  1. So my wife and i recently purchased our first house. We've been renting for 8 years but we are now very happy home owners. Sarnie played a huge part in this by securing us a great mortgage which beat anything else i could find - thanks mate if you're reading. Anyway - the house... it's amazing. It's pretty huge (to us), with 5 bedrooms and a double garage. We dont have kids so all rooms are for us to use as we please! So far i've got an office and i'm building a retro-games lounge / man cave. I'll add pics of that to this thread once it's in a bit better shape! Anyway onto today's build - on the top floor of the house there is a small doorway into the eaves, where we have approx a 13m long passageway that's been boarded and has power. Rather than fill it with crap i decided to make good use of it, for one of my hobbies. I started out with these bits ...and this space ...and fitted them like this ... to make one of these - a Target Retrieval System! I collect CO2 pistols/rifles and usually do a bit of target practice in my garage, but i thought this made more sense. ... okay it's not motorised yet but it will be soon. For now it's a manual job to wind the target back and forth, but it's a start! I've bought a big piece of foam to catch the bb's which you can see at the end of the range. Works really well. Here's what i was shooting with.
  2. On the import auto model there is a Sport/Snow mode button next to the heated seat switches, so it could just be standard wiring on all cars for that purpose.
  3. Just keep phoning up looking for cancellations. They're bound to happen. When i booked my test, there was a 3-month lead time until test day. Then when test day came around we had a huge snowstorm, so it was cancelled and i had a further 3 months delay! From booking on 31st October 2003, my test wasnt until 8th April 2004. Passed first time though.
  4. Seeing that bonnet gives me shivers! It looks amazing!!
  5. £3k, thats a bargain?! How much will the labour be on top of that?
  6. Agree. Definitely needs a rub down after the primer, else you'll get a textured finish. (Speaking from experience!)
  7. I got an invite for the Fifa 16 closed beta, so i've been playing that tonight. Feels great so far, certainly an improvement over 15, although there seems to be an over reliance on skill moves to make space for a player. Have also borrowed Battlefield Hardline off a mate. Thats just installing now.
  8. I hate BT. I think it's bang out of order that they've now got all CL football and are holding Sky customers to ransom in order watch it. W@nkers. I'd happily pay over the odds to rip them off rather than paying them.
  9. Hi guys, I've just renewed last years 350z-uk.com Fantasy Football league on http://fantasy.premierleague.com/ if anyone wants to join? Here is the league code: 1402915-330199 It's free to enter.
  10. Has anyone got F1 2015 yet? I cant wait to get it...
  11. I was an RPG developer on the IBM iSeries, but progressed into consultancy about 5 years ago. I have dabbled in lots of other languages though. I still use a lot of SQL to do my job though, and still end up debugging our applications about once a week (it's quicker than getting one of the programmers to do it).
  12. What have i missed? i've been away on business for most of the last month so not played it. I knew it was buggy but not enough to make me quit. I've not played online yet though... only single player.
  13. I was working as a plumbers mate whilst on summer break from University. Ended up watching it all unfold in the customers house whilst swapping out some radiators.
  14. Hands down the best track day pictures i've ever seen.
  15. I would rather a 3d printer Sad Keanu http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2013/05/me-and-sad-keanu-a-3d-printing-story/276256/
  16. 66' Mustang. £15-25k 2000+ Mercedes G-Wagen. £25k A single-seater of some sort for track days. £10-20k A Z4m Coupe as a daily. £15k And lastly i'd kit out my garage: £10k
  17. So i went to this place last night: http://www.arcade-club.com/ £10 entry for 4 hours of freeplay on over 100 arcade machines from the 70's, 80's and 90's! Apart from the really bad smell of body odour from the super-geeky clientele, it was a brilliant way to spend a saturday night. In fact it's got me thinking that i want to open up my own arcade like this one day, to get me out of the rat race!
  18. Is backward compatability working already? I thought it wasnt out until autumn time?
  19. Shite.
  20. Saw these vids on FB this morning. I think it's looking epic, and im really excited to see it. I think the racing looks a little too arcadey (too much drifting round corners), but hopefully this can be dialed down a bit.
  21. Hands up whose jealous... Need for Speed Underground 2 on the PC, using my Thrustmaster TX
  22. I assume you've had a look at Hartech's prices? http://www.hartech.org/porsche_996_997_Boxster_engine_failure_repair_rebuilds_prices.html Looking at £6k +VAT for 6x new cylinders. Generally it's poor or inefficient cooling. They say that the cyclinders heat and warp, assuming an oval shape. I've also read that Porsche used sub-standard materials for the liners in this first mass-produced engine which has an impact also.
  23. I've been doing a bit on Project Cars still, and trying to get back into Fifa. I've literally lost about 18 of the last 20 games i've played though... it's really annoying me!! I'm waiting for F1 2015 to come out on XBONE. It was due out this week, but has been delayed until July now.
