Just to stir things up a bit, when does a massive benefit to members cross over and become trading? As Dunc has said, he would charge a small, one off fee to design a spacer, for instance, but if the members can then buy the spacers for 35% of what you would pay another trader then surely the benefit far outweighs the £30 Dunc will charge for the CAD file? its business he's gaining from the forum, Its though traders that help cover the running costs of this forum otherwise we would have to charge a membership fee. I'm sure you like it free. I dont think thats what hes saying, if he does the CAD design ONCE, then the club take it to a production company and administer the sales themselves, hes only making back money for his time on the CAD file. The club can make £10 profit per unit for instance and the members still make huge savings. Everyone is a winner, no? Another example is a club photographer - he goes to events at the clubs cost, and then provides pictures to the members for free - if they want hi-def or a number of pics they can pay a little extra for them. Once again, members, club and photographer all benefit and no-one loses out. Thanks for the lesson in car forum financials mind you, its something I dont have any experience in.

Shhhh. The R34 is a bit more interesting than this TBF as well

Is there a Hyundai forum? Maybe we should go and spam over there with threads about 350s It makes me laugh that two people that don't have Zeds anymore themselves have commented about talking about other cars on here And despite being long term members and posting on here a lot, Ive never seen any pics of their cars, I dont actually know what Ian drives and I only know Ekona drives a Beetle because I asked him. I reckon Ive seen and heard enough about AMT's Hound Eye that I could pick it out of a lineup of identical cars.

Ill see if I can dig it up, but we had a similar thread appear on another board a few years back - looked into it and unless the parts are OE replacements or need a German TuV approval then they can be made out of cheddar cheese by blind men. As long as the studs are good quality spacers shouldnt be a problem, I know a few lads who run their own with no problems. Lighter pulley wheels are another good one to consider.

So your are basically offering to put together a CAD file containing something a machinist can plug into his CNC Milling machine and make stuff? Sounds like a winner to me, £50 wheel spacers ahoy - once you have a basic pattern you can alter it for bespoke fitment. 380RS accelerator pedals, valve caps and engine dressing would all be of interest too I reckon

What Rays, standard Rays? The TSW's will weigh a lot more, probably corrode quicker, will fill the arches slightly better but if they are the black centred ones then I think they will look pretty gash too. Theres a few pics online, they arent horrible in silver but I think you can do better. If the tyres are brand new, thats great, if they are brand new Fullruns then its not so good. Other than that you are on a winner Theres a reason a brand new set of Rays is well over £2000 and you can pick up Jaramas from new for less than £900, if you want 19's in those sizes buy these viewtopic.php?f=32&t=60337&hilit=19+rays+57f+pro+ro+ja+split+rim+alloy+wheels - they are light, rare, beautifully made and will look like this when they are cleaned up a bit: And youll also stop me buying yet another set of rims I dont actually need

Eh? Take off poppers holding on undertray thing, more poppers near radiator on bumper, 2 bolts in each wing, unplug lights, pull off bumper. Takes about 15 minutes and the lights are either 2 or 3 bolts each, cant remember which. Husky sorted my light for me, but I dont know if hes still offering the service, Id suggest dropping him a PM

Errr, there are only 20. They will never be worth less than £125K, hell they could probably knock them out for £200K and they would sell in a day. I have a similar problem with the 1 Series M, the bastards. Ekona, totally agree. If its not a 700hp, carbon fibre £500K engineering exercise its a limited numbers marketing ploy. I struggle to remember the last car released I looked at and thought "Oooh, Id like that, and I could potentially afford it", it was probably the GTR actually.

Boost video needs to be accompanied by rev counter really One of the speedo would be quite funny too, I think this is easily 200hp over anything else thats on this board. Are those Oman power figures or US ones BTW??

I actually nearly didnt come back from a drunken falling in river excursion on Saturday night, scary how strong the torrent was. Just to annoy the Anglian Water customers, look at this map of hosepipe bans in the region: See that little bit in the middle? Should have moved to Cambridge

Ahh, the old 2 Jay Z swap with Nas on the side That looks stock, fantastic work - much more info needed though, turbo spec, management, gearbox and most importantly what its done to the handling, have you had the car corner weighted at all? Seen a lot of 2J's going into drift cars over here, spectacular engines. Last post - its out of a Mk IV Supra (at least in the UK, can also be found in Chasers/Mark 2's and Aristos)

The new Garmin Nuovi satnavs have built in Digital TV .........

They are a copy of a Gram Light 57 Pro, comme ca: Shame they are copies really, the originals are one of my favouritest wheels

Very few, if any people in the UK have achieved decent power from a VQ35 without using forced induction, its probably cheaper and more reliable to take it out and put an LS* in there instead.

RJN told me their GT4 car was running around 400hp, wouldnt fancy splashing out on one myself .......

