  1. Exactly what my brother used to do, TBH youre best off just going to a lighting designer and telling him what you want, theres a lot more to it than you might think
  2. Dont want to be funny mate, but if it comes in 4 door and estate "versions" that generally makes the 2 door a coupe
  3. Thats kinda the problem yer man has already mate, if you dont know someone "friendly" then youve got to change them anyway
  4. The Police (or VOSA actually) wont do anything other than give you a rectification notice anyway, you may as well run full decats IMO.
  5. See what Arkwright said, thats exactly what happens to most. Pay large amounts of money for license, pay more money for type rating, fail to find work (youve got no experience), pay to keep up currency, medicals, pay for companies to even look at your CV ............. and if youre really, really lucky you'll get a job paying half what a plumber earns. If youre not ex Forces with flight experience, or a graduate thats been taken on by an airline then its a hell of a risk to take.
  6. I recruit for them, I wouldnt personally recommend it as a career unless youve got some contacts or are prepared to relocate somewhere weird
  7. If its a 4 cylinder then its got to be an S chassis, Eh? That makes no sense, the new Z will continue the trend of not being a Z chassis? S-chassis also donut pretty well, I know, I got a world record in one Also R-chassis is a very different prospect to GTR, I dont know anyone who has hankered after a RB20E R33 The C10, C11, R32 and R34 were pretty clearly coupes, and the R33 was a fat coupe, I think its safe to say that the R35's are coupes as well, albeit all have 4 seats. Any new Nissan Coupe that was going to be successful would have to come in at the same money as a GT86 or MX5 IMO, so £30K, with the GTR up at £80K these days thats a hell of a gap for a new, big engine Z chassis to fill .......... maybe as a direct competitor to the F Type, Cayman and lower end 911's. That said, with a new Supra and new NSX on the horizon, who knows, the new Z could be direct competition for them leaving the S to duke it out int he class below, will be interesting to see
  8. Its not even the people you were insured with generally, its a credit company that you make the agreement with.
  9. Yep, exactly as I read it and I have to say I was surprised, thanks to Ekona for educating me on something this morning. Also agree with stew, the 123d is an awesome car and the M135i a very quick one, I cant see that a Scirocco would come close to either
  10. I do this in my Range Rover :o I also havent washed it since I bought it
  11. Heh, Will seems to be making up about 75% of this thread Driving to work on Weds and theres a bit of a puddle on the road - not a flood, but covering the whole surface, maybe 2-3 inches deep at the most, I was behind another car doing about 25 mph. Other car drives into the puddle then all of a sudden slams on the anchors and puts her hazards on, I nearly stoved straight into the back of her. We sit there for about 20 seconds then she starts to creep off really, really slowly until out of the puddle then drives off. Car in question? :scare:
  12. I had an Integrale and didnt find it a problem other then punching the drivers door going for the handbrake every time I parked up
  13. Nothing to do with me but if you need an engine I reckon you could buy it, flog the brakes, weigh the rest in and youre laughing: http://www.driftworks.com/forum/drift-cars-sale-private-sales/215892-2003-nissan-skyline-350gt-1700-a.html
  14. Some places (football stadiums, arenas etc.) have banned them as they cant tell if you are smoking an e-cig or a proper fag, understandable I guess
  15. Not true: Ive pretty much given up smoking ciggies now, I used to be a 20 Benson a day man but the cost got too much so I switched to rolling baccy. Not only is it a shedload cheaper, Ive naturally progressed to smoking less and less so Im now at the point where I might have a cheeky one on the way to work but thats it, other than that I only smoke when I drink (unfortunately I drink all the time ). Its taken no thought or effort on my part, its just kinda "happened" and I know a few other lads who are similar, might be worth a go if you dont get on with the e-cig things
  16. They look nothing like Emotions, theyve got bloody great big fake bolts (which are as gay as it comes BTW) all round the rim, the spoke and lip design are different too As a major wheel whore (I had 40 odd JDM wheels at one point) theres not a lot of comparison other than they are round IMO, I guess its down to you whether you consider this: to be the same as this:
  17. But weigh less, look better, will last longer, hold value etc. Beware fake XXR's as well (seriously), only be buying from a listed distributor
  18. 3 hours is ridiculous, you could fit 6 in that time, 12 if it was all on adaptors. I paid £30 for mine and it took 45 minutes without using the adaptor, I say look elsewhere.
  19. Of course Ive read what youve written, but I still think deciding that you want a tat and then trying to figure out what it will be is doing it the wrong way round. If you want inspiration is it not easier just to search google images? By all means ignore me BTW
  20. www.sxoc.com/vbb is brilliant, sadly its in decline a little now as the cars just arent as popular as they were but at one time you could ask a question on anything from love life advice to nuclear physics and know it would be answered accurately within 1/2 an hour, I still post up mechanical problems with my other cars there before the actual owners clubs as generally the response is faster and better, theres a real extended family thats built up over the years as well. This place reminds me of SXOC about 6/7 years ago as well, I have no doubt it will mature into the same thing - we missed our chance to branch out and keep it growing so I doubt it will ever be the same again, but the 350 and 370 are popular cars that are still at the higher end of the price scale, Ive got to add that this place is well moderated with some good members as well, long may it continue ETA: MArtinmac is spot on, a good forum becomes much more than just the cars and their owners, you get a real sense of community and meeting up in person is essential IMO, again the team here do a cracking job of organising events, thats what keeps the club together - I estimate at least 30% of SXOC members havent owned a 200Sx for years but they keep coming back, this place is the same
  21. Apologies for being a right ****, but doesnt asking other people what they think you should have as a tattoo kind of defeat the object? If you cant think of something then maybe its best to wait until you can?
  22. My initial thought was a methane vent/monitor for old landfill sites, theres quite a few round here but they dont tend to have locked lids. CUT IT OFF.
  23. Hmmm, got me thinking about decats and manifolds now, going to trackify the GTI-6 first as Im at Rockingham and possibly Snetterton in March but might tinker with the 2 as well ....... keep us updated mate
  24. Autotesting and hillclimbs are a good bet to start with as it doesnt get a lot cheaper and you can suss out if youre happy and able to put in the time and money. For me its the time that makes it a non starter, for a 10 race season thats 10 weeks of travelling on a Friday night and losing the whole weekend, Im not prepared to do that, I certianly dont want to spend £5K confirming it ...........
  25. A stage 1 is 260hp and 400nm, stage 2 is 290hp and 440nm, both from 2500 to 4K RPM, its an uprated intercooler and maybe injectors as well as a map.
