  1. Car related it has to be soemthing that no-one has any control over - the horse/motorbike example is a good one, if someone passes out at the wheel and hits you that same thing IMO. Single car accident, Id argue a big patch of black ice could count as no fault, if you cant see it and youll still crash doing 5mph then theres no blame IMO.
  2. We have this: Its apparently the worlds first laser lit sculpture on a roundabout ........ except the lasers stopped working after about 6 months and havent been fixed. Most locals now refer to it as "The Bog Roll" Cost? £100K.
  3. Aye, if they were on the rear and pulled to one side Id understand it - you would be slowly killing your diff too. On the front not such an issue but I wouldnt be using that garage again ......
  4. Drove a 997, didnt like it. Drove a GTR, amazing, but not really emotional (other than amazement). The other one is a Lamborghini.
  5. The way Ive been told it, if the public can get onto it and walk on it (and then get hit by donutting car) then I can be prosecuted for giving it the large on there. Kinda makes sense, the only place we ever used to practise that was totally 100% kosher was a military base, that had locked gates and a man with a gun on the front door
  6. This, 100%. Even when drifting (which tyre pressures affect more IMO, we are changing rear tyres every few laps and grip is not constant) its rare for me to change the pressure more than once a session, and when I do its not a set amount i.e. from 34 to 36, its just "a bit more" or a "a bit less" until it feels better. I seem to be agreeing with Ekona rather a lot these days .......
  7. 1. House insurance will cover the shower, you might even get a better one out of it 2. As above 3. Insure your cat, believe me its the best thing we ever did. Friend of mine just got hit with a £2K bill for his cat, it died the week after anyway. Ouch. 4. Ball of string? 1. You could use permanent marker and clingfilm but I doubt it would be as effective 2. Remove your numberplate when parking. 3. Go commando! HTH.
  8. Like Tescos? Care to explain how a mate of mine recently got an 18 month ban for doing some second gear donuts in a Tesco carpark after he got caught on CCTV? Good to see a few people have 'fessed up to be a little bit naughty from time to time, I just cant abide the holier than thou thing when its a kid doing it, we were all there once. The fact its going to cost a good few hundred bucks to change the clutch is probably enough of a deterrent to do it again anyway
  9. between 2700-6000 And now you know why your insurance is so high. Insurance companies statistically think people your age are more likely to kill/damage their cars doing donuts. And you have just proved them right. Then WE wonder why OUR insurance premiums are so high... Yep, coz donuts statistically cause thousands of road injuries and body damage to cars evey year, and insurance companies pay out millions for worn clutches. Its his car, if he wants to stunt about a bit then its up to him. Only thing Id mention is that any car park accessible from the road counts as public, so if there was CCTV as well you might have bigger issues than a f00bed clutch
  10. Yeah, that sounds a bit dubious to me ........
  11. +1 when I had S14's and S13's they were the next step up and wanted one. Don't like the look much now though. Bascially the same engine as the S14 with a slightly better turbo so apart from the looks not much reason to pay loads more for one than a nice S14? Only the earlier turbos are BB, the S15 chassis is a lot stiffer though, interior is nicer, bigger injectors, better mapping, clutch is better, 6 speed box, better diff (helical as opposed to viscous), intercoolay is bigger, S15 is lighter as well I believe Is all of that worth the extra money ........ probably not but the car looks soooo much nicer than an S14 IMO.
  12. Different markets. The S15 is in enthusiast/2nd car territory, will hold its value and be far cheaper to run/modify/drift. You have to spend an astronomical amount to add 150bhp and mod the suspension on a Z. Well said that man, having tried both theres not a lot between them - the Zed is better out of the box but throw £2000 at an S15 and youll have a 400hp track monster. And rear seats, and decent fuel economy, cheaper parts, more styling options, more technical support ........ theyve got a lot going for them.
  13. That reminds me a bit of my 350 actually ........ either way, bubble arches like that arent easy to do, that first picture is very much a concept I think. Sadly.
  14. I do... very rare MOMO optional wheel. ...i'll sell it to you for £250 Ive got one too, £300
  15. Does it clonk all the time? Mine does when I come on or off power ferociously, I reckon its the diff bushes. If its not power related then its got to be suspension, get it up in the air and hang off some parts
  16. I hope you're not one of them that keeps phoning me, its fooking annoying TBH, thats the problem with most recruiters, they just dont accept "no" as an answer. Rather like the other two Ive mentioned actually Unless you are an aircraft technician, a pilot or a composite production guy then its not going to be my lot hassling you .......... that said, if anyone needs any of the aforementioned, drop me a PM
  17. Dont believe everything you see - I supply guys to make everything from wind turbines to F1 cars, theres bodgery going on at every level.
  18. Recruitment Consultants, Car Dealers, Estate agents, in that order. I own a recruitment company BTW
  19. Lexus IS-F, which funnily enough probably will be what replaces it.
  20. yeah - I get what you're saying - however that would mean that 90% of people driving around in a used car could potentially have their policies declared null and void. Simply doesn't happen and the industry relies on folks thikning they're over a barrel and declaring everything they do to their car - and at a bare minimum paying an administration charge to add to their policy. Just to be clear I am not advocating fraud or not declaring significant modifications such as roll cages - (which would require significant adjustments to interior of the car) - I am simply advocating a common sense approach here Unfortunately the insurance companies dont take the common sense approach though Weve had this argument a number of times on the SXOC, we all know that better brakes, suspension, tyres are an improvement on safety but insurers arent in a position to evaluate whether every change is an improvement or not. You are probably right, to the letter of the law a large percentage of cars dont fit the 100% OE rule, but then I bet you didnt know any non standard exhaust is also illegal to the letter of the law .......
  21. Gotta say, Im pretty shocked at some of the responses on here .......... most insurance companies will see any non-OE part as a "modification" and most modifications invalidate your policy unless they are declared. Exhausts and wheels, for instance are pretty bloody obvious and should be declared in all cases. Brake pads, tyres and clutches are more of a grey area but theoretically you could still have a claim refused if youve got anything that isnt OE, however experience says that its pretty unlikely. The argument over whether a modification increases performance or safety is totally null, if its not standard then its a modification. Try declaring a rollcage (clearly doesnt increase performance but clearly does increase safety) and see what happens
  22. Thats in Japan The car below was actually being advertised on here yesterday, thats in the UK too:
  23. Julian? Lovely man, sold me my first set of rims on my Zed. That car is INSANE in the metal, dont know that he will ever be able to sell it
  24. You not brought any parts for a S2000 then? Not engine parts, funnily enough They cant be more than 350's, surely, unless they are actually made of solid gold Either way, its abtter track car than a Zed, I think it would be more fun to drive and watch.
  25. If the question is would I like to race a 350Z, then damn straight I would, yes If the question is would it make a good single-make racecar, I can think of better, all of the MR2's, Pug GTI's, S2K's as a starter. Remember 350 parts are hideaously expensive and the cars are pretty heavy, Id definitely rather be pedalling an S2000 for instance.
