  1. I didnt say RON was a direct indication, I said the more octane present then more resistant to knock a given fuel is if you want to be pedantic. As far as the poor det detection on the VQ35DE, lets be honest, if Nissan had got the 350Z right first time there wouldnt be a bloody great bit strut brace taking up half the boot either From what Ive read the detection is considerably better on the HR (and Im guessing the RevUp as well) which is why running lower octane fuel isnt such an issue.
  2. Its nowhere near as bad as Chernobyl and I dont recall that affecting anyone outside of Ukraine really ........... as far as Ive read theres no real current concern about the cores "melting into the earth" like there was immediately after the disaster, getting rid of the irradiated water is an issue but its not like they are just pumping it into the sea is it? My hope and belief would that if it was shown that dangerous levels of radiation are leaking into the Pacific then the whole world would get involved to fix it, and like I say, Chernobyl was much worse but was eventually controlled.
  3. Tricky-Ricky, you sound like youre kinda stabbing about trying to say something without really knowing why youre saying it ........... Knock detection on a lot of cars isnt worth a rub, the S13 200SX and original Scooby spring to mind, so its not beyond the realms of possibility that the VQ35DE is similar. Also, octane rating is directly related to knock, the more octane present the more compression the fuel can withstand before detonation, so its perfectly reasonable to say that the car should be run on 97+ The fact that there is proof that running 95 RON can cause issues should really be enough shouldnt it?? Predetonation is also far more likely to cause big end failure than ring damage as well .......... but this is no reason to describe the DE as fragile, word on the street is with uprated rods and pistons the DE is good for and easy 500+ hp. Put the right motion lotion in and youre away
  4. I bet it improves overall economy as well.
  5. Very commendable. Now watch the videos on this page: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=3cd_1380579664 and this one: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=81e_1380656714 Why should you pull over just because there more than 12 bikers? Being in a big gang doesnt give them the right to do what they want, I think the RR driver should be given some kind of award
  6. Ive got to say, even in the few years Ive been frequenting this place its got a lot better in pretty much every respect, well done to those running it.
  7. No, because foreign aid comes back to us 10 fold when the countries get back on their feet again - for example, look at the Indian automotive industry and what its doing for us right now. Its investment, and as with any investor you expect to see a return at some point be that better political relations, better opportunities for UK companies to work overseas or simply development that we can benefit from in the future, not to mention the humanitarian aspect. Once again its the curse of the Daily Mail headline, no-one looks past the words "foreign aid" to actually see where the money is going because the Mail says they dont have to.
  8. Im regularly on Liveleak, and theres now video showing the same bikers intimidating cars before the event, riding on pavements and generally being arseholes. Theres also another video from a year ago of the same bikers attacking another car that got in their way ......... think they probably had it coming TBF, well done Rangey driver
  9. I saw this and thought of you. Weird, I look at your posts and think of this: I personally think its a positive addition to any forum to have someone who has actually driven a variety of cars in a variety of situations and is able to express his thoughts - sure, you might not agree with them but as he says, they are a shedload more valid than a tool who only drives when hes in bed, fast asleep. Ekona and his (sometimes outspoken) opinions bring a lot to this message board and club in general, whereas you just seem to bring a bad attitude and not much to say. Im sure you are really pleased with your comments here but theres nothing in them - no content, no opinion, no fact, you arent an MP's assistant are you? Same as anything, if you dont like what youre reading then dont read it.
  10. A little? Jesus man, understatement of the millenium ........... two graphs. First shows average temperature, second shows emissions, are you telling me the two arent linked? Of course, there will be natural warming and cooling going on but its pretty clear that use of fossil fuels is intrinsically linked to global warming. Whether that justifies taxing the ass off us is another argument but you cant claim that mankind has had some input ..........
  11. If youd done that you would find there is far, far more evidence that our actions are causing global warming than there is to say we arent affecting anything. The increase of the ice cap, as someone else has said here is down to a solar minimum, not anything we have/havent done. I hate to say it but when you are quoting the Daily Mail and a guy with no background in climate science who has been proven to be a sensationalist to back up and argument most people would tell you to dig bit deeper yourself. Like this, for instance: http://www.climatechange.gov.au/sites/climatechange/files/documents/03_2013/prof-plimer-answers.pdf
  12. Its not quite that straightforward, Mallory had an agreement dating back to 1985 regarding noise that they had been forced to breach recently to remain financially viable. The court ruled in favour of the residents rather than the racetrack so theyve got nowhere to go Lets see how happy they re when they get a large housing association estate replacing the circuit shall we? From what I hear Castle Combe will probably go the same way before too long as well
  13. For me, this thread kinda highlights the whole issue - despite some clear posts in the first couple of pages and a couple of stories from people who know firsthand that its not possible to live comfortably on benefits, we still have people talking about those who "play" the £76 p/w system, ATOS and disability benefit being brought into it (which are nothing to do with this particular policy) and you can tell the general feeling is negative towards anyone who isnt "paying their way" - the vast majority of people on benefits are there for a reason, very few "choose" to do it. When we have two wars going on, large scale tax avoidance and an ever increasing pension bill, is £300m or whatever really a big enough deal to make it a major government policy? Its just headline grabbing at the cost of those least able to defend themselves (like the introduction of ATOS and the ESA).

