  1. Yep, that was me that said it. The RS is considerably quicker (I test drove one), the ST is pretty comparable (my brother has one, Ive done 500+ miles in it) and the EP3 and old VXR arent "current", obviously. Moreover, having been on track recently with a few well driven 182's and theres very little in it. Introduce rain in any of these situations and the FWD is going to be showing you the way. You might struggle to believe its true, as I said earlier get out and drive a VXR or FRS and you'll realise what Im talking about.
  2. Remove the GTR and the 370Z and you are left with some unerringly dull bastard cars in the Nissan range. Remove the VXR8 and the VX220 from Vauxhall's recent model range and you still have the Corsa, Astra and Insignia VXR's and dont forget you can still buy a UK Maloo Im not just arguing for the sake of it, every car club suffers from the same issue of sticking their own car/marque on a pedestal, sometimes a gentle reminder is needed
  3. Heh, people do this with Fords as well, it amuses me A Lotus Carlton or even a 24v GSi, Manta 400, Monaro/VXR8, Magnum, Chevette HS, Firenza and of course the Bedford Rascal in the UK are all pretty desirable IMO, but if you include GM the list is endless .........
  4. Im with Ekona here - when the Zed came out then yeah, it was a proper nice car that people would aspire to own. Now, 12 years on, when its starting to show its age, has been superceded, can be picked up for under £5K and is outperformed by your average hot hatch its really not all that ............ its great that the owners hold it in such high esteem but I bet the majority would take the VXR without even having to think about it. And trying to argue that Nissan has a greater motorsport heritage than Vauxhall/GM is ridiculous, outside of Japan Nissan have been minor players. Its not about belittling the 350Z, its a great car (that might be why we own them), its about taking a step back and realising that there are better cars out there. I get the same response from some people on SXOC when pointing out that the Zed is a better car, some people see the logic but others just cant accept it. As I always say, get out and drive some newer stuff and recognise that automotive development doesnt stand still - a 2014 VXR is a very different prospect to a 2002 SRI, believe me, Ive tried both in the last 6 months.
  5. ROFL @ this, a VXR is a £30K car for a reason
  6. Good to see the high and mighty brigade getting involved here, if youve never had a burn up off the lights then why dont you save yourself the fuel and buy a Micra?
  7. HAVE IT! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/911-c2-porsche/181293311926?_trksid=p2045573.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D16581%26meid%3D3994972582955435639%26pid%3D100033%26prg%3D7839%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D2%26sd%3D111251614114%26 He would take 8K and Honest Docwra promises you its a good un

  9. Your Google not working then? Or your eyes, check the link above and it tells you ............
  10. Minimum wage or a little bit above is about what you can expect unless youve got decent experience and qualifications, holidays are minimum 5.6 weeks
  11. It can be amusing, it used to be brilliant back in the day but got a bit hater filled more recently. IIRC someone put a competition spec driftcar on there and took the **** of the condition of the bodywork, nice one lads The shed of the month/week etc. is worth a look, some proper horrors on there EDIT: Sounds like Coldel has a story like mine too. Worth seeking out the thread about the Barryboy member who took beats at a show for taking the **** as well, that raised a chuckle when I saw it last
  12. Its better on fuel than my Range Rover believe it or not
  13. As per title, 1987 Rolls Royce Silver Spur in some form of green with Cream leather interior - just under 56K miles on the clock, full RRSH, no faults or issues other than the temp gauge isnt working, we replaced one of the sensors and the thermostat only to find out there are another 4 apparently  - they arent expensive and easy to get to though, I imagine a multimeter would identify which was the problem fairly quickly. Even if this doesnt sell, Ill leave this here as a reference to what an actual "Mint" car looks like - its never been driven on wet roads and is absolutely immaculate, the engine bay could be from a 3 month old car and the interior is totally unmarked, not to mention amazingly comfortable. It has the picnic tables and lambswool rugs, I think everything else is standard but its a Roller, the quality is amazing. It drives beautifully as well, riding better than anything Ive ever been in and the transmission is unbelievable, you honestly dont feel it change gear. The best bit is the smile it puts on everyones faces, inside the car and outside, you dont get that with a BMW My best mate is having to sell as he has just had a baby and his Missus isnt too well, its breaking my heart, never mind his to do this but needs must. He paid 5 figures for it last year but needs the cash, so will take £7500, and it really needs to be gone ASAP, let me know if you might be interested Pics:
  14. G Man, you might well be the wisest man on this board but you are pretty clearly avoiding admitting that you dont know that Scotland would be granted EU membership, as no-one actually does. Scotland may well be part of a member state but they dont have any economic, legal or democratic systems in place, all of which are specifically mentioned in the Copenhagen Criteria. When it would appear that remaining in the EU is one of your main reasons for supporting independence, yet you dont actually know this will happen, for me that underlines exactly what I said in my first post:
  15. No you are taking it out of context, it is the only way of ensuring that Scotland remains a member of the EU, by whatever negotiation is needed. The UK government, or rather the political party that is in charge at the moment, is committed to a referendum to leave, this is something that Scotland does not want, so the only way of ENSURING we stay in is independence. I thought that was an obvious point, happy to clarify So how do you know Scotland will be extended the offer of membership when Iceland and Turkey havent? This is the question Im asking that seems to have been avoided for the last two pages, this is what I want to know. I know, 100%, cast iron, first article, etc, that if the UK rejects the referendum to leave the EU we will remain members. How do you know that an independent Scotland will become an EU member to the point that "its the only way of ENSURING" you stay in?
  16. Sorry Vik, but that is the whole sentence as typed, and if "Independent Scotland is the only way for Scotland to remain in the EU" then it assumes membership will be granted, which for me is one of the biggest unanswered questions here. Im sure G Man is the font of all knowledge and can produce light just by dropping his trousers but as per my post on the last page, a lot of the reasons for independence hang on assumptions that in some cases havent even been addressed by Salmond, which is more than a little worrying, no?
  17. Im not, promise - he seems quite vocal about the fact that England/whats left of the UK could leave EU subject to a referendum (which is totally correct) but doesnt seem to address the issue that theres no guarantee that Scotland would remain a member come independence day:
  18. G Man, youre doing a great job of arguing about Cameron, but where does it say that Scotland would retain EU membership should it gain independence? You find me that and Ill happily print out this whole page and eat it.
  19. A mate of mine is selling a pretty mint Navy Blue one with GT3 rims, hes just had the gearbox overhauled, new MPSS on the back, sports exhaust, full service etc. - really nice car And he would take £8K for it I reckon as hes itching to go skiiing ............. you know you want to
  20. Youre making a massive assumption that the EU will extend membership to an independent Scotland though ............. and thats my main issue with this. Everything Ive seen from Salmond has been assumption (oil and gas income, armed forces, retaining Sterling) rather than set in stone definites, and as such I think a fair proportion of those with the choice are being mislead somewhat.
  21. Knocked off GTA:V before Christmas and have just completed Assassins Creed, Black Flag - most enjoyable if a bit easy.
  22. Blimey, 1878, didnt think it would be that high 33,606 on SXOC though, I could have done a degree in that time I reckon
  23. Ahhh, a lot of the drifters have big love for the Mark II, Mark X, Crown, Laurel etc, they are amazing luxobarges Unfortunately theres one particular Mark X that wins at everything:
