  1. Definitely keep us posted, its a car that Ive often considered buying for the missus ......... and then like yourself throwing a few G's at to make it REALLY fast and stealing it back from her Good to hear Birds are still in busienss too, the Hartge BMW's are
  2. Last time I actually checked my average it was just under 18mpg, this would probably explode in 5 minutes.
  3. The Rays have reinforced threads too ......... but I still wouldnt use them. To easy for a thief to remove or you to chew up, plus the obvious "What if they fall off" concern. Unfortunately alloy nuts are all going to suffer the problem so my soluton was to puch the boat out a little ............. http://www.evasivemotorsports.com/mm5/m ... ry_Code=L1
  4. Theres lots of mine, people on here dont seem to like it much though.

Ouch. Thats about as catastrophic as engine failure gets, Ive only managed tops or bottoms on their own, never both at the same time. Congrats Fair play, thats definitely a new engine then mate, not even worth bothering trying to fix one thats had a smashed top and bottom end. I would check out the links I posted though as I think £3K is steep for a new engine, you could buy an LS* V8 for that
  6. Thats silver paint I think youll find
  7. Cough. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3922910.htm No more, I promise.
  8. Chrome wheels are unusual, not unheard of but unusual. The main reason they are unusual is that they are almost impossible to repair or refurb without rechroming them, which is expensive. Are you sure they arent polished?
  9. Older Saabs > Volvos Newer Saabs < Volvos IMO, at least The Octavia is a very good car though, AMG Merc or biggish BMW not tickle your fancy though?

Thanks mate, thought I was invisible or something. OP seems to be good at asking for help but not great at reading the answers ......
  11. Dont own a 335 but have driven one hard on a fair few occasions, and personally thought it was a little soft for my taste, certainly more so than my Zed is/was. Lovely car, very fast in a straight line (when it got traction ) but less involving than a 350 for me in the coreners - the one I used to drive was bone stock though.

What the hell caused that? Its written off two pistons, I cant see how one valve can jump from cylinder to cylinder Are the bores scored or did they come out OK? If they are in decent nick then you might get away with just replacing the head, if they are lightly scored you could possibly get them rehoned and use an oversixed ring, maye even an oversized piston if they are really bad, anyone know if VQ's have bore liners? Polo used to have a spare VQ kicking about, dont know if he still has, and a quick ebay scan shows this for £2K fitted (17K miles) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-350Z-V ... 1e6e016420 This for £1K without ancilleries (that youve already got, 33K): http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-350Z-2 ... 2ebe5c0d56 ........ £3K sounds a lot. A new head is going to be a lot less to buy than a new engine and a lot less to fit as well, might be worth considering. TBH Im surprised your man at Japex hasnt been able to help more, not heard of them myself but all that up there ^^ is pretty standard.
  13. That was Reverend Black Grape I think youll find
  14. Ahhh, think Ive figured it - you had an engine light on that was caused by the flywheel, and another error code that was a loose wire in your traction control? Glad you got it sorted
  15. Chuffed for you, but what was the original problem?? Just searched and can see lots of requests for sensors, not much "Ive got a problem" though

    ITS ON!!....

Dude, things dont tend to break on 350's, itsz more clutches, brakes and tyres and you wont get a warranty to cover them. Just buy the car and enjoy it, worry about fixing it when it breaks. Hell, Ive got 10 cars, if I worried about them breaking Id never get anything else done. Or of course you could buy something cheaper and more reliable - Ive heard good things about those Hyundai Coupes, cant remember where though
  17. Few more Ive discovered recently: The JDM fuel consumption thingy wont show less than 3.1 km/l (thats 7.2 mpg) It is actually possible to hit cats eyes with the front bumper if you run low enough Trying to use the emergency boot release when the gas strut things arent working is painful.
  18. Its a flat tab, about 25mm long on the underside of the strut brace about in the middle

    ITS ON!!....

Are you trying to wear your keyboard out or something?
  20. Not today, but my all time favourite was one of these: Was in a smallish town on a Saturday morning, heard it coming for about 2 minutes before I saw it and then just stood there with my jaw on the floor. I happened to be about when the guy came back to it and asked him if it was real - he said it was, and he drove it every day to pick up his morning paper. I stood with my jaw on the ground again as he cruised off at 130dB
  21. If its only braking one wheel thats a VDC/yaw sensor issue Id say. When I went with 19's on the back and 18's on the front mine started doing this in any kind of aggressive driving round corners. If yours is on right size tyres and wheels a penny to a pound its this would probably explain why the ABS got stuck "on" as well. Id still put it through CONSULT as Id imagine the ABS/wheel sensors would probabyl be included, just drive soemwhere other than Warwick
  22. If you drive a 200SX, maybe, as they dont handle or stop very well. Doesnt work for anything though, a MkIII MR2 for instance - why would you want to do the handling and brakes first on one of them, they are perfectly good already. Theres also the noise aspect that you get from exhaust, induction, decats - its a good thing but doesnt fit in any of the above categories. Oh, and Abbey dont hold the fastest jap car in Europe at all, dont know where you got that one from. and the foreign language, and the bedroom cowboys, what actually are you on about?
  23. Coldel - bang on the money. Im not saying the brakes dont need doing, but theres better places to spend the money to start with IMO. Id also add that while Ive got the utmost respect for Abbey, things like the thorttle controller, plenum spacer and induction kit can be bought and fitted a lot cheaper elsewhere. As a guy on another forum said to me once, you can ask a garage/trader for advice but bear in mind why they are there in the first place
  24. Still dont understand why people say to upgrade the brakes first, they are decent as standard Id say plenum spacer, induction, exhaust decats, throttle controller, suspension and uprev in that order. The uprev is only really worth doing once youve got the other stuff fitted, everything else is effectively a standalone mod A decent set of wheels really makes them look amazing though, Id keep half an eye out for a good set too.
  25. 1M's are never going to lose any money though, likewise CSL's. Lots to buy though, agreed and an M5 is a bit of a barge for caning about in.
