a) Grip would be improved but not hugely, it more depends on the tyre you run than the wheel width I wasnt aware Zeds suffered from understeer .......... mine certainly doesnt c) If your wheels affect your turning circle then youve got serious problems. 19x10 ET25 will almost certainly fit without any problems IMO but it might be worth seeing if you can find someone running then. EDIT: and Im running 18/19 stagger but have to have the VDC turned off permanently.

How badly did you want a 350 before you bought it?
docwra replied to mouldie's topic in 350Z General
Came from a 200SX and only bought the Zed because I knew Id get fed up of an S2K, and if I bought and S15 it would be a 400hp drift monster within 3 weeks, which wasnt really the plan. So instead I bought the Zed and still went through 8 sets of rears in 13 motnhs when I doscovered it drifted better than a stock S15 anyway -
Its a weird one to be sure, they only do straight line testing there so how she managed it and why there was a lorry in the way I dont know. Someone I know also pointed out that her background doesnt suggest an F1 drive, [mod edit: Tastless. The woman has suffered life threatening injuries. This is not the time to start on opinions on gender and hair colour in relation to this]

And to balance it up Ive got a GTI-6 and would be hard pushed to choose between the two cars. Quite different driving experiences but each can be just as rewarding as the other. My view (and I kow a lot of people who have owned them share it) is that the S2K is an awesome car when you are on maximum attack mode, for anything else its a bit annoying. Unless you have a racetrack on yoru daily commute I far prefer the Z33 as its more refined, more comfortable, faster and just easier.

The point is that you could buy this stuff tomorrow and do it for yourself the day after. Hotwiring was never this easy.

TBH, proper large, dishy wheels are rare and therefore rarely come up for sale. Theres a few on here, http://www.sxoc.com, the two Skyline Owners clubs are worth a look .......... but TBH, scouring ebay here, in Germany, in Japan and the USA is probably your best bet. Theres a couple of good shops in the states that I have mentioned elsewhere on this board before, if you want brand new Rota from Rarerims are hard to beat. Other posters - are we just pic whoring then, because if so you are all playing at big wheels

Then why does anyone bother getting it set if its only going to change again? The idea is to slacken the adjustment bolts off, adjust it to what you want, then tighten them back up again, the only way the numbers will change is if the toe/camber/caster adjustment hasnt been tightened back up. Laser alignment is done with the car and wheels on the floor so the figures are what are going to see once you drive off, isnt it? I definitely agree with the second part though, thats like a Kebab house not using pitta bread or elephant leg.
-
Firstly ........ you cant align a car properly without locking the steering wheel straight ahead. If these fools are claiming that they can then it is their tools, specifically the ones in overalls walking round the workshop EDIT: On the second chack, your rear toe hasnt been changed at all ....... unless you have a very bent chassis and have put the arms on at a maximum or minimum that doesnt make any sense

You still arent really getting this are you ph? Have we suggested Maseratis yet?

See new post from trader "Driftworks" .......... I think Ive found my answer

£15Kish cash/deposit, the other £15K as a loan or finance. I know where you are coming from but I own a company, Im hitting mid thirties and going to business meetings/posh events in either a widearch 350Z with massive chrome wheels, a sheddy looking Peugeot 306 GTI-6, an MR2 or a driftcar isnt really on, people will think you are a drug dealer, tramp, gaylord or complete idiot, respectively. To get something thats less than 5 years old (so it doesnt go wrong), 400hp or more (so I dont think its slow) and at least some semblance of being refined (so it actually gets used) aint cheap sadly
-
See, I dont really want loud, certainly not all the time or Id have just kept it broken :wack: Id like fairly reasonable at cruising speed and howling like an F430 on throttle if possible. Wasso - cant find it mate EDIT: DBlock, was actually thinking about somethign you could remove and put back as the mood took you, Ive never heard another 350 sound remotely like what mine was doing after the ironwork.
-
The only ones I know of are these: www.driftworks.com/forum, including an SR20DET roadster, you might want to check them out and see what they use as well Or if it was me Id be checking out Forsberg/Fousts setups as they seem to do alright with them

