Mine is the same, notice it only happens once heat gets into the fluid. Weird, as Ive never had it with any other car .........
-
Cool. For future reference a 20mm spacer tends to move the outer face of the wheel outwards by 20mm

Furry muff, in that case I can tell you that you are right, caliper clearance can be an issue (which is why I have 75mm arch extensions ) but disc information, manufacturers info and real life experience are often more reliable than calculations. On the weak bit, I personally believe 9.5 ET10 and 10 ET10 is perfect for a 350Z, youre a lot on the smaller side than that, do you already have the wheels? If so, are you spacing them to make them look better? Im a bit confused by all this, Ive had probably 20 sets of wheels for various cars and all Ive ever checked is the offset calculator, Im still not sure what you are trying to achieve here - if the wheels are going to catch the calipers then just buy lower offset wheels ........
-
M135i is IMO a better car than the 350 in pretty much every respect. 1M is a better car than a M135i as well (although its a bit slower) My next car will almost certainly be one of the above, I like the E92 M3 but its feels a bit big and needs to be caned to get the best out of it.

5 things: 1: there are offset calculators to work out these kind of things online 2. the setup youve finished up with is a bit weak, TBH 3. theres no difference in performance or grip on an 18/19, only weight 4. What are you trying to achieve, why are you going to run spacers? 5. Are you actually asking anything here?

Youve got to go to the Pistenklause for steak, hot stone cooking FTW. Ive stayed just up the road from there but cant remember the name of the place, theres loads in that immediate area though

I dont think you will be able to get an 11 ET15 under unmolested fenders at all, if you did there would have to be mad camber and stretch involved. This dude is running 19x11 ET18 with a 295/30 and has rolled and slightly pulled the arches, This one is 19x11 ET22 with a 295/30 and he has also rolled the rears but hasnt pulled them at all

Pug 207 here, 65 mpg, quick enough and very comfortable, gets used for everything over 100 miles and its great Mother outlaw has a 308, same car but a bit bigger

My Zed never ceases to impress me everytime I take it on track, the feedback from the chassis means you can easily play with it right on the limit, the low down grunt means its gets out of corners and adds the speed relatively quickly and it telegraphs everything so if it does go wrong youve got days to catch it. It bats well above its average and suprises a lot of people, not as much as the guy behind me in the Clio 182 does but thats another story

Try Clark Motorsport rather than Zmanalex directly

So my Japanese car has "transformed" into an American one (Got her home )

.As asked a few pages back , whats it drive like? -
That is beautiful

Sorry, the Mini wasnt FWD? Must have missed that one. And when they already make: and this new thing doesnt look too bad and TBF to them, when Mercedes and Audi already make numerous cars that want to be vans, you cant really blame Bimmer for jumping on the bandwagon really.

Third and final time of trying here - In not asking about the knock sensor retarding ignition because of lower RON fuel (we all known it does that), Im talking about it advancing ignition because it detects higher RON fuel. If the ECU doesnt do this you could put 120 RON fuel into the car and it wouldnt make any difference, so youre wasting your money buying anything over 99 RON
-
Thats Paris dude.
-
Never realised Golf 1.4's were the cars of winners TBH Everyone needs an economical hatchback in their lives, mine is a Pug 207 known as Sir Puglington by its usual driver
-
1. 97 RON doesnt cause any problems, Ive been running it for years on track, drifting, all sorts. 2. I think you misunderstood my post. The ECU will retard the ignition timing if it senses knock occurring (the sign of lower octane fuel) but I dont believe it advances the timing if it senses 101 RON, for instance, and if its not changing the timing then its unlikely theres any benefit being gained rfom running 100+ RON

Still thinking like this now youve got to come up with a new currency and economic system if you gain independence? I cant see the Euro being offered up to Scotland by the EU as things stand, and I cant see Scotland getting membership if that is the case. Salmond and Sturgeon (why are they all named after fish) will be crying into their Tennents Super tonight I reckon
-
Did you read the first page? I did and I have no idea what you are on about. Does anyone actually know if a Zed can advance ignition timing to make the most of higher octane fuel? If it cant (which I suspect) then anything over 99 RON isnt actually going to make any difference to performance, despite what your arse dyno is telling you, the only car Ive ever had that adjusted timing up and down depending on fuel quality was a Saab 9000 and that was damn trick at the time.

