Shooting myself in the foot bigtime by saying this, but mine has done 133K km and would appear to still be on the same clutch it came in from Japan with in 2006. I would put money on the fact that its been kicked, slipped and dumped more than anyone elses as well .........
-
Indeed, after the car looked so amazing, breaking down and then locking its wheels up on the hill isnt such a great look after all
-
Ive had a great start to the day - MR2 we are supposed to be using on trackday tomorrow has decided its clutch should die overnight, and wont give up the location of its fluid reservoirs, the GTI-6 thats right in front of it has a power steering leak that Id left for a couple of weeks as I didnt think Id need the car so is out of commission, its hammering down with rain and the place we are supposed to be camping all weekend is arguably in East Anglia, the Midlands and the North East the three places there are severe weather warnings. Awesome.

Lots of people don't spin on mixed tyres y'know, it's not instant crash and burn. NO NO NO!! The moment you put mixed tyres on you know the 350Z will head straight for the nearest ditch, the same as if you turn the TC off, you are effectively laughing in the face of death! The TC isnt all that quick TBH, if it was a narrow road I can see how youd hit stuff before it had a chance.

That is a ridiculous price for a 2002 import! Even if it is mint and well maintained. No leather either but it does have brembos so whoever has had it has possibly looked after it and spent time thinking about improvements I wouldnt say ridiculous, its only got 30K on it, FSH and is clearly mint - you could probably talk him down to £6K, I dont think thats bad at all. Cloth seats wear a lot better than leather as well
-
Are the tyres in decent condition? I had a similar one a while back, turned out one of my tyres was in less than perfect condition If its any comfort my bezzy mate is the top sprayer at Gladwins, Im sure I can make sure he gets your car and does it real nice like
-
For me, if you can inspect the repair site and the car is mechanically sound, the only thing you are losing is resale value. Go for it.
-
They are forged though?
-
As it happens the set that were on my Zed may well be for sale very shortly - Ill PM the guy and ask. They will be a little more than £900 but not a lot, and have brand new FK452's all round ......... Ill let you know

Its not sexist though, pretty girls sell stuff, thats a fact of life. This why you dont get male promo models, page 3 boys or PR fellers, or had you not noticed? Once again, for the 4th time in 2 pages, I havent and didnt suggest that her sex was anything to do with the incident, and once again youve totally ignored that. If it was a 30 year old guy with that racing background its quite possible questions would be asked as well, like I said, look at what some of the other F1 test drivers have achieved, they generally have at least a couple of championships under their belt. Do you know who Danica Patrick is? Do you know she gets at least twice as much coverage as any other race driver in the USA, despite generally being midfield and not doing anything special? Why do you think that is?

Nice one, sounds like they bodged the front to look straight (rather than be straight relative to the car) and then adjusted the rear from that. Tools.

Can who feel the burning sensation?? Ive had this conversation before, Roja were bought by Rays and those wheels (if they are Rojas) were made under license by Rays. The vast majority were sold as Gram Light 57F's, hence why I call them that, the design is identical.
-
Really, I had them on my car too ........... The pic you have posted is a GramLight 57S Pro, not an F (forged version), totally different wheel. If they are Rojas they are R2-5's anyway, not just "Rojas", there were various Gram Light designs released under that name (funnily enough the 57S is another one, R2-7 IIRC) but they are definitely better known as 57f Pro, I know about 5 other guys with sets. Another pic showing the difference between the various Gram Lights: All Im saying is that if you want to call them Rojas, there will be less recognition than if you call them Grams. If they dont have Roja stickers then they were probably sold as Grams in the first place.

Ooof, I remember losing a torque converter on a BMW 740, a head gasket on a Saab 9000, starter motor on a Nissan Silvia and something else terminal on another car all in one day a while back ........ silver lining was that it made me buy the 350

I think you overreacted then, moreover to a misunderstanding on your part. Her sex or hair colour had nothing to do with the accident, and Ive not suggested they did, but I maintain they were factors leading to her having the drive in the first place. Thats my opinion and Im entitled to it, whether it get bra burners riled up or not. If she has lost an eye then thats terrible, her career is over
-
Cragus - those are Gram Light 57F Pros, although you arent the first Ive heard to call them Rojas I reckon youd have more success if you advertised them as Grams. £1K + a set of Rays is a damn fine deal as well.
-
Bearings? As in wheel bearings? Do them first as they will get loud and annoying otherwise, then the bushes, then the droplinks.
-
You also need breath test things now as well.
-
Its insanely loud but makes a noise like a Ferrari. Give me about 3 weeks and Ill show you
-
They are a pretty poor Work Meister copy anyway, I really dont rate them. Try finding secondhand stuff instead for similar money, it will make your car look SO much better.

WTF? I think she has got the drive because of the publicity she will generate, that is because she is an attractive girl. If she was a guy with that driving history I dont think any F1 team would even consider her for it. The fact she crashed has nothing to do with gender, attractiveness or that her Dad was a racing driver, I havent suggested anywhere that it was, once again you are putting words in my mouth.
-
See thread title, no-one is asking for a comparison, its a "which is faster" Q: which is faster, a peregrine falcon or a snail? A: You cannot compare the two .......... doesnt really work does it??
-
So you are saying that theres no-one better suited to that job than a girl who hasnt ever won a race in any series she competed in apart from the Hyundai 1000km? Really? Compare that with Gary Paffett or Oliver Turvey ........... I have no idea why are you making a bold distinction that she is a girl or secondly that she isn't qualified enough? She didn't crash on track because of her lack of ability - it was after she had come off track. Early theories behind the accident have suggested the anti-stall mechanism on the car kicked in as she approached a makeshift pit area, suddenly propelling her into the truck. For christs sake, where did I say she crashed because she is a girl? I said she possibly got the seat because she is a girl ............ what is this, feminist week? All Im saying is that IMO there are dozens, probably hundreds of drivers that have more experience and would be a better choice as a test driver. If you dont agree, more power to you but dont start putting words in my mouth.

So you are saying that theres no-one better suited to that job than a girl who hasnt ever won a race in any series she competed in apart from the Hyundai 1000km? Really? Compare that with Gary Paffett or Oliver Turvey ........... dont get me wrong, I really hope she pulls through and goes onto do well in F1, but Im afraid I cant accept that she was in that seat purely for driving and experience reasons. I also hesitate to believe that it was a throttle/car issue when we havent seen anything like that happen in the last 15 odd years, Im prepared to be proven wrong but it sounds weird to me. EDIT: What the hell, Ive just noticed my comment got edited? Am I not allowed to hold an opinion, theres nothing wrong with pointing out that she will draw a lot more attention than other drivers, I didnt say anythign about females not being able to drive? I work with F1 and motorsport teams daily, you cant edit my comments because you are a mad feminist!!