Yep, as stated you really dont want to end up there either. Probably the best way, SXOC use this for area reps and mod positions, Head Mods and Committee are chosen by the Committee themselves as the roles re more important for want of a better word. 100%. Like Ive said earlier int he thread, I think you guys have got it pretty much spot on at the moment - it is nioce to be able to pay out £10K in January to secure a racetrack for the years big event in July though, you cant do that without money in the bank

If you can find a new fender in the right colour that migth not be too painful. Id defintiely keep away from insurance though.

Yep, its the commitment and discretion that are the big issues, it took us 10 years to weed out the lazy bastards from our staff. The blabbing of sensitive information hasnt ever been a problem, but there are only maybe 10/12 people that have ever had access to the highest level of the board, they have all been carefully selected generally by the existing top level guys. Looking in with a bit of prior experience this place is great - its friendly, theres a huge influx of new members at the moment, good events, plenty of traders and some good banter. The workload of your staff will increase as you get more members and do more events, if you make sure the right people are at the tiller (as seems to be the case now) this wont be a problem and the club will go from strength to strength, but Id add that feedback from the members to the staff is also very important, its easy to become a little disassociated sometimes

Kinda what Im getting at Dan, SXOC actually removed the voting in of committee members pretty much for that reason.

Apologies, Ive not read the whole thread (14 pages!) but Id ask you guys to consider the following: Im admin on SXOC (200SX Owners Club) which is just over 10 years old and has just over 1000 members paying £20ish a year, we have approximately another 2000 regular users Id guess, so quite a lot bigger than here. The income from that and trade fees is brilliant, it allows us to puit on pretty big events, weve got loads of club equipment, a van and we are able to do pretty much what we want to, if Im honest Id be suprised if this place grew much more without there being some kind of payment element. By far the most difficult challenge we have is finding good staff. They need to be committed, capable and have the time to put in, be discreet over what they hear and how they express their own opinions, be motivated enough to come up with ideas, have the time to put in when needed and be prepared to do all this for free. Its not such a big task for a board moderator, but when you are organising events, arranging discounts or making sure the trade income is going as it should youd be surprised how much time needs to go in - iots not like you get any thanks for it either. We recently sussed out that the most important trait a staff member has to have is that they will actually do what is asked of them, as if one link breaks down then it always leads to mroe problems. People love the idea of being a trade rep for instance, but then have lost interest within a few weeks, and within a few months the whole thing goes to pieces so theres twice as much for the next guy in to do. So as far as the first post goes, its a nice idea having a totally democratic staff system, but realistically theres probably less than 5% of the users of this board that would makegood staff members. The first question has to be "Will this person do the job" rather than how good they would be at it, or how popular they are (which is the bottom line of any election)

Oooh, and an even better one I got told about a little while ago, true story - a guy went to Helitech at Duxford, a bi-annual helicopter show and was looking around a £2m odd chopper when the sales person came over and asked him to move away from the aircraft. When he asked if he coud sit in the cockpit he was told no, that was for prospective customers aonly and actually the salesperson was very busy so could he just move on please. As the guy left he found the samesperson and told her that not only had he just spent £3m on that other helicopter over there (next booth along), as the sales chap was so nice he had bought another £1.5m helicopter for his property in France too.

Weird that, Cambridge and GT-R wouldnt actually let me drive a 370, made me drive a GT-R instead. Must be the way you look TBH, most dealers seem to know if you are the real deal or not - I went to a BMW garage a while back dressed like a tramp (Id been moving furniture) and driving my old 306 that hadnt seen a bucket and sponge for about 6 months. I was asking about the 1 Series M, so was outwardly a test pilot but I still got 1/2 hour of his time - unfortunately they had just sold the last one so a test drive etc wasnt on the cards but he did offer me a run out in an M3. I declined as Ive already driven two, but I was quite pleased I didnt get pushed out the door as quickly as possible The only two places that Ive ever been refused were a Ford garage who wouldnt let me test drive a Focus RS without putting a deposit down (Id driven IS-F, GTR, 997C2S all in the same week ) and the prick that runs Hendon Way Motors, NW4, who got me down once to tell me he didnt have a co-driver available for a test drive and then a second time, after I called to let him know Id be there, when he told me Id have to book an appointment to test drive it. If you ever meet him, tell him from me he missed out on £45K of my money for being a supercilous tosser.

Yep, had a friend with a totally standard PPP Impreza, had no issues with it at all. Changed the exhaust (didnt even decat) and within 3 weeks he had a lunched engine.

My broker found me an excellent policy last time round, saved me £100 on last years and offered better cover Said bropker then contacted me 3 months later to tell me there had been a mistake, and that the policy was actually £400 more than Id been quoted. I couldnt get anything else (imports on trade insurance ) so had to pay it, within a week to stop the policy being cancelled.
