  1. Race pistons and rods, really? Got more information there?
  2. No, Ive had painters and machine operators in there before but ......... well, you know the situation, not much hope for anyone in there now Ive got machinists at Toro Rosso though, and Mark Kember, one of your laminators used to work for me here in the office, most of the other connies will know who I am too
  3. I bought a set of wheels from a guy who traded in his Zed for a Z4M. He could have been unlucky but the car had been off the road for long periods due to electrical problems. At the end of the day though they've got about 30 bhp more than an HR and are half a second quicker to 60, you really need something like TVR if you want any significant performance increase. Pete TVR, ha! VX220 Turbo, with a £300 remap 0-60 in a touch over 4 seconds And the TVR will come back past when it tops out at 120 0-60 times are for Top Gear and girls, real men quote 0-130 and standing quarters. Which the VX will still win, but y'know
  4. Excel Technical Consulting, we mainly do aerospace and composite recruitment. Drop me a PM if you might be looking
  5. Fair play to you, I only ask as I supply CNC machinists all over the world, including into a couple of F1 teams Have to say its really nice to see a trader who not only understands but also clearly has a passion for what he does, Ill certainly be in touch nect time I need some new dampers
  6. Aye, weve got a ZZW30 as well and after handing Ekona his ass at Anglesey the other day in it Im quite liking it too
  7. Absolutely bang on the money, Id even go as far as to say a Zed on winter tyres is potentially better than a Scoob on summer tyres, its slowing down and turning where you generally have problems
  8. Dont listen to the haters, they are superb cars and probably wont lose much more value. Id agree you should look at the Porsches as well but I dontt hink youd be disappoint with a Z4M
  9. Cracking post, nice work MeisterR Out of interest though, why does the machining have to be done in the UK though, CNC machines and programs are the same the world over arent they?
  10. Of all the places, this thread turns up on a Fairlady owners club .......... Datsun are undisputed masters at stupid car names - Cherry, Stanza, Violet, Bluebird, Sunny, Cedric, Largo, Rasheen, Laurel and Serena are all painfully bad (unless you happen to be an urban homosexual) and it makes you wonder if they did it deliberately And Adam was ficticious unless you are a creationist, in which case your opinion doesnt matter.
  11. Id have been more interested in the dry bits around it TBH Where is that and how did you get onto it?
  12. Backwards entry it with proof it was deliberate and ill pay the tyre bill Wide rears are no problem, I had the MR2 transitioning on the lockstops at Anglesey a little while ago, and you cant drift an MR2 No handbrake on the Zed might make it a bit tricky mind you. I am DEFINITELY going to try and drift it though, rude not to As for speed comparisons, check this out:
  13. I was thinking about this on the way to work, I wonder if its more of a perception thing. On my average drive to work I probably pass 50 cars but only about 5 cyclists. If I was on a bicycle Id probably still only see 5 cyclists but Id see about 1500 cars and lorries. If we say 1% of each group are a menace on the roads, then it would take me 20 journeys before I saw one dodgy cyclist, but if I was on my Raleigh Burner Id see 15 bad car drivers every day, no? Hence cyclists accuse car drivers of being dangerous, because they have more exposure to the dickheads If you are a cyclist stop reading here. Except I dont, Im seeing 1-2 riders with a death wish every day, if I went into Cambridge Id probably see a dozen. Ergo, by the power of statistics and probability, bicyclists are 300 times more likely to be a bad road user
  14. docwra

    cheap tyres.

You sure you dont mean RE040s? RE050A are excellent, they are also about 40% more expensive ..........
  15. Obviously a bit late to the pary but I bought an Asus Zenbook UX31 recently and I absolutely adore it - speed of EVERYTHING, way it looks and feels, screen and sound quality, its the knackers
  16. Are you sure you need them? 10mm is generally safe enough to run on standard studs ..........
  17. Its a rare one to be sure - IIRC theres a twin turbo VH45 in Shane Lynch's Japspeed S15 .......... indeed there was: http://www.driftworks.com/forum/drift-car-projects-builds/111224-japspeed-vh45de-twin-turbo-s15.html This guy in France put on in an S13: https://www.driftworks.com/forum/drift-car-projects-builds/123570-s13-vh45de.html And everyone else I can think of gave up before they finished the project. Would be rather amazing though, step to it
  18. No but i have covered 2000 miles on the bike this year, including cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats....though I do understand London is by far the most important part of the UK, and it's residents are clearly superior to every one else in the country So what about Cambridge then, are you telling me that we dont have enough cycle paths or that the general standard of riding here is even legal?
  19. I think mine will be for sale soon as well, putting a price on it is almost impossible though - start off with what you would like for it but be aware that the chances are you'll have to drop the price a bit before it goes
  20. Speeding doesnt really bother anyone though, and I dont think I know any car drivers who regularly ignore red lights or 1 way streets .......... The missus rides a horse BTW, and while Im not a great fan at least they usually travel in single file, you might annoy them but youre unlikely to pile into the back of one because youve got nowhere else to go
  21. The first one is an FWD car trying to drift, that @*!#'s never going to fly. The second guy may have a relatively standard car but ANYONE who drifts with their arm that far out of the window is a penis. The third car is an Impreza with £600 of gauges, a rollcage but 2 inch intercooler piping leading to something that wouldnt look out of place with toast on it
  22. Hah, youve all got it easy, try living in Cambridge. On average I get 1 a year drive into my car (that Im driving at the time, dont even bother about parked cars) and I find it amazing how it stupid things like traffic lights and one way streets dont apply to them. Sure, there are plenty of considerate cyclists around and more power to them but to have someone rant at you after they have driven into your car thats been stationery for 5 seconds because you saw them coming is quite an experience. We have a new one round here though, 2-4 cyclists riding line abreast (sometimes right onto the other side of the road) on the country lanes which is tantamount to suicide IMO, its only a matter of time before one gets hit. In the last two weeks Ive had them moving over to block me going past them, and then coming up a line of traffic on the drivers side when you reach a junction, effectively blocking the whole junction while you wait for a gap big enough for them to cross. I saw a cyclist nearly get killed when he was on the RHS of a van waiting to turn right, about 4 ft onto the wrong side of the road, when a car coming down the main road turned right across the front of the van he came within inches of hitting him as he couldnt see he was there - once again, car drivers fault, cyclist launches into massive rant, I nearly got out and clocked him one. Ive got no issue with cyclists in general but they need to remember that if bad things happen, they are always going to come off worse, taking risks and ignoring the rules of the road are not the best idea.
  23. Thanks for this guys, Ive got a trackday booked at Spa in October ...........
