  1. He shoots, he scores Even when I was drifting mine I didnt really notice more on one side than the other, its got to be your alignment
  2. Stupid heavy modded versions allowed? The car is a lot prettier than I am mind you
  3. Lets see, I personally prefer the cloth and the normal steering wheel, the alloys are better than all standards except the Rays, white is a very rare colour and 100K isnt massive for a 2003 car ....... it may even still be in Km's, in which case its actually pretty low mileage. Maybe thats why this one is being offered at £5K then? Im not saying its bargain of the century by any means but I dont see where all the hatred is coming from?
  4. Ive got a couple of mates who hire out £1000 BMW's/Skylines for drift tuition, they are charging £3-400 a day for pretty much the same thing (track, instructors, insurance, car maintenance) except the cars are @*!# and cheap, the instructors get paid next to bugger all, the insurance is relatively low due to the low speed involved and the track is actually a car park. To make money you would need to be charging what, £5/600 per day ........ you can hire a 360 from a normal company for £600 per day though and drive it wherever you like. For that reason, Im oot.
  5. Thats your rose tinted glasses talking my friend. Back in the day the McLaren/Williams would **** off to the front, team orders would mean the top car would lead till the finish and there was next to bugger all overtaking apart from lapping the guys who paid for their seats. It really was a procession, regardless of how you remember it. This year youve got 5 World Champions in the mix, everything up 10th being competitive, tyre management coming back in ........ in the first four races of 2011 there were more overtakes than a full half of the 2010 season and that was much better than the year before. People can tell me that its boring, but you cant claim it used to be better in the 80/90/00's because quite simply it wasnt
  6. Remind me never to sell a car on here ......... £5K for a Zed with FSH is cheap as, it wont be perfect but I dont see where this "abused" thing is coming from, I dont actually even think the mileage is that high If you like it, go see it, make sure it drives straight, doesnt smoke and the clutch doesnt slip, offer him £4500 and youve got a bargain IMO.
  7. Been pretty boring over the past couple of seasons though, Moto2 and Moto3 show what it should be like I think. F1 this season has been excellent to watch, I dont remember seeing a GT1 race that was even half as good as Canada this year ....... that said it has come on a lot over the past few seasons. Both good to watch but Id like to see a bit more GT1 coverage TBH.
  8. I looked into it last year, Sikky do a kit and its not too painful on the pocket, and having driven an LS1 200SX and later a supercharged LS1 200SX (650hp/1100kg )I personally think its worth the hassle if you are looking for big, reliable power - dont forget the noise either. A lot of drifters are heading in this direction, mainly for the reliability but also for the power delivery - the Zed has a pretty decent engine already but if Im honest Im surprised more havent looked into it. That said, despite being a power hungry bastard, I actually think the VQ suits the Zed pretty well, I dont think Id ever do it now

Double post, I meant it *that* much

Having had plenty of experience with both cars, Id say youve been spot on as well. Apart from the last nit in small writing Interestingly this same discussion is going on at Driftworks, SXOC and the 306 GTI-6 Forum (or it was recently) as well. Usually RX8 appears in the first post and has vanished by the second page , but weirdly the Boxster never seems to be involved.

Im sure if you dont exceed 3K RPM in the S2K then it will have better MPG but then you might as well be driving a Diesel Fiesta. Likewise, I used a 2K for a commute (not mad balls out thrashing) that I usually do in the Zed and found the fuel consumption was somewhere between 15 and 20% worse. Maybe my friend Vez and I drive harder than the average person, but I know another 2-3 people who were exactly the same, finding the 2K consumption pretty damn bad. Still, back on point, they are great cars, I doubt you would regret buying one

S2K's are NOT better on fuel, I dont know why people keep saying this. My brother went to an Evo8 and found it better another mate went to a Monaro and found it much better, Im sure at 56mph and 2000rpm its good but you dont drive one at 56 anmd 200rpm. Real world I found the 350 to be somewhere between 8-10mpg better than my brothers 2K. The noise from an S2K with the airbox lid off is every bit as good as well, and there is a noticable difference between a 2K and a Zed in a straight line, with the Zed being a fair amount quicker.

Agree with all of that bar the fuel, you must have driven with the foot of a fieldmouse to find the S2K was better than the Zed (also had both, couldnt believe how bad the 2K was) For me the S2K is a great car for maximum attack driving but I didnt like it as a commuter/daily driver - was too cramped, needed to be dropped sometimes 4 (!) gears to go anywhere, was noisy and they are a fair chunk slower too. As Ive always said, if I had a racetrack on the way to work Id use an S2K, unfortunately I have the M11 instead so itsa 350 for me

  19. +1, Ive got some N1's and Im thinking about getting some RPF1's for my MR2. They are good, strong and egenerally light, but be aware that Rota have started making some very similar looking rims lately

  21. Id put good money on your alignment being out. The way you are describing your cars handling sounds nothing like the way Id describe mine, once youve got past the initial turn in unless you drive like John Clubfoot you shouldnt really have any issues, if you do they will be telegraphed to you long before the car starts sliding, it shouldnt really tramline on standard wheels either

  23. I believe they are Garson Deep Racing .......... and for bonus points I can tell you where theres a set for sale in 18 x 9.5 ET 10 front and 19 x 12 ET -6 rear. Fairly pricey mind you ......... ;p)

  25. Pressing the button turns the TC off which will allow you to drift as much as you like, but it doesnt turn off the stability control that will fire the front brakes if it thinks you are understeering. Not that big of an issue but annoying on track. Easiest way to sort it is to pull the three ABS plugs on the inside wing near the brake fluid reservoir, this will light up the TCS and SLIP lights on the speedo and means everything (including ABS) is turned off. To turn it back on just plug them back in again The more I think about it the more I reckon your problem is alignment, as others have said the RE050A is a damn good tyre and shouldnt be breaking traction on mild throttle, TBF it shouldnt really be doing it on full throttle ........
