Look up hydraulic lock mate, the damage happened as the car died, not after.
-
Nice one - I think number 9 is what Im missing, the centre pipe pushes into the backbox but then falls back out again, either that or the flange has totally detached from centre pipe or backbox. Ill see if I cant have a better look tomorrow morning, hope its the former rather than the latter The car is verrrry low, I need to put the wheels on ramped bit of wood before I can get a jack under the diff and as mentioned in title, Im lazy As for replacing the exhaust, Im not sure there is anything out there that will make it sound like it does at the moment, its incredible - really high pitched but quite meaty with it.

Im there Thursday and Friday, outside one of the big white tents with any luck

So driving back from Le Mans my Zed started sounding pretty awesome ......... the tunnels were something special but there was obviously something up with it. It seems Ive seperated the final join where the exhaust meets the stub that comes out of the backbox, after a quick investigate there seems to be a bracket fixing it to the car at the same place. Unfortunately the car is so low I cant get to it without putting it on ramps, so does anyone know from memory what sort of fitting it is?? Is it a push type with a clamp round it or something else? Im actually considering having it welded back up but with a small gap so it keeps making awesome noises - need it done in the next week as Im on track weekend after next

Some import cars came with flappy paddle gearboxes Really? by no means saying you're wrong but I've NEVER seen one with OEM paddle shifters. Also if you look at the photos of the car in question it doesn't have paddles, so the guy's just being a douche and trying to jazz up the fact that it's an auto DB It seems the paddles Ive seen have all been aftermarket, a company called Bell makes them.

Not bad at all, nice and smooth which is key. It sounded like you were just using the power to get the back end out, did they not suggest using clutch kick - I find it better as its more predictable and you can usually initiate much earlier as your speed stays fairly constant. The other thing Id suggest is letting go of the wheel on transition a bit more, your hands cant move quickly enough sometimes. I believe they make Oulton wet even when it isnt raining though, you might have a bit of a wait for a dry track EDIT: Did you go out with an instructor, and if so, who was it BTW??

What company do you own out of interest? Excel Technical Consulting, we are currently working with Caterham F1, Toro Rosso, Prodrive and a number of others that you probably wont have heard of as well as loads of aerospace companies alex@exceltechnicalconsulting.com if you are interested -
If the car is idling lumpy, and switching the AC on stops it, its got to be related to the idle air control IMO.

LOL Im that keen on fitment I thought you were talking about the wheels Mine is a little bit gappy but at least its the same all the way across, the bend in that makes it stick out like a third nipple.

You live in Cornwall, had the first race in Manchester, the second at Thruxton and the final at Silverstone? And had to pay for the privilege? You might have found your problem mate

944 still rocks, 924's arent so good these days. 968 is very much on my list

I own a recruitment company and supply deisng and production guys to F1 teams, LMP teams, companies like Prodrive. If you want a recruiter drop me a PM -
You will almost certainly not get anywhere near court, she will claim she didnt realise there was an accident at all, and any insurane claim will almost certainly go 50/50 meaning you lose your NCB over £150 of wheel refurbs ......... Do you think she did it deliberately? Because if you dont, I very much doubt anyone else will. Its an accident, they happen. Alex - I know you are here to make money but wouldnt it be better idea for him to see if he can get it refurbed before banging out on a new wheel??
-
But its not "the bottom end of the market", its just the older cars or imports ........ an 06 in 18 months is going to be as old as an 04 now, does that mean you will only be recommending 08 cars at the time?? No-one is suggesting buying a car with accident damage, extremely high miles or horrific modifications, thats the bottom of the market IMO, not potentialoly well maintained cars that were just built a year or two earlier
-
Once again the somewhat elitist view this forum has of the car rears its head ........... First things first - its a fairly unstressed 3.5 litre N/A Nissan, not a turbocharged Maserati - theres absolutely no reason to be scared of 03/04 imports because they are 18 months older than an 06, likewise mileage over 100K shouldnt really put you off. Just do the usual checks and make sure theres nothing obvious thats wrong. The clutch is probably more likely to have been changed on a 100K car than a 50K one, if it hasnt the best way to see if its slipping is to put the car in 6th at lowish revs while moving (up a hill is ideal) and then floor it, if the revs rise out of sync with acceleration the clutch is slipping. An S2K is a better car for 100% maximum attack driving, but in pretty much every other respects its inferior and in some its a totally different prospect, tbh thats pretty rubbish advice IMO, if you want a 350 then buy a 350. Funnily enough a clutch replacement is fairly similar in cost on an S2K too, imagine that

Im unaffected, but I think this is because having two heavily modified 200SX's that break all the time means Im immune.
-
I didnt find it abrasive at all, its tarmac laid over the old airfield so is broadly similar to an "average" track
-
Yep, I did Bedofrd through MSV and thought it was very good. It was an open pitlane and wasnt divbided by experience, but the track is big and wide enough that you shouldnt have any problems
-
Youve got a way to go yet .......... (Thats not including the 12 that were fitted to cars or 4 that were having tyres put on) The Dares look really good though, particularly for an 18

Will at Streetoptions did mine, definitely worth a shout.

European courts take another swipe at business.

Chesterfield, I salute you my friend, not often I see someone who has things as bang on as that. RTbiscuit, not havign a pop but .......... Erm ......... most of the rest of us graft pretty hard too - working 9-4 with 13 weeks holiday a year and no chance of ever being fired doesnt strike me as overly stressful I do agree though, teachers shouldnt be lumped in with the rest of the public sector, you guys do work bloody hard (as do Nurses, Military, Police) but unfortunately thats balanced out by the complete apathy and lack of energy of the "proper" civil service that actually scares me when I see it firsthand. -
