Not exactly ground shaking but then I dont think they have it too badly wrong at the moment, as per previous comments and major changes are going to make life difficult in light of Brexit. I like the pulling back fuel payments for all but the poorest pensioners, both of my parents could claim this but dont as they dot feel it reasonable when they have solid pensions and own their own homes. Corp tax cut Im in favour of personally but it seems a strange decision, particularly for bigger companies. After reading Corbyns massive spending and big tax impositions on SME owners this comes across as the dreamer vs the realist for me.
-
Lets not forget the income that the SME's generate for the Government in VAT, import taxation, employment contributions, expenditure ........
-
Yep, if you notice I actually mentioned SME's and not business in general. Even if Brexit goes well there will be an increased cost in trading outside of the UK, theres no getting away from that. In these more difficult conditions as an SME owner Im looking at: A 37% net increase in corporation tax A 34% net increase in minimum wage 4 additional public holidays a year A two week increase in paternity leave, statutory bereavement leave Banning zero hours contracts and introducing guaranteed hours contracts Removing payroll companies (this is after killing off Limited contractors to the Public Sector) Reintroduction of Union access across the board Equal workers rights (unfair dismissal and long term sick for temps, for instance) Banning internships - there are some businesses where this is essential Trade union representation at work - who is going to pay for that then? Clue: not the employee. And this ......... all workers have fair access to employment and promotion opportunities ........... errrr, no, Ill employ and promote the most capable thanks, thats how REAL LIFE works. But hey, as someone thats worked hard to build their own business Ive made myself into a target, what should I expect?

I dont know how the contracts for these things work but surely with the massive and constant investment in infrastructure needed for all of the utilities you cant just grab it back from them, hence my comment regarding future profits, the costs of compensating the current owners/shareholders/staff would be enormous. Id also chuck out the example of the railways, we havent properly finished nationalising them and are £44Bn in debt despite a £4Bn subsidy a year. The fact we are even considering tipping £50Bn into HS2 that wont show a return for decades says a lot .......... Wars make money as well, at least they do if you have Rolls Royce, GKN and BAe/Airbus somewhere on your shores .......

It pays to be up on your politics, I just crush them with logic and reason If someone can argue that penalising the SME's just as we are leaving the EU is a good thing then Im all ears

As Ive just posted elsewhere: Mr Corbyn - are you intending to also come round to my house and kick me squarely in the bollocks once a week for your term? Short version of manifesto: increase cost of employment to small businesses substantially, increase Corp Tax (but dont say by how much), make a load of promises you cant actually back up on Brexit and have a good crack at destroying contract recruitment companies and private schools while youre there. We'll still pay and inordate amount of money for white elephants like Trident and HS2 though. Also very interested to know where the money for nationalising everything will come from, 150+ years potential future profits dont come cheap. Only bit I can really praise is the aboliton of uni fees, I had hoped there might be some decent progression in there but its like a socialist tick book exercise. For the record I own a small contract recruitment company and the missus is a private school teacher, but even without that its just a wishlist IMO.

Just remove the actuator arm(s), easy.

Original Bridgestones vs Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric 2
docwra replied to Science_GT's topic in Tyres
RE040 Bridgeys I take it? The RE050A are actually pretty good, I reckon they probably edge an F1 in overall performance -
Its definitely rust ......... but the pics dont give much more than that away TBH. Would need something a bit less zoomed in to get any kid of idea but he may well be right as regards diagnosis

Youll need to book directly using the details on SXOC, but if you want to run a list up on here then go for it ETA there is electrical hookup as well, and proper toilets, showers etc too. Food is (other then breakfast) is served from the Rockingham canteen, last year we had a hog roast on the Saturday night

+1, can totally appreciate the engineering and stuff (particularly when they are flying past you at Nur) but just find them a bit weird to drive. Cayman FTW anyday
-
Yeah, but are they actually selling for those prices?
-
Yeah, its happened before .......... Ive done it myself :o The first time was because Id run out of tyres that held air at a drift day, drove home with a 17 on one side and an 18 on the other. Wouldnt advise that, definitely not with a welded diff, car pulled massively to the left on throttle and to the right off of it But Ive also run slightly different profiles and while the effect isnt as distinct, its still there and can be quite unsettling, Ive had similar with seriously underinflated tyres on the back. Polybushes will exacerbate this as well, like I say it sounds stupid but its worth checking. And now, in the true spirit of WWED Im off to buy a massive orange car and try to chase Caterhams in it

Being a guarantor / Bad credit / Divorce - small update
docwra replied to marzman's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Id only be a guarantor for my own kids ........ and youre effectively a guarantor for them anyway -
These are Touristfahrten laps at Nurburgring - no briefing, not really any rules and anyone can jump on and pretend they are Senna (or Niki Lauda in some cases ), as Willis is saying they are pretty daunting even for trackday/Nur regulars. Most trackdays have strict rules on when and where you can pass, expected driving standards and extensive briefings with the threat of being ejected if you break the rules, most sane people tend to want to go home in what they drive there in too so its vbery unusual to see anything other than top drawer behaviour, Its worth doing another one, particularly with a weapon like a GTR and its not a race, while I know that Im a quick driver I wouldnt see which way a racer in a Ford Fiesta went, the only person you can compete with is yourself so do what your comfortable with and it will be enjoyment all round

Questions are all welcome, the more the merrier We usually see about 150 people in total with about 70-75 focusing on track and 30 odd drifting - I dont remember there ever being a queue on previous events so your car will dictate how much time on track you do, not the queue. There will also be instructors on hand if people are inerested, always recommended We are a bit over half full atm but are waiting on a few group bookings - while I doubt it will sell out it would be good to get people booked sooner rather than later
-
Food is included in the price, theres dinner on Friday night, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and at least breakfast on Sunday. Unlikely to be smoked kippers and gravadlax but certainly bacon butties for breakfast, Ill see if I can get info on other meals but there was a decent selection last time we did it.

Yeah, even the crappest tyres can still support the weight of a vehicle, and Cooper arent the crappest by a long shot. Its a crazy one but different diameter tyres/wheels on one side from the other can cause what the OP is talking about too, although generally youd notice an 18 on one side and a 17 on the other

Proper trackdays make time chasing a lot easier as you can put 2-3 laps together, Ive no doubt a Zed could see well under 8.20 with the right man behind the pedals either Check out my mate Dave there last weekend ........ he had a bit of a close one :scare: :scare: http://www.bridgetogantry.com/video-luckiest-biker-ever-survives-160kmh-push-and-two-barrier-impacts/

i understand both side of the story but for like me £202 for an outer paddock day is alot considering matsuri outer paddock was only £99 But you get a free trackday thrown in as well, its mega bargainous!! Being able to drift your streetcar or track your driftcar isnt an opportunity that comes up too often ........
-
The stupid thing is that the uptake is the same every year, pretty slow until about a week before when everyone decides they want to come. When a drift day using the same circuit sold out in less than an hour the other day and weekdays either aide are more expensive I dont get it ........ The sad thing is that if we knew we would get takeup we could do 2-3 of these a year, we have the people, the equipment and the logistic support but cant afford to take a bath if we fall short of break even
-
Exactly that, word was he had done a couple of trackdays in the car before but that was it, easily the worst performance ever