agreed but no one has said that, they have said they dont like the cars not the badge Im struggling here, youve said that you dont like BMW's, explain to me what an M6 and a 118d have in common other than the badge? Hell, explain what a 318i and an M3 have in common other than the badge ........... And as for pompous reply, sipar seems to have seen where Im coming from - I dont think it was pompous at all, you just read it that way.

what utter rubbish ! that is probably the most insulting and stupidest comment I have read on the forum or any forum, nearly all modern day bmw's have a similar feel to them, as do audi ( not sure about the R8) OK, so Ive driven a 1M, M135i, 123d, E36/E46/E92 M3, E36 328i, E46 330D (estate and saloon), E92 335i, E39 M5 and E38 740i in the last 12 months or so, and you know what? Every single one of them is different to the point I could probably guess which I was driving if I was blindfolded (might crash a bit though), to generalise and say you dont like any is actually utter rubbish, not what Ive just posted. Funnily enough I have a mate who has just bought a VXR Astra, mainly because he liked his W plate Astra he had before. The cars are totally different but he bought because he likes Vauxhall Astras. Is that not the same thing we are talking about but the other way round? Even if youre keeping to current range, how the hell can someone really dislike everything BMW make from a 118d right up to the M6 convertible, the only thing they have in common is the badge ....... Sipar, fair play, I think I probably did miss your point a bit but by the same token you missed mine - if you are buying purely on looks then the 370 is obviously the car for you, but as soon as you bring anything else into it, particularly how the car makes you feel then you need to have tried the alternatives - like I said, I preferred the IS-F to the 997 before Id even started the engine, it just felt a bit special, likewise I had a lot more fun driving the Missus' MR2 at Anglesey last year than I did my Zed and Id never have expected that before buying one. I just dont understand the logic behind dropping £30K on a car but ruling options out because of a perception you have about them, when that perception could* be totally wrong - a Cayman could be an infinitely better drive at 8/10s than your 370 is, and the seats might feel like clouds but you didnt know before you bought your Zed, Im the opposite of that TBH * It could equally be totally right as well but you gotta try, right?

This may not be a popular opinion, but I think anyone who says they dont like entire marques isnt really into their cars. BMW have named 94 different chassis (Exx or Fxx) since 1952, and theres been a load of different models in each, you cant say you dont like any of them - there have been 20 odd different M3's alone and the E30 M3 is a very, very different car to an E92 M3 in pretty much every respect. Likewise, from reading your post Sipar you are writing off every Porsche out there without having driven any of them, thats a ridiculous claim to make. Just because the performance is there doesnt mean you have to wring its neck to enjoy it (unlike a GTR or an E92 M3, for instance) and Im a firm believer that you cant tell what a driving experience will be like without getting in the car and trying it - I thought a 997 would be amazing but was badly disappoint, on the same day I tried a Lexus IS-F and was amazed at how good it is. Dont get me wrong, personal opinion is exactly that, personal, but I dont understand how you can reject a car because of the badge thats on the front and equally dont understand rejecting a car because its dynamically superior and you arent all about speed. I expect Sipar is probably better suited to a 370Z than a Cayman, but at the same time I dont think you can be 100% about that without trying both first.
-
So why dont you buy a comfortable, economical and practical saloon and be done with it then? You may disagree but the point of 2 seat sportscars is to give a sporty and involving drive, this is something that the Cayman and GT86 both do better than a 370, the Cayman can do continents just as easily as well. And theres no denying that the Cayman and GT86 are direct competition for the 370 - the Cayman is £2K more than the Nismo 370, the GT86 is £2K less than the "normal" 370 and they are both impractical, driving focused vehicles, you cant say they arent competition because they do stuff better. The Zed might be absolutely perfect for what you want, but for an "average" buyer you will probably find that the 86 and Cayman are better received, hence Harris's review findings.
