  1. Except my mirrors dont fold automatically and it doesnt lock itself either. Hmmmm.
  2. Not for a Zed. VIP style rims like that only work on VIP cars, they look a bit narrow for a Zed as well.
  3. Dynamically its a pretty good car out of the box, get a nice set of wheels and make it look pretty
  4. The Nexus has 8.5 hours of battery, the Kindle Fire 11, my "normal" Kindle is a month. Neither is an e-reader IMO as that simply isnt enough if you are travelling, or even forget to charge them overnight.
  5. expensive and heard they are a worse fit than the replicas? Mine went on with only very, very minor issues. So did the skirts and the bumper funnily enough, Chargespeed stuff is always pretty accurate in my experience Are you using the diffuser I gave you Wasso, I take it thats your preferred one
  6. Thats very interesting mate, like I say I thought I could feel a drop off when I didnt have a backbox as well but looked into it and it didnt seem to be an issue, maybe Z33's are affected mroe than other cars What percentage open/closed are you seeing at the moment?
  7. Crazy idea I know, but perhaps one made by .......... Chargespeed?
  8. No exhaust is going to be louder than an exhaust regardless of what it is - trust me, Ive tried it. Josh wins Neil - I spoke to Phil @ DW about power loss on NA cars with no backpressure (ie with one of these fitted), he said that its generally a bit of a myth, his V10 found another 50hp with one of these fitted. That said, Im sure mine did feel slower with the backbox off but that might have just been placebo, I dunno
  9. Its amazing how good an unsilenced VQ35 sounds, excellent work We managed about 3 hours of motorway driving with the silencer detached before the onset of insanity, its not so bad if you are in town and going round lanes
  10. This. There was an article somewhere a week or 2 ago on PH saying this has been scrapped Am I on ignore or something? Look 4 posts back
  11. Youre a bit late to the party, this went round a week or two ago. If you actually read the article its just a proposal, and even then isnt that draconian. If it was all non original parts then what would they do about tyres, brake pads etc or parts that are already fitted anyway? The words "Daily Mail" should have given you a clue See here: http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default ... ryId=26260
  12. But .......... Nissan dont sell anything for a fiver, not even sump washers
  13. Although some members of the forum seem to have a problem with me giving opinions, the E46 and Scooby arent as focused on "fun" as a Zed is, and the RX8 is a lesser (albeit amazing handling) version of the same thing IMO. Id still be looking at a Boxster although if youve got the cash, a Mk3 MR2 with some kind of copnversion would be amazing, Ive been using the missus for the last week and love it

    Commuter car

Said it before but Diesel Pugs are pretty difficult to beat if you dont want to go fast. If you are only looking for economy then sack off anything bigger than a Mandingo, Focus and smaller sized cars are fine on motorways these days
  15. £118 tax eh? Dont know how he manages that ........... I prefer those seats the the leather, they wear better as well. Half toying with the idea of making an offer actually ...........
  16. M3 has 4 seats, a useable boot, is a BMW and has a better interior too. Spurs Mad Daves attempts at satirical comedy are **** weak.
  17. http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php? ... Monaro-VXR Under 10K and its lovely, sounds like the apocalypse too ........
  18. Mmmm, not good. The printout is from a proper expensive piece of kit, youd hope they would use it properly If the camber was within limits with the Liberace tie rod it may be that its been crudely bodged to be like that which may be why they cant get it back where it should be, I still think the rear camber is too high for such a minimal drop though. tyre pressures can affect these things too, but again I cant see that all of your wheels have dodgy pressures. Id go back, tell them to read this: http://www.ehow.com/how_5099052_do-fron ... nment.html and then ask them why they didnt do it the first time, if its still not right then tell them you want your money back after taking it to somewhere that knows what they are doing.
  19. I think the megafacepalm is justified in this instance. Moving onto the grass while doing 150 mph with 21 other cars within spitting distance isnt standard practice funnily enough ......... The main thing that showed for me is how much better as a circuit Spa is than most, along with the other older tracks like Silverstone and Interlagos - when was the last time you had 2 totally different but equally valid aero strategies on the same course, and then overtaking nearly every lap? Bernie needs to think about doing something there as exciting Grand Prix are bad for the heart and stop me getting a couple of hours shuteye on a Sunday afternoon.
  20. Sadly, if the wheel came back off centre then they probably dont know what they are doing, I really cant see why you would have 5 degs camber one side and 2.3 on the other, certainly not from a 17mm drop. Id take it back, at the very least point out that you cant do alignment properly with the wheel off centre If those settings are right the car wont be handling anything like it should, you want to get it fixed pronto. Different wheels dont affect alignment, the best way to check coilover height is with them unloaded and measure from the mount point to part of the coilover body
  21. For some reason the keyboard (which I had) is similar money to the Touch (which Ive got) and the Touch is bigger. Agree with BBK too, you can always find Wifi though Ive had problems trying to buy books online while overseas a couple of times
  22. PSS > AD08. Not tried both on the same car TBF but personal opinion and feedback from mates supports it
  23. I had KU31's on my MR2, wanted to get new ones for the new wheels but found they were discontinued. Fromn the research I did, the KU19 is a more mainstream tyre and the KU39 is the direct replacement for the 31 HTH, I went with Yoko S-Drives in the end and they seem to be pretty good but Ive only driven out on them a few times
  24. Aye, if Im honest its unlikely Im going to mess with anything, when it was pissing with rain at Blyton I felt like I was only a little bit slower than in the dry and just as confident, which was nice. As you say going stiffer is going to compromise the wet handling and daily driving a bit, I was playing with the idea of some additional bracing rather than ARB's but Im pretty happy with it as is. Im very comfortable with the back trying to overtake the front - the technique is called shift lock in drifting and certainly since Ive got the bigger tyres on the back its the easiest way to initiate a drift unless Im already cornering ...... you just do it a bit less when you dont want to go ubersideways, if you H+T then the effect is considerably less pronounced as well Have you tried much other suspension apart from the V3's?? I know they are very highly rated but have always wondered how much better they are than an HSD or a Tein, for instance
  25. Its actually pretty amazing on track, the stupid wheels actually seem to work in harmony with the suspension and the grip is astonishing, Ive had 3/4 people get out with neck pain Ive done 4 or 5? track days with the car in its current state and dont remember getting overtaken by anything anyway It is a little bit soft I suppose but that suits the way I drive - I guess from drifting I use weight a lot more than most people Ive been out with, Im basically coming into most corners with the back stepped out, trail braking up to the apex and then feeding the power back on very quickly after the apex, again drifting has hardwired where the car is about to lose traction and with the size of the tyres as soon as you are winding lock back off you can floor it again. I had an awesome tussle with Horsham Jez at Bedford - considering his car is stripped, caged and uprevved (and hes a pretty shithot driver) and Im carrying about a hundredweight of filler and arches around with em I was pretty pleased Car is running HSD's set with about 80mm of droop, probably 1.5 degs camber on the front and 1 at the rear, standard caster and Im guessing a 45ishmm drop, 10J front wheels with 255 RE050A's, 11.5J rears with 285 RE050A's ......... and thats it, I cant even tell you what the exact alignment settings are as I dont want anyone touching them, its that good If you like those pics, did you see this one??
