Blue Coupe, Linton, Cambridge - possibly widearch?
docwra replied to docwra's topic in Spotted or Flyered
Bump, someone must know this car ......... could be from Cambridge, Haverhill, Sawston ....... -
STOP PRESS! I know someone with some Project KICS Neo Chro R40 for sale ........ http://www.driftworks.com/forum/parts-s ... ithin.html
-
Ive now had three people, including my own Dad tell me they have seen me driving around in Linton. Seeing as my car has 75mm arch extensions and 6 inches of lip on the wheels I find it hard to believe theres another one like so close, but thought it was worth an ask
-
Ive got some Project KICS Neo Chro myself, had to get them direct from Japan as I didnt even find anyone in the States who stocked them. I think I used JDMperformance

In response ......... Im fully aware that not everyone will like my car, hell, theres been 2-3 guys on this thread saying its not their cup of tea, and I respect that opinion. What I dont respect is being downright rude over something that took someone a lot of time and effort to make. I like it - I dont think its the best looking Z33 Ive seen by any means, but the response it gets is astonishing. Ive been driving heavily modified cars for 10 years now, I know they arent always going to be to everyones taste - I still dont understand why people run Z33's with wheels that dont fill the arches, even more why people buy new wheels that dont fit and then get spacers to make them fit, but I dont go round calling them dickheads. It actually looks like that as it had some pretty extensive cosmetic damage a while ago and it was cheaper to go a bit lary than to go OE. My views are different to most on this board, probably because of my modifying/drifting background - I think the majority of cars on here could benefit from being a bit more aggressive on wheel fitment and maybe a bit lower but I keep those opinions to myself as its not my place to start berating someone for their taste. Ive also seen what I consider to be some dubious advice on here given regarding tyres, traction control, drifting, wheel fitment and other things that I have LOTS of experience with, but its wrong to tar everyone with the same brush, I shouldnt be making "this club" comments off the back of a few people Ive disagreed with. Sorry. Anyway, sorry to have dragged things off topic, theres some beautiful cars on here and Id like to see some more of them. Who know, perhaps one day Ill actually come to a meet and you can all throw rotten veg at me in person Back on topic, three that are pretty inspirational for me (I dont own any of these though)

I honestly can't muster the words to fully convey my true feelings what a pile of shite that is.....awful doesn't even come close.....I wish I'd never seen that picture, a little part of me has just died. Thanks for your feedback. I thought that generally the owners on here were better than most, but it seems there are a few dicks who take it too far the same as everywhere else. Ive got no problem with people saying they dont like it, each to their own for sure, but its no pile of shite. Even if you dont like the look the fab work and paint is undeniably good, but I spose a standard grey one wearing Rotas is best though, right? Theres a whole story and a bloody good reason behind why the car looks like that, its won awards and pretty much everywhere I go people are taking pictures and asking about it, but hey, what do I know, I wasnt aware you are the uberstyle lord of the world and have a vocation to school everyone in whats right and wrong. Perhaps you might try walking down the street telling women their babies are pig ugly for your next trick. Ive had enough of this club, from what Ive seen the majority are good lads who have the ability to listen, consider and form judgements but it seems there are a just enough few small minded and ill mannered tossers to take the shine off. Shame, but I guess thats life isnt it. If any of you see my vile and hideous car at a show then please feel free to come up and have a proper look, I think youd have a different view to the above but Ill make sure Ive got the sickbags at the ready just in case.

What can I say, Ive had people falling off kerbs and walking into lamposts seeing it in the metal. Sure, its not everyones tastes but it honestly makes a standard Z33 look a bit ....... ordinary. Oh and its a Chargespeed front end, I wouldnt call it ugly
-
Not sure if the best ever, but I cant look at a standard Z33 without thinking it looks a bit ...... effeminate
-
Something worked loose while the car was on the driveway?? Do what?? Drift car alignment maximises rear end grip as well, so I imagine youd have the opposite (toe out, loads of camber) but unless youve got adjustable arms theres not a lot of available adjustment anyway

The best racing/track tip you ever had - One only
docwra replied to NeilMH's topic in Off Topic Discussion
"Fit on the phone, add ten stone" ......... oh, thats not right is it? First ever trackday briefing - you are the only person thats going to make you crash. Dont push till you run out of talent. Unfortunately this doesnt apply for drift racing but works well for grip stuff. -
Not in such a short space of time. I had a similar thing the other day, going uphill at WOT and the back got all squirrelly on me, just put it down to road temperature being near freezing. Keeps you awake if nothing else

