Haha, well remembered! Some of it has gone on holidays and on the M3, but I've still got about half left. I've never really had this much money 'going spare' before - in the past it has always been for house deposits, etc... but now I've got a decent house, two fast cars, etc... I don't know what to do with it?! Having good money in the bank is very reassuring, but I can't stop myself looking at E90 M3s, M5s, Caymans, 911s, Range Rovers, XKRs, etc... Keeping the cash seems the sensible thing to do, but I'm not sure it's the right thing to do, hence the question about what everybody else does... Spend or save?! If you're pretty sorted and have achieved what you need to achieve materially, then you should maybe consider how to get out of the rat race. Invest in property or the markets, anything you can do to accelerate how quickly you can pay your mortgage off. Even overpaying your pension is a great investment as it's tax free money. If you can semi-retire by the time you're 50, you're laughing.

Money has always burnt a hole in my pocket. That is until this year, when i decided to save for a house deposit. I've now definitely caught the saving bug and i'm a complete scrooge. I intend to keep a £5k float once the house move has completed and the first year of ownership is out of the way (lots of costs, and furniture to buy, etc).

Slightly off topic - but literally every time im watching F1, im also looking on Ebay for some F1 car parts. Usually they go for astronomical prices but recently there has been quite lot available quite cheaply. I've just had the following bits delivered, total cost including postage - £30.00! 2010 Virgin F1 Engine/Exhaust Cover (race used) 2011 Virgin Push Rod Suspension Shroud 2008 Force India Engine Cover Panel Kinda sad, i know. I'm just going to stick them on my garage wall. One day i WILL own a front wing (currently cost about £1500).

Yeah, where i live now this house would be in the £350-400k ballpark. Therefore i'm moving 20 minutes south to a bit of a naff town, but you get sooo much more for your money. We dont go out and arent having kids etc, so it doesnt really matter to us where we live.

Arrived at 9.30am this morning. All setup within 30 mins. It's got voice control and a Wii style pointer remote which is cool. Have to say im impressed with the curved screen - it gives real depth to the picture.

Man maths indeed! Nope i've never had the pleasure of a curved screen before, other than in store today. I've never really seen the point of them before, but there was one i saw today which was amazing. Granted it was an OLED 4k, but they were demoing 'Interstellar' and the space scene i was watching just seemed that much more immersive on a curved screen.

Im kind of kicking myself to be honest. There was a 4k 55" LG on sale at christmas for £699, and i almost bought it but decided against it. That same TV is now up for £899. If it was still £699 i would have bought it today, but as i always have to know i'm getting a good deal, i went for the 'twice the price' Samsung.

... So i've just had to buy a new TV today. Not something i was planning on purchasing as i'm in the middle of a house move at the moment (waiting for mortgage approval via Sarnie!) so a lot of my money is spoken for. My 2 year old Samsung 55" 6-series has been getting progressively worse over the last 6 months, with the bottom 2 inches of the screen not working, and then recently a horizontal line about a 3rd of the way up appeared too. I've dismantled it previously but not managed to fix it, and i decided to have another go today - but i made it worse. I dont know what i've done, but now the picture only displays in black & white, and is pretty blurry To be honest i think i've just sabotaged myself, as i was hoping i would break it so i could buy a new one! I got an email yesterday with Curry's 'Easter Deals', and they are selling the Samsung 65" 8 Series 1080p Curved LED TV for only £1499.00! Reduced from the 'normal' price of £2800. Pretty good deal I thought, and it includes a 5 year warranty too. Good news is, it's getting delivered before 11am tomorrow.
