The 1M and M235i are IMO better than the E92 M3 - just as quick but better handling and more involving. Seriously, Im struggling not to buy a 2 at the moment. If a GTR is too bad on juice then the C63 is out the window as well, they are scary bad, and while I see what Graham is saying about the GTR, the Mazzer and M cars can do all that but feel like more of an event to drive, at least for me anyway. A 1M even at 20 mph is sensory overload, Id struggle to keep a license in a GTR as Id keep pushing that little bit more as they get better and better as you go faster and faster Ekona - its a matter of taste, Id take everything mentioned over a 997. You either get it or you dont I guess, I like them but I dont love em

Id go buy a lottery ticket quick, your jammyness might not have run out yet Not jealous or owt, honest ........

Im bang on the same page at the moment, Ive recently tried: Cayman - awesome but expensive for the newest, awesomest one M435i - lovely car but a bit soft for my taste, could be good for your man though as an all rounder M235i - really, really good, a joy to drive. M135i is similar but doesnt feel quite as sorted, 1M is far more involving and wont lose any money which is very tempting ........ Nismo 370 - beautiful to look at but not as good to drive as the above IMO, cost less to start with though GTR's are amazing but feel a bit sanitised for me unless your going quick, 911's are a matter of taste (not to mine anyway ), Maseratis are too fragile for dailies, if you arent too scared of the fuel the Lexus IS-F, M5 and XFR are all brilliant in their own right and a C63 is worth the money for the sound alone Theres loads out there for that kind of money, how old is he looking to buy?

Gatebil is pretty mad, as is SEMA TBF but Goodwood is the best in the UK. Sadly as per others I just find it too crowded these days, I wouldnt go unless I had hospitality tickets and even then Id probably only do Thursday and Friday, maybe Sat morning. Have fun though, first time I went was the week after Id watched Aston win GT1 at Le Mans and I got to meet a couple of the drivers and have a good chat, also had a really nice chat about the GT4 350Z with the guy who runs RJN, you arent going to get that at JAE

Loving all the experts on here - whena single power run with a roller monkey is generally £50-60, does someone want to explain to me how a mapper can do 6-8 hours on the rollers for £400 including the uprev license? Jez has an exceptional reputation and a lot of experience with uprev (as do Abbey), this is the first time Ive heard anything but praise for either of them and Im kinda with Kyle here, its a bit more decent to speak to the guy you paid about your issues before you start ranting on the internet. Im guessing here but Id very surprised if what is effectively generic management for Nissan engines is anywhere near as difficult to set up as Omex or Haltech, particularly if youve done it 100's of times before - the last time my drift car was mapped we were there for 8 hours, but it was quite a long way from standard and was on VEMS.

I have, its not too bad and is pretty good for getting hammered afterwards without having to worry about getting back to a taxi, theres a cracking atmosphere around the hotel in the evenings

Shame to hear this, my brother has an ST2 and while they are proper good cars they arent anywhere near as much fun as the Zed is I reckon youll be back .........

I dont tend to buy much at a time so the sliding is a big problem, Ive taken to putting stuff in with the spare wheel However we did manage to get tents, airbeds and everything else 3 guys needed for Le Mans into the back last week without too much trouble at all, its deceptive if you pack it right

Farnborough Air Show 19th / 20th July.

Its a much better event on the trade days Have fun -
If youre AAA, its a different ballgame mate Get down early and go have breakfast at the airport cafe, you can park there too and with any luck your pass should mean you can get one of the cars they lay on to take you to the VIP entrance. Have a look round the OE stuff, then go to the hospitality by the first bend and stay there drinking Pimms all day is my advice. Best place to watch the action and you meet some proper incredible people in there too Id advise a tour round the concours d'elegance and the "pits", Ive not ever been much further than that though I had the option to take tea with Lord March when I was last there but blew it out as I was loving the hill too much, youre going to have a blinder
-
That was blinding, great race, great weather and we had our best one yet I think. Next year is going to sell out quick so if youre looking at going move early Quick pic for now, the smoke machine and laser additions were very sucessful:

I saw an Orange 350 on the way down and another with a big black stripe on the way back, no-one cam to say hello to us though

