  3. Hi guys, I'm after some input/advice from anyone who may have been in a similar position to me in their careers (or from anyone else who wants to chime in!) I'm 30 years old and have worked for the same software company for 8 years since graduating from University. For the first 4 years i was a programmer, with the last 4 years as a Business Consultant / Project Manager. I'm very proud of the job I do currently - it's always exciting and is pretty high profile, as I work with lots of different sports clubs/institutions across the UK. This year I was in charge of a very large software project at Silverstone for example, and i've just finished another medium sized project with Nottingham Forest FC. Sadly, i feel like i have out grown my role over the last 6 months and things are starting to feel repetitive. We had a company update this week and I left it feeling very demoralized. There doesnt appear to be anything different on the horizon, and i cant stomach another year of the same challenges day in, day out. So, I've begun looking for a new job elsewhere, but i would like to take a step up to a 'proper' management role. Something like an Operations Manager or Practice Manager. Does anyone have any tips on how to do this, whilst not having any real management experience (as in, no permanent direct reports previously). Secondly, how far should/could you reach with regards to salary? I'm currently earning around £47.5k, however I dont feel like i want to risk my career for anything less than £55k, but actually I would like to try my hand at jobs offering even more than this (£60k+). Does anyone here have experience of applying for and getting jobs in this space? If so, what are those jobs like in terms of responsibility/stress, and do you regret making the leap? I'm nervous about going to an interview and being out of my depth, having only worked for one company before. Lastly... if anyone here knows of any jobs available which sound similar to the above, give me a shout! (North West or Home based).
  4. Drop links. Cheap, and easy replacement.

Number plate tape should be fine i would think.
  6. Im with Admiral and I have this by default.
  7. It was on ITV4. I was watching it on +1 and it finished at 11.30am.
  8. Its tortuously slow isnt it? I wonder how much of a part aerodynamics will play at these speeds. Seems like its go great backing though, i didnt realise such big names were on board.
  9. ...you might regret saying that...! Hows the Jag doing? Are you settling down to have a winter working on it?
  10. I sure have mate, i shouldnt have sold mine That said, i'm actually really looking forward to having a track car instead of a garage queen for a change.
  11. Any idea if he pulled through in the end? I didnt know him personally but bought a few bits off him over the years and he was a pleasure to deal with.

  13. This sounds like Big Phil and IanS16's old car.
  14. I've just spat my tea over my keyboard at that!
  15. Edit - there's obviously a high demand for 911's at the moment. It's only been for sale for a week, and i've had about 10 phone calls from people all over the country wanting it. First person to come has bought it though. Every other car i've sold has been up for sale for at least 6 weeks before it went (apart from my Azure Zed which wasnt even for sale. Why did I let that go... )
  16. So I have joined Ekona in the Porsche exodus as I have now sold my 911! I bought it in February this year and from day one i never really 'got on' with it. I had some good times with it but to be honest i'm glad to see the back of her. It developed a couple of oil leaks whilst i had it, and the exhaust was blowing (which I repaired with a new clamp and some high temp sealant), but just listening for every knock/clunk and wondering what it was going to cost me was taking the fun away from ownership. All said and done i've not lost any money on it as I sold it for what I paid for it, so i'm happy to say i've ticked the box, but i wont be getting another one. I'm not looking to replace the 911 as i've got an e90 BMW as my main car which is more than adequate. However i am looking to get a RWD track car in the new year, probably an MX5 or an E36 and get back into drifting at Oulton Park and do more track work than I have done in recent years. A few pics from the for sale ad.
  17. I've just been doing more digging on this. It looks like all prices to the Atlanta hub were wrong, so you could get anywhere in the states for less than £250. However reading on some forums (HotUKDeals etc) the prices were fixed in the last hour, and people have been getting emails to say their bookings have been cancelled. If you dont hear anything Squee, i'd try to leave booking your hotel for as long as possible in case it gets cancelled.
  18. To be fair though i'd be careful. Net flights appear to just be a broker, so whilst they may have miss priced, when they come to book your flights with Virgin Atlantic youll get an email saying they cant do it. I've just been on the VA site and the prices are no where near these.
  19. Damnit i've already been this year.... do i need to go again? Hmmm.
  20. Hi guys, Whilst in my garage i've just found a couple of left over parts from when i had my zed. First up is a genuine Nissan option 'Sports Horn' sold in Japan. It's a higher pitch tone than the UK horn. The fit is a straight swap for the standard UK horns. I've included some wiring harness to but you wont need this as you will be able to use your standard harness. £15 delivered. [Edit - Horns are now SOLD] This part is also sold here: http://www.courtesyp...0z-p-19457.html Second is a set of JDM triple gauge pods, removed from my JDM zed when i fitted UK ones instead. When removed 3 years ago they were in perfect working order. Note these display the fuel usage in KPL as opposed to MPG, just like all JDM guage pods. £15 delivered.
  21. Managed to locate the driver & he paid body shop directly. How did you do that?
  22. See i dont have enough confidence in humanity to park like this, despite wanting to. Sadly its just asking for a keying.
  23. This was me at Donnington a few years ago.
