  1. Got to the box yet man, I need one myself ........ Drop me a PM if you see this
  2. I know of a set of s/h genuine KICS Neo Chro R40s or sale Id steer well clear of those Ally Sickspeed ones as well, sub £20 on wheel nuts is not a good look IMO particularly with no thread reinforcement ....... how cheap do you think the fakes are 4RE??
  3. Those three lights at the same time usually mean your ABS has stopped working, might be worth a quick check of the sensors
  4. Why, in 2 pages of advice, has no-one suggested this? You could even drive it to another garage and get them to do it, it might be a 10p fix ......... i bought an MR2 last year, it had a big misfire and the engine light on. Took an OBD, discovered what the fault was, did a bit of research on my phone, picked the car up for half what it was worth and fixed it for £50. Sure, the dealer is a tool but if you can get the car cheap because of the faults then why not? Err I did suggest this? Sorry, missing the word "else" in my reply
  5. Mmmm, I dont think your man in the Zed was quite as confident as your man in the CTR. Few times hes correcting before an apex or even getting power down too early ........ you cant really blame him with instant death awaiting if he gets it wrong though
  6. That pic I put up there is on standard suspension, and is definitely 10 ET20, I dont think youve got the right wheels. That said the fitment youve got looks fine to my eye, it not a big problem is it?? If you really dont want any protrusion from the arch a degree of camber would fix it, they look pretty right to my eye already though

    new vs old

The older car had more torque, the newer one more power but the difference isnt that noticeable. Service history in my experience rarely has much effect on power. TBH if you want to be fast you are better off making sure you've got decent tyres and a decent driver than worrying about 10hp.
  9. Yep, Id do that before going mental on pads and disks TBH. Suspension is too soft OE for track IMO, if you dont want to go the whole hog then try uprated ARB's first, better tyres are a good shout too Did you see my mate Bren with his 600hp Silver V8 Skyline?? If so Id imagine it was only briefly .......
  10. If the wheel is sticking out the arch ........ your wheels arent 9.75 ET20. This is 10J ET20 ........ IIRC that was a 255 tyre, a 285 will be a bit wider but not that much
  11. A Z32 with a VG held the production speed record for aaaages, heres a pretty boring vid: The reason they get swapped out is that they can have cooling issues and are a bitch to work in in a Z32 bay, would probably be even worse in a Z33
  12. The rear fenders look a bit like the Falken drift car, which is alos a bit horrible TBH
  13. Aye, Z33 is a viscous unit, but a pretty good one IMO or at least my (also import) one is, its decent enough to use at a DWYB IMO anyway, I spent an enjoyable afternoon last year drifting round Blyton without too much trouble A decent 2 way will be much better but will be at least £350/400 secondhand, it will also make the back end a lot noisier. Id start with the standard diff and see if it holds you back, make the decision then
  14. Ive known a couple of these going into 200SX's, the first was a major disappointment, the guy had swapped out a 350hp SR20 for the UZ and after much pain, money and time ended up with a 290hp car thats only saving grace was that it sounded nicer. The other one was a budget conversion which the guy is happy with but again it took a lot longer than expected. If you want to do a V8 conversion on the cheap, the BMW M62 is definitely worth a look as well, there are some awesome drift cars running pretty much standard M62/S62's
  15. These 1/1/5/2/3 way things generally only apply to mechanical diffs, viscous diffs dont "lock" as such, they just transfer torque so dont really fall into any of the above. For reference a 1 way will lock on acceleration only, 1.5 acceleration and heavy braking, 2 way acceleration and braking and you might hear 3 way too, which is a welder thats locked permanently
  16. 6 speed Supra boxes (Getrag V160) cost more than the engines, the other option of a T56 is similar money too ....... and these are pretty much your options for 400+hp
  17. Im actually reeling at this, what utter, utter, utter crap. The tyres arent stretched, they arent the correct profile and while thats not a great thing, contrary to popular belief it doesnt mean you are going to instantaneously explode in a fireball when you turn the key. It certainly isnt illegal, I personally wouldnt expect a dealer to know every foible of every car in the world either, Ive litle doubt the previous owner put them on. Sure, our man the dealer doesnt seem to have the best PR skills in the world but once again the 350Z-UK overreacts massively because our cars are so incredibly powerful, lightweight and difficult to drive that a 5mm difference in tyre sidewall means this guy is a murderer in the making. Get real. Myfairlady, Id be more than interested to hear details of any sub 5K, never mind 4K cars youve got going as I fancy another one as a track weapon, Im also a realist and wouldnt expect it to be perfect for that money.
  18. Sikky do an LS conversion kit for the Z33, word on the street is that it doesnt affect the handling and balance that much at all. Extremely tempting ....... or you could just buy a Monaro
  19. A friend of mine has an LS2 with a Procharger in an S14, its running about 670hp. Its useless in anything other than bone dry and needs to be doing about 60 to get traction but Ive never driven anything as batshit fast as this is, you physically dont have time to look at anything other than the rapidly approaching road. It sounds like a Nascar too, which is never a bad thing Thats on 315 drag slicks but with standard suspension, you can hear it spinning through 3rd on the second run. Straight up, Id seriously consider whether you actually NEED a supercharger, its too much for the road IMO.

    S13 / 180SX

He PM'd me, heres what I said (Im the Chairman of the owners club BTW) There are a few about but nowhere near what there used to be a few years ago, best places to look ar www.sxoc.com/vbb and www.driftworks.com/forum If youre looking at importing one then Id strongly recommend using Rees@japanusedcars, tell him docwra sent you - Jurgen at JM Imports is also very good .......... although TBF if I was in that market Id be looking for a nice UK S13 and save myself £2K ....... http://www.driftwork...good-clean.html thats a specced, RB25 engined S13 for less than a clean Type X 180 would cost ......... although this one is bargainous: http://www.driftwork...20det-sale.html A late model 180SX Type X with a Z33 engine and gearbox in it would be approaching my perfect car, they are much lighter and more fun to drive than a Z33 but IMO handle like ass until money is spent on them
  21. VG30DETT has strong internals and can do good power, but its physically quite large, difficult to cool and generally not favoured as a conversion. Much more likely is the JZ out of Supras and Soarers, LS series V8's or even an SR20 which is cheap, light and easy to take to 400+ hp RB25's and moreso RB26's have a rep for being somewhat sensitive, and while turboing a VQ could be done, the cost of uprated internals, management, labour and all the other stuff would probably buy you 4 2JZ-GTE's already doing 450hp. Theres a reason all the drifty boys go JZ or LS

    Workmeisters

Ahhh, it was a Zed on Meisters that made me buy my car, possibly my favourite rims for the 350 but a little played out nowadays. Theres a few sets kicking around the UK, for S/H youd be looking at about £15/1600 IMO for a set with correct fitments in decent nick
  23. Power to weight is rather better on a 350Z than an 86 though, wider tyres will equal more grip and the torque is available much lower in the rev range. Id fancy my chances for sure.
  24. It was the missus I was more worried about, it was the longest she'd ever left me at home on my own. Great success.
