Some do, but will only stand behind it if they have built/extensively checked the engine prior to mapping - if the injector you bought off "dodgy Mick" for half what it should have been lets go then you cant really blame the guy with the rollers. Ive seen a lot of these kind of disputes turn nasty ........... but it shouldnt ever happen with something as generic as upRev on a 350.

No, Im with other Steve on this - its for vehicles used on the road and is calculated by emissions. Its not just vehicles or BTCC cars would have to pay it, its not just emissions or power stations would have to pay it. As for horses vs dogs, its entirely down to the health aspect, no-one has a problem with horses shitting in fields? Are people just being pedantic for the sake of it - stop and think before you type. EDIT: Oh - and the M6 toll? Ownership doesnt come into it, its privately owned but accessible to the public so the laws of the roads apply. Something like the hill at Goodwood? Not accessible so the laws dont apply. Get nicked doing donuts in Tescos at 3am, tell them its a private road and then see what happens See previous comment about thinking before keying

a bicycle is a vehicle So are all of the zero emissions vehicles that are also exempt from road tax

I tell you what else is a menace - puddles. Sitting there contributing to nothing but being all wet, getting my car dirty and stuff, why cant the council just suck them up with a massive hoover or some @*!# like that? Horses were here a long time before cars remember

But you seem to misunderstand the licensing of said software .......... that surprises me. Theres also a danger of getting it wrong and lunching your engine, theres the time you have to spend learning, the time you have to spend actually mapping and testing ......... and £200 thrown at someone who knows what they are doing is "expensive"?
-
Except if you add more mods and take the car back for the remap, you dont have to pay the license fee again. You could even buy a cable and start mapping the car yourself if you want ........... so its not only like MS Office, you effectively get the source code as well. And £400 isnt even two rear tyres for my car, if you think thats a lot of money for better power, torque, throttle response and economy youre driving the wrong car.

GT86 not fast enough for me, I want ~400hp really.
-
Not if its a manual, bear in mind you wont lose anything on a Supra either .........
-
It will probably settle a bit lower as it had been up on trolley jacks, but no lower, needs to be semi practical Man up Looks excellent I think, very individual and nicely done but for the love of god lose that numberplate font.

I am almost definitely moving on and Im looking at M135/M235/1M, Cayman, IS-F mainly. All more money but all that bit newer and stuff A 370 is not a bad replacement mind you

Annoyingly aforementioned Germany and some places in France have introduced speed restrictions on Motorways round cities to reduce pollution, it seems the slower you go the less you pollute
-
Ive just come back from 1500km on Autobahns and a fair chunk of Austria as well, I was driving an M135i so you can guess how slowly I was driving and once again was amazed at how well everything worked. If we need a 60 mph limit in the UK then we need better driving lessons.
-
We may have to agree to disagree on that one
-
I believe the license is over £200, if you consider 1/2 hour on a dyno is generally getting on for £100 and then add your £60 + VAT for a skilled operator ........... M$ Office is £200 but no-one seems to think thats a lot of money ............

Zed handles better, Supe goes faster.

START AGAIN ! NO REMAP....PINKING STILL......IDEAS PLEASE GUYS
docwra replied to JEMAN's topic in 350Z General
Why do you think its pinking? The sound is quite unique, like a skeleton wanking into a biscuit tin is about the best description Ive heard , but Ive never known a car to do it apart from at high revs, you sure its not something else? It can only really happen because of wrong plugs ....... and youve got the right ones (my bad in earlier post) or a very lean fuel mixture which should be impossible on a standard car, even if the AFM is busted. V. strange ......... EDIT: BTW, Ive suggested unplugging the AFM as the car will go onto a "base map" if you do, this means it runs very rich so if it is det then it should stop it. You wont be able to rev over 4K but at least it gives you a better idea -

Im feeling Ive missed something here ......... but why do you think its detting? Det at low revs is almost unheard of and Id be amazed if it was, it would also mean the engine would likely tear itself apart at high revs. Try unplugging your air flow meter and see if you still have the same problem ........ and who are these people you speak of, take the car to Abbey or Horsham and get it done properly. BTW, youve got the wrong plugs and only very sensitively tuned turbo cars tend to notice the difference between BP and Shell fuel -
Mate, Ive driven 400hp in 500KG in the pissing rain at Spa, I didnt have any trouble. Ive also driven 700hp in 1100KGs on the road and it was still possible to put your foot down, the amounts of weight we are talking about have negligible effects on grip ........ apart from lateral grip of course. Phil Morrison claims the new Driftwork AE86 wont spin up in anything other than 1 st gear, thats 650hp and under 1000KG. Yeah, because they came straight out an admitted they cocked the 350 up and had to add 100's KG to stop it folding in on itself. Theres no two ways about it, the GTR is amazing but it would be more amazing in every single respect if it was 500KG lighter. ike the race car is, does that tell you anything? I remember LOLing at the ridiculous statement that the weight makes it faster at the time and I will continue to LOL at it until we achieve zero gravity here on earth
-
Wow, cant believe that people actually accept Nissans bullshit about the weight rather than the laws of Physics. It would be faster and handle better if it was lighter, the same as every other vehicle thats ever been produced. I personally reckon the new Cayman S is a faster car than a GTR simply because of the weight difference. A 1700KG "track special" is pushing it a bit IMO.

Fuel is all I have to say, its scary even compared to its competition. I also think the competition are better cars but that noise ........

£2700 for a SS exhaust when you can get pretty much the same for £500 an Ti for a damn sight less than £2700, Im not entirely sure anyone should
-
Is it still here? Im now in Austria for the week but hope to be able to give you a shout at weekend ....... starting to wonder what my house looks like but M135i hire car should make up for it though

He has always been like that, horrible cynical player particularly when he has all that skill

Club pays your mortgage, club dictates your value as a player, club is where you go to train 5 times a week. Country only gives you a game if club are playing you in the first place ........... it ant right but you can understand it

Be quiet then. Problem solved.
