  1. Just remove the backbox entirely, it sounds epic.
  2. It may have been said on here before but the dials in the centre of the dashboard, the door handles and the rear quarter windows are copies of the original 240Z
  3. Hmmm, interesting this. I need a new backbox and seeing as Ill be selling up before too long dont really want to drop a grand on something thats not going to get me anything back, if these arent terrible I may well be tempted
  4. Id do it the other way round myself, always found coilovers stiffen a car up a lot, you can then tweak with braces and ARB's if you so desire Theres no correct answer, Id be careful not to go too stiff though as the compliance on the Zed makes it a really nice drive
  5. Just run away while you still have the chance They probably wont fit, if the offsets are good on an 8.5 you may find you cant clear the brakes. And even if they do, theres muuuuuuch better out there
  6. I can recommend a chap called Lam Duong, I didnt use his services myself but hes a good guy, hes actually just got a beautiful ring made for his lady. A pic of his car is below, can you guess how I know him?? Send me a PM and Ill direct you to him
  7. Aye, sounds like you would benefit from some new fluid and a good bleeding, made a world of difference on my car
  8. All the below is good advice but do it in the following order: TBH alignment and decent tyres will probably do the trick on their own. And I find the TCS does get in the way but youve probably got a fair amount of confidence to develop before you get there
  9. I just got a quote of £295 for lug nuts... still tempted.  I wasnt just tempted, I actually bought some.
  10. Listen to whoever but RE050A's are faaaar better than Vredesteins IMO, more feedback, more wet and dry grip and more everything. And whoever said that running different tyres front and back will noticably affect handling doesnt understand the difference between handling and grip. Believe me, Ive been through a lot of sets of tyres over the last 10 years, I had 8 pairs on the back of the 350 in the first 13 months ....... the only thing I cant give any feedback on is longevity As Ekona says "saloon car tyres" arent generally OE fitted to Porsches, Aston DB9's, Ferrari F430 and Maserati GT's
  11. This part worries me! You should be able to take corners as fast if not faster than a FWD car of similar chassis/spec....obviously this is not a rule of thumb that all RWD cars are quicker in the bends than FWD. Youve never driven a 306 GTI-6 then ........ But in FWD all of your weight is over the driven wheels, you can also shift weight past the point of drive more quickly. Which do you reckon is quicker in the wet??
  12. They are relatively planted as standard, if its feeling wobbly then Id get the alignment checked and if its still not right start looking at replacing suspension bushes. If you want less roll then ARB's are generally the first stop, TBH though Id just go straight for coilovers as its not a lot more money for a lot more effect.
  13. Dont remember paying £72K for my 350 though

    what wheels???

First set ......... look at Rota GTR-D's, much better than Lensos. Second set ........ MY EYES, MY EYES :scare:
  15. The 997 interior on the C2S I drove put me off the car - garish, shiny and generally a bit blingy. Like this: but with more silvery bits. Weird, as I really like everything pre 997, I think they had a recognisable style as well
  16. You did well, must have been the excellent advice you were given beforehand I personally run Bridgestone RE050A's, they are a bit cheaper than MPSS and not as good in the wet but I like the way they communicate. Toyos were good when I had them, if youre looking at that end of the market FK452 (or FK453's now) seem to be the tyre of choice. Do something about the exhaust too, they sound awesome once free'd up a little
  17. Whatever, get the master and slave cylinders checked before you do anything, the issue is not with the clutch or the flywheel.
  18. Youre going to replace the whole clutch assembly because the pedal is dropping when its hot? I'm not trying to poke fun or take the **** but you need to stop listening to whoever is giving you advice, as RTB says its going to be fluid related, not hardware related. Lightened flywheel will indeed make the engine rev faster but will also reduce engine braking, and make it a bit jerkier when moving off from a dead stop. It will also increase clutch wear slightly due to more slip from low revs
  19. So youre telling me your clutch is slipping because the standard flywheel is retaining heat produced by the engine, and a thinner flywheel will prevent it? You dont just think the clutch might be worn out ........... does it only happen when the engine is hot? This might be something Nissan thought of when designing the car, you never know C'mon man, if youre a race engineer then you know that's not the case, maybe on a finely tuned formula car it could be but this is an overweight, downtuned GT car we are talking about here, not once has anyone I know changed the mass of their flywheel to make a clutch stop slipping, thats ridiculous. Oh, and BTW, thickness and mass have considerably less bearing on heat conduction and retention than material and environment but you know that as well I expect
  20. Sorry, thought you were talking 276, no spacer available for 313 as it already has one However, you might want to revisit whoever told you underbonnet heat causes the clutch problems and that a lighter flywheel will fix it, thats a creative one to say the least Its your money at the end of the day but in my experience uprated clutches tend to be heavier and grabbier, I dont see the point in spending cash on a part thats going to be less nice to use but gives you no dynamic improvement.
  21. Why shouldn't I,seems like a good idea. Any reason why it shouldn't be upgraded,I ask out of ignorance concerning the Z. More money for no better performance, the standard clutch does the job fine You'd be better putting the money into braided hoses, plenum spacer etc. IMO
  22. The flywheel I can understand but why would you want to uprate the clutch??
  23. Alreet Phil. Check post #67 Wow! I need to start befriending some painters! :o Aye, I was about to say that isnt a good guideline for future reference, Id get mine done twice a year if it was
  24. Why? Probably because as far as they are concerned it is just "banter" - not very nice Ill grant you but I cant honestly imagine they are so unhappy they would destroy a womans life and accept a 15 stretch. Replace "rape" with "savagely beat" and you arent far off what I say Ill do to Roy Hodgson if he plays that donkey James Milner again, if Id had a couple of pints Id be tempted to tweet it to him as well If you want to see real abuse, check out @piersmorgan's timeline, I dont recall him crying about it though.