Despite having 15% of all players in the World Cup playing in it? Id say that a pretty fair indicator TBH.
-
Not automatically but 15% of all players at the World Cup play in the Premiership, I think if you compare our team to Greece or even Belgium, for instane then its not that bad at all. As Ekona says, quality is never really the issue, its actually playing like you want to win a game.
-
Good shout coldel, I think hensh is being a bit pessimistic as well - say what you want about our players but they all get first team starts for Premiership teams, sure, we dont have Argentina or Spains line up but it compares pretty well with most of the others. I think the problem has always been a lack of motivation, if we can crack that then we can go as far as we want .......... until we meet Germany and lose on pens, obviously

Nice one, Ill take you up on that after I come back from Le Mans Ive driven a 2014 and was blown away by it, particularly the PASM , and Ive got a mate selling one for similar money to yours as well, it seems to be the obvious next step but I dont know a huge amount by any means. Will be in touch, GLWS in the meantime

Im feeling Spain a bit but other than that not got the foggiest, should be a good tournament as its pretty open
-
Woah, I think our convoy has just been pi**ed on somewhat
-
Very nice, Im in the market for a Cayman too. Has it got PASM ?

You lose your license for that. For life, potentially  Also, I thought £10K was a bit high but was surprised to find out the max fine is already £5K (thats what they said on the news this morning), its not so much then. As for zero tolerance to drink driving, I like a drink, same as a lot of people - I dont ever drive when Ive had more than a couple of pints and leave it when Ive had a heavy one the night before as well. Zero tolerance means that you would effectively not be able to drink anything for 24 hours before you get in a car, so realistically if you want to drink you cant ever drive. As with many of these things thats all well and good if you live in a city and have decent buses, trains etc. but if like me youre 15 miles from a station and get two buses a day what are you supposed to do? Give up drinking entirely? Drink drive incidents are not caused by people who had 3 pints at 6pm the night before, why legislate against them?

Can you get into the Houx Annex without a pass/ticket to vist all on my way down to the Vendee? Nope. It's kept secure. Errr, you wont be able to get a car in there but theres nothing stopping you parking up and walking in ...........

Needs more stickers. Fortunately there will be some waiting at Dover, happy days
-
Its an 8 speed auto but if there isnt some kind of trickery involved Id be surprised, its incredibly fast on the change, up there with the GTR and PDK. Strongly advise you go have a rip in one, the M2 is supposed to be out soon which will be epic if this thing is anything to go by.

Price differences: The 4 was a little bit more expensive TBF, the 2 starts from £32K and the Cayman was a year old so actually they were all about the same as a Nismo 370. The 2 was a loaded demonstrator and had better equipment (adaptive suspension, DSG, excellent stereo) and was £38K with 1000 miles and I thought all three had a better interior generally. Basically, they are all bang in my price range. Thoughts? The 4 series is a lot like the 335, quick but not fast, handles nicely but not particularly sharp and generally a bit soft for me. Its very pretty though and makes a decent GT car. The 2 series is a serious weapon, very reminiscent of the 1M in the way it steers and holds the road but more refined. Its quick too, and the gearbox is an absolute delight, I usually prefer stick but was disappointed with the manual in the 4 after the 2. They look pretty good too, Im very, very tempted, the drive is really involving and rewarding, seriously good car. The 370 isnt a bad car by any means, Id be happy with one but the Cayman and the 2 just feel more sorted and alive than the 370 - both have active suspension systems, both have incredible gearboxes and feel like the next generation to me, the same as a 350 feels compared to a 200SX for instance. They just feel better developed, I found the 370 a bit bouncy on poor surfaces and was disappointed by its ultimate grip - I had the traction control going most of the time I was driving it but didnt get a flash from the 2 on a similar drive. Well, not that I noticed anyway The 370 is the best looking, but its the oldest and it feels it, I also dont think its the step forward from the 350 it should have been. The Cayman is generally acknowledged as one of the best handling cars ever and just keeps getting better, the 4 series is beautiful and is a classy drive, and the 2 Series is a definite improvement on the 1 Series, which I already rated as one of the best drivers cars out there

And much as I hate to say it, having driven a 996, a Cayman, a M235i , an M435i and a Nismo 370 this week, IMO its dynamically not good enough Still too heavy, and still not quite engineered as well as the German cars.