So I took my Zed to Le Mans this year - we usually go in a campervan but it failed its MoT sadly. Had a good run down, couldnt believe how good it sounded in tunnels (we dont get them round these parts see) although I knew there was something up with my exhaust when we left as it sounded a lot better than a standard car Had a good time then convoyed back with a 400hp S14 and a LS2, Procharged V8 S14 with about 650hp Was all going well until we hit some road that Johnny Frog had decided to dig up, but leave the ironwork all nice and raised ......... when you only have about 2.5 inches of clearance that was not fun. It became apparent that the ironwork had damaged my exhaust as tunnels then sounded like this: There are other, better vids about, I just need to track them down but as you can hear, its louder than the LS2 car (sadly not as quick though). By the time we got to Calais even the Ferrari drivers were looking round to see where the Ferrari was, it sounded insane When I got it home I had a look and the centrepipe had totally detached from the backbox (which would explain the incredible racket it was now making), and I noticed it was down on power too so I went and got it repaired this morning ......... but rather than a flamespitting Italian monster Im back to a whimpering homosexual So Im in two minds whether to just drill a hole ion the exhaust (cheap and chavvy, I know but it was working effectively last time) or try to find something that howls, pops, bangs and generally sings, one thing Im not keen on is this silent business as I drive about. Whats the howliest exhaust you can buy (only need it catback as Ive got decats in)

Non-Standard Discs & Pads Effect Insurance or Not
docwra replied to Trojan D079's topic in Insurance
There was a guy on the Celica forum whop hadnt declared a dump valve and lost his payout ............ -
Youre not alone - every wedding, funeral, christneing I go to theres at least 5 lads waiting in line for me to tie a tie for them TBH, I know where you are coming from though, its a lot easier to wear civvies sometimes. We decided a couple of years ago to stop wearing suit and tie in the office and its much nicer. That said, its also good to know how to rock a suit - remember, people you are trying to impress may well know the code too, you wouldnt get much appreciation from me for doing up your bottom button but roll up in a single breasted grey houndstooth with a navy blue tie on a proper dress shirt and Ill shake you by the hand.

Non-Standard Discs & Pads Effect Insurance or Not
docwra replied to Trojan D079's topic in Insurance
I personally dont bother with pads, but would with discs. Reason? I wasnt told and couldnt tell you if the pads that were fitted when I bought it were standard or not, and if I cant tell I doubt an insurance claim would be withheld on that basis. -
Its not unwritten, its part of dressing properly (you actually are allowed to button the bottom at a funeral, but only then). Like if you are wearing a jacket you shouldnt have a top pocket on your short, like that bespoke suits have cuffs that unbutton, like your tie should actually be a recognised knot, you shouldt ever undo your top button when wearing a tie, your shoes and belt should match, you dont wear brown shoes with anything other than a brown suit ........... theres loads. Waltzinblack seems to get it, and Id wager he would have the **** ripped out of him by his colleagues if he got any of it wrong, been there, done that

Why are you posting an £8K, 250hp Alfa when the guy is looking at a £25K, 500hp BMW? I didnt even look at the link for the Giulietta, thats not even in the same postcode.
-
Ill go with the dress.

Recent trasckday at Bedford showed the Zed to be considerably quicker than the 3/4 ST's that were there. Dont know if they were standard or not though
-
M5's and M6's are nice but hella thirsty, Id go down a slot and look at a 4 door E92 M3, IS-F or an XFR. All three are astonishingly good, potentially the best cars in the world at the moment and can be picked up for the right side of £30K

Sorry Leeroy, didnt see your post until I got back. That was good, Thursday was a lot busier than normal but was a good chance to mooch about a bit, spent most of yesterday trackside in all weathers. Shame about the rain in the morning meaning the cars couldnt go 100% (respect to Shakey Byrne for going up the hill on his back wheel in it though) but once it had dried out it was pretty cool. Highlights for me were the Royal cars in Style et Luxe with some crazy modifications, the Ferrari FF that had £75K of factory extras (youd think they would throw them in for £225K really) and the Lotus Evora GTE, which I must have. Russ Swift in that Jag was shithouse though, why they didnt just weld the diff I dont know but I can do better than that. Seriously.