Chargespeed replica bumper update plus help
docwra replied to Tarmac@TarmacSportz's topic in Tarmac Sportz
Ive got a Chargespeed bumper on my car, unfortunately its been pretty heavily modified so wont be much good for this. One thing I would mention though is that the ground clearance on it is pretty shocking, and the design means its not one that you want touching anything as it will break rather than bend. If I was to do it again Id have gone with something else as as it stands I cant do speedbumps with any confidence and multistorey carparks etc. are out of the question ....... and this is without my car lowered. It looks awesome though -
Aye, my car needs to go down another 40mm but with the Chargespeed bumper it would literally be dragging on the ground all the time. Im not a fan myself, I only put my one on as it was cheaper than replacing damaged bumpers with OE stuff.

You are going to struggle to find anything at all in 19 with tyres for £1200, never mind something nice ........... These are aggressive fitments: http://www.driftworks.com/forum/wheels- ... 9x12j.html

I now have 255/40/18 Bridgestone RE050A's on the front of my car and 285/35/19 Dunlops SP's on the back and can confirm that: a) The traction control is working exactly as you would expect - Im surprised, I have to say I havent gone cartwheeling into a ravine and the car hasnt exploded yet. It looks awesome though

Blimey, someone who can see what Im saying I cant get over some of the hysterics that surround mismatched tyres on here, I mean again, how is two different compounds fore and aft going to affect wheel speed? Hes talking about turning, not under hard acceleration or when driving on ice ......... Id add he isnt ignoring the experience of others, it seems to me that there are a lot of people who have run mismatched tyres and not had this problem, 5 on this thread in fact, and only one who did have the issue with mismatched tyres. Id say he is going with the majority. Oh, and as regards 18s front and 19's rear I dont for one second think my TC will work in that configuration, but its got to be tried
-
I have now run 3 different sets of wheels and 12 different sets of rear tyres on my car and not once have had the traction control problem you are talking about. I really, really dont think its mismatched tyres, but Im sure Ill be told different. Think about it - there TC kicks in when there are differing wheels speeds from front to back. I know you guys REALLY hate mismatched tyres but are you seriously telling me that it would cause the rears to rotate faster/slower than the fronts?? And dont tell me its due to wheelspin, no tyre is that bad that you are incapable of pulling off without spinning it up. My guess is that the rolling radius ratio has been changed, same as if you were running 19's on the back and 18';s on the front (which Im aboput to try myself actually) - different tyres makes in the same sizes will have sidewall variations that could cause this.

POWER IS NOTHING IF YOU CAN'T CONTROL IT!!!!

+1 Zed's seem to attract "red light racers" like moths to a flame! I borrowed an Evo8 a few weeks ago. EVERYTHING wants you to race it, even guys on pushbikes ......... A cheeky tear up can be fun in the right conditions though - I had cracking fun trying to stay with a RR Phantom in my GTI-6 coming out of Leicester the other day. Every straight he left me for dead, every roundabout I was back all over him -
Can I join too? Mine is slightly lighter but is still better than all those horrible other colours ........

And if your car was high mileage, needed a major service and a new clutch would it still be a con? Bear in mind the price they give is across the board so what looks unreasonable for a cherished vehicle is actually a good deal for something with mechanical issues, or someone who needs to sell a car within a week ......... Ive sold a S2K with a dodgy clutch and leaking hood, an M3 with a serious injector issue and an MR2 with nothing wrong with it but still got £800 more then the dealer I bought it from offered me on trade in
-
They would be a Rays Gram Light 57S and Id be looking to the US stockists for the best prices.
-
I dont like it at all myself when you are pressing on - makes the car quite unpredictable and as you say isnt the fastest system in the world. I only use mine in really cold and icy conditions and standing water TBH. They are very well balanced cars though so if it does go all sideways you should be OK as long as you dont panic - Ive actually found myself automatically accelerating into slides without even thinking about it
-
Stance whore Mind you, I do like the looks of what appear to be the project kics r26 lug nuts. Dont tell anyone what they costs FFS. The Americans do run much lower than we do, they dont have bumps but the white car isnt any lower than mine I wouldnt have said. I do get near constant grief from proper stance whores that mine is too high, but when it comes to a choice between looking awesome on the drive or actually being able to drive it I know which I prefer.

My favourite is the weather - if its hot then its Farenheit, when its cold its Celcius. Wheres the breaking point?
