  1. No its here Cat and Fiddle road near Macclesfield. Correct. It's the infamous 'Cat and Fiddle' road, named after a pub at the highest point. The scene of this video is 2-3 miles from me. Many a weekend i've driven over to buxton and seen some kind of Biker accident on there. They fitted average speed cameras along the length of the road a few years ago, and they genuinely do seem to have helped.
  2. Too cheap IMHO there matey.
  3. Which one did you get mate? They appear to be £40 on the amazon link above. Just trying to figure out which t-shirt to get. At least it'll save me being Bennett's beer assistant. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Monkey-Garage-Blood-Sweat-Hoodie/dp/B00IE9TATQ/ref=sr_1_30?s=clothing&ie=UTF8&qid=1395692817&sr=1-30&keywords=gas+monkey+garage
  4. I recently bought a 996 C4. As Dan says, it's an experience i felt i had to tick off my list, and im glad i have done, but honestly i'd rather have my old 350z back. Whilst the Porsche is certainly rapid and interesting to drive, i dont feel like it's really that much more special. Also the 'Porsche Anxiety' is pretty annoying... every little noise has me worrying that it's going to cost me some serious money. I've never really been concerned with a cars running costs before, but these are expensive to keep maintained well... and it's money that i dont see as being very good value (i.e. on other cars, preventative maintenance is almost rewarding but on the Porsche i feel like im getting ripped off).
  5. Bennett, you gotta get me a t-shirt! I'll even be your beer assistant in Wales if you do http://www.amazon.co...sl_1pap3vm6i5_b I've been after the hoody for as long as the shows been on TV... they;re about £40 on ebay, but only £28 incl delivery on amazon, so i ordered one today! Cheers GSEXR.
  6. So i've just been out and bought a new car for the daily grind. I was supposed to be getting one when i ended up buying the Porsche instead... i dont know what i was thinking I've done 3.5k miles in that already in the 6 weeks i've had it So anyway, the Range Rover Sport sold a couple of weeks ago, so the last few weeks i've been out looking for a sensible replacement. I've always been after a Merc C-Class but the prices seem to have increased by £1-2k over the last year so it's out me off them a bit as i know i wouldnt be getting good value. So, i've been looking at other options. I test drove an IS220d which was a lovely drive, but the example i found (for my budget) was a bag of nails, and this week i started looking at 3-Series BMW's. I've had 5 or 6 beemers in the past (E36 and E46 shape) and i vowed never to get another as they were very unreliable. However here we are and i've just picked up a newer shape model (i dont even know the name of this MY...?) Anyway, it's a 320d ES with 108k on the clock. Pretty basic spec but it does have a (sickly) cream leather interior, cruise control, and a push start button Bodywork is alright... 2 or 3 small scuffs and a couple of door dings, but i can sort those out if i can be bothered. Price.... it was up at £5.5k with the plate, but i managed to knock them down to £4.8k without the plate, but with a 3 month warranty! There are no known problems at the moment, and it drives an absolute treat! Pics below.
  7. Richard Rawlings is a legend. The tattoo on his arm is a reference to his record...
  8. Possibly my favourite show on TV. Been watching it for a few years. Gas Monkey GET PAID!
  9. Use this stuff... i've used it to get the glue off my windows after removing the window tints from the porsche. And a credit card as a scraper. http://www.diy.com/nav/rooms/cleaning-laundry/household-cleaning/cleaning_products/-specificproducttype-specialist_cleaners/Desolvit-Sticky-Stuff-Remover-250ml-10287730?noCookies=false Bug and Tar remover was no help at all compared to this stuff.
  10. Yep i can see it. Look at these 2 pics of mine... look how shallow the rear centre is on my first pic, and then look at the 2 fronts on the right in the second - clearly deeper.
  11. I think you, Dan and I can start our own little Porsche corner now...
  12. I've been using this stuff recently... £3-odd from B&Q and it works a treat. http://reviews.diy.com/2191-en_gb/10287730/reviews.htm
  13. Wonder if there will be a grace period when buying the car and getting it home to tax it?
  14. You can get a really nice looking 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2.7 Diesel for £2.5k.
  15. 1. Speaker - match this up to the corresponding colour in your car. 2. Speaker - match this up to the corresponding colour in your car. 3. 4. I *think* this is the remote switch to turn on an external amp from the HU if you have one. Possibly needs to be plugged into the yellow daisy chained lead but not sure (6) 5. Switched LIVE. Plug into 11. 6. See 4 7. 8. Into the back of your HU 9. 10. 11. See 5.
  16. I've had 2 350z's for a total of just under 6 years... i fancied a change.
  17. I think it's called Cinnamon Brown. It certainly divides opinion but i love it.
  18. So after a week of ownership, i was feeling pretty fed up with the Porsche! It was an absolute chore to drive and i soon realised why... its because of the tinted windows! It had limo tints all round and in day light you struggled to see, but at night you couldnt see anything at all. It was awful! I even resorted to driving with my windows down just so i could see in my wing mirrors! So today i went out and peeled the tints off all round! it took less than 10 minutes and was SERIOUSLY satisfying to do! I've just been out for a spin tonight and it's sooo much nicer to drive. Here's a few pics...
  19. We'll have to agree to disagree then. I've done around 200 miles in it this week and it does feel much quicker than my zed. It's the 60-100 time where it feels it. I dont think i've even been over 5k revs in 4th yet as i'm always going to quick . I googled 60-100 times and going off this list (with a pinch of salt http://www.pistonhea...c.asp?t=1241943) the 911 takes 7.0 seconds as opposed to 8.4 in a zed (or 5.5 in a 911 Turbo) so the C4 is about in the middle in that respect. Nice...! Unfortunately i dont think i'll be allowed to Wales in my squashed beetle.
