinions and more chance of stupid rejections, our last attempt was rejected due to "rear views of the house" - you can only see the back of the house if youre trespassing in my garden A friend of mine recently sold a similar sized house to the link that Adrian posted, a few of us were tempted but decided the cost of getting it sorted would be too high. We were right, the new owners have apparently spent upwards of £250K sorting out windows, ceilings, floors, heating system, wiring, plumbing ......... On the upside you dont have to clean as often (its pointless, the house is constantly falling down around us) and any DIY or decorating can be "rustic" (i.e. @*!#)
  6. If you want a sports car you cant touch a 981 Cayman S upwards IMO, sublime car.

    Drift Matsuri

Just a glorified practice day was good fun mind, no not in drift cup but after comparing my runs with drift cup drivers this sunday i reckon its worth a shot You not go in for the team comp? From the bit of the comp I saw on FB and those pictures up there youd have placed in it ......... TBH I cant say I was massively impressed with the stuff I did see fro this weekend, all looked a bit slow but then no-one seems to have shared anything of the outside track. Come to SXOC weekender in July and drift it all day with food, entertainment and camping for less than £180!! http://sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?590884-The-2017-SXOC-Weekender-4-6-August-Track-and-Drift
  9. Ive been pedlling a theory that it was a poison chalice, whoever took it over was going to get crucified. Evans was the sacrificial lamb so MLB, Rory and to a greater extent Harris didnt get shot down before they even started, Harris is the key to TG's future IMO and they know it.
  10. In my recent experience once modern batteries have gone flat once they hold considerably less charge in future. Ive recently had one go flat from lack of use, charged it and used it for two days cruising about and within two days of parking car up it was flat again. I just buy the lifetime guarantee ones now, as soon as I start having grief I just get the swapped for a new one.
  11. Its a lot better in the metal TBH, well proportioned rather than fat but I really dont know why they didnt work a bit harder on the wheels, they are pants.
  12. I've sold 4 cars to wbac in the past 4 years. Each time I was honest on the online form about the cars condition. Once at their offices in each occasion I was given the same amount that they had offered me online. 2 of the 4 times were instead of part ex, and both of those were more than dealer would pay me. Other 2 were simply because I didn't have the time to sell privately. If you understand their business practice and you like the convenience, then there is no reason not to use them. Just be sure to be 100% honest on the online declaration. Although the caveat to all that is it depends how picky/good the person at the wbac you deal with is. I have had the same experience. Always been offered the same as online quote and usually more than offered in PX. Yep, same here, 4 cars now.
  13. Sad one Was just saying to the lads in the office that Ive seen him quite a few times at various places and was always amazed at how easily he moved for an old man, legend.
  14. Thats proper man maths mate, loving your work. Not necessarily accurate but if it means you get a faster car out of it then its undeniably correct
  15. Bear in mind that they will all retain the resale value though, 10K dropped on a Zed doesnt make it worth 10K more ........... I looked into this before I parted with my Zed, I felt that a V8 conversion was a better route to take, not least that its further scaleable when you get used to the power. And the noise.
  16. Back in the day at shows we used to wander onto the Scoob OC stand and ask if they had seen our mate. "Hes got a blue Impreza with gold wheels, hes wearing a Subaru jacket and cap"
  17. Bollocks. The Scoob was the archetype of the clit car, still is to some extent. The Evo was driven by more classy individuals, those who had a true appreciation of dynamics. And 3000 mile service intervals. I jest a bit but there were a lot more Scoobs and Evos and thats reduced its value in my eyes. Great cars but given the choice Id go for the Mitsi
  18. I liked the sound of the filthy one, was she fit? As for dating further women, why the hell not? You wouldnt stop going out with the lads because you fell out with one of them, if you dont consider it a romantic encounter then its just going out with a mate. Who might give you a bit of action.
  19. Id be surprised if a GTR is slower than a CSL as well.
  20. Don't let Honda nuts hear you say that haha they would lose their minds. The engine in the s2k is an amazing piece of engineering. Not 10k for an old motor amazing, but still very good. My brother had one, Ive taken another mates track weapon round Spa a few times as well. Im not so sure the F20C is all its cracked up to be, it doesnt rev very quickly, produced bugger all torque and even the power figure isnt amazing. Sure, it revs high and sounds nice but so does a lot of stuff ........ Good cars, no doubt, but great?
  21. Yep, that one properly messes with me as I personally think the MX5 is a better car, and its not like the S2K has got any real race history or cult following. In 5 years anything RWD that has an LSD and non electric steering is going to start to become a lot more sought after IMO, we are rapidly moving away from drivers cars
  22. Ive always avoided road rage by thinking how many time have I done that to someone else. Particularly in my teens Ive been getting properly pi**ed off with the opposite situation recently though - OK, people dont expect my car to go as well as it does, but Ive had at least 5 oncoming drivers flashing me for overtaking ......... except Ive already pulled back on the right side of the road with about 400 yards gap. I do make a big effort to thank people though, even if its just for not pulling out in front of me on motorway or leaving a gap to merge into, I think if everyone did that we would all be a lot happier drivers
  23. I think they are holding pretty well for a big engined car thats been superseded for 6-7 years, particularly the HR's.
  24. Younger than you mate (I think) ...... It makes V10 noises as well, cant do better than that