    Exhaust

Cheers CS, is that delivered? If not, can I get my friends at TNT to pick one up??

    Exhaust

Im suffering same problem, mine needs replacing as it actually sounds broken but theres nothing S/H coming up within budget I think I might have to buy a K1 ......... whats the best price (and where) on a Cobra though?
  16. But surely bringing in more people isn't the answer to filling jobs that out doleys dont want.......and I have no beef with immigrants who do work and do the jobs that others deem below them. Sorry, the last time we "brought immigrants in" was in the 1950's ........ as part of the EU we cant stop EU people coming in, and anyone from outside the EU has to prove a case for asylum or already have a job lined up. If they lose it, they leave, whats wrong with that? Without being funny, if you re losing jobs to immigrants in your home country, speaking your own language then you need to try a bit harder anyway There is certainly a section of the unemployed that wont take jobs as they feel its "beneath" them but I bet you there are 20 times more people who would do anything to get back into work but cant due to not being suitable for whatever is available, thats another DM myth for you though. A lot of the failings of the whole country are down to this kind of paper selling propaganda, people read the (generally sensationalist) first few lines of an article and then adopt that as their attitude without actually looking into the facts. My politics are pretty right of centre so I should be having a field day with this, but I cant ignore actual fact and evidence that shows this is all just a charade by the government to try and win middle class votes, sadly the opposition dont have the balls to stand up to it though. Makes you wonder how much other @*!# we get fed and just accept as true .........
  17. Ricey isnt far off the money (EDIT: and Wizurd is bang on) - this is a non-problem that the media have whipped up into being something we all think is affecting us. The actual amount of "benefit scroungers" is tiny and has next to no effect on the public purse, but "going after them" makes for good headlines so thats all we hear about. Pensioners commit considerably more benefit fraud than any other part of society, why isnt the government going after them? Why dont we hear about the dozens of people who are dying every week after their disability benefit is being suspended while its "investigated"? What about the fact that theres not actually enough jobs to go round, what are we going to do with the 2 million odd that physically cant find work because theres no jobs they are mobile/qualified/intelligent enough/presentable enough to do? Making people work for less than minimum wage is against the law, so how can the government justify making people work for £70 per a week, less their expenses getting to work? Its bullshit, another policy designed to become a headline in the Daily Mail that sadly 95% of the population will lap up, rather than actually think about.
  18. Would you sell one passenger mat on its own dude? Let me know, Im in need
  19. How modified? This modified? [ Mechanically its fairly standard but the bodywork is all one off, as is paint and wheels

    Best tyres

Hate to say it guys, but the "best" tyres are the most expensive. T1's and Falkens are great, but they dont compare to MPSS in price or performance.
  21. So is it not the same for men then? I havent seen anyone with a belly like mine on a magazine cover/advert/fashion show for a while .............
  22. Hensh, you seem like a proper nice bloke, fair play to you, a lot of people would be taking that the wrong way and having a right go The point Im trying to make (much like the last thread ) is that its difficult to give an accurate description of a car until youve driven it yourself, and when people are asking for buying advice it can muddy the waters quite a lot. S2K and 350Z is a great example, its only once youve driven both that you realise how different they are
  23. I hate to seem like Im targeting you, but the F20C is a different world from anything fitted to a Civic OE, particularly when mated with the gearbox. Real world, back to back the Zed is generally quicker 95% of the time because of the availability of the torque across the range a lot more than its peak figures. And since when has 0-60 had anything to do with any cars real performance? As plenty of others have said, the driving experience between the two is completely different and thats not something you are going to be able to express with numbers on a bit of paper. ETA: Horst von Shawarma could tell me that himself, I still wouldnt believe it.
