  1. I'm so glad i live 'up north'. We bought our first house last year. It was a 'modest' £265k, but it's a large 5-bed with double garage in a nice but cheap area. We had some friends from London come and visit and they were really p***ed off, saying it would have cost about £1M where they live! ...just move up here and buy a nice house outright!
  2. I'd go anthracite personally. Lighter than black so you get a bit more definition, and still goes great with UY.
  3. No way, i was literally about to click on Auto trader to see how much these are going for before clicking this link! Really like these.

    BMW E89

My old man in the USA has got one. It's a really handsome car. He loves it but he's not really a car lover, so can't really comment on how good they are. Still looking to get rid of the zed?
  5. Either my Azure Nismo Zed or my Range Rover Sport. Opposite ends of the scale as far as cars go, but both were my pride and joy. Owned them both at the same time actually, so that was a good period in my life! I miss my zed from a social and modding perspective, but I miss the RRS more overall.
  6. Bargain. Can't be many of these left in the world unused.
  7. Gutted. Should have given me a shout.
  8. Set your own meet up for a time that suits you and post it on here - see if you can get some interest.
  9. That's awesome Leon, a great result by the sound of it!! I cant wait to see it with paint on. Those gaps look fantastic in the pics by the way.
  10. See published MPG figure. Know reality will be 20-25% less than this. Get on with life.
  11. Hi Lexx, Will the T-Shirts need to be printed with a limited number of colours, or are you planning to have a photo-quality image printed on the shirts? If using screen printing you're usually limited to a basic 4 colour design for clothes.
  12. I thought my move last year was protracted... to get to within a week of the moving date only for it to be delayed by 3 months. We were fully packed, with just 2 knives, 2 forks and 2 plates left out etc, then couldnt be bothered unpacking so lived like that until we moved. ...But some of these stories are horrific!
  13. Not really a bodge but a quick fix on the fly... when i was 20 in my E36 beemer i had a sub and amp fitted. Occasionally when i started it up it the amp wouldnt kick in, so i'd just switch the car off and on again and it would power on. Well i must have done this 10 times without incident. However on this one occasion i was doing about 20mph when i chose to switch the engine off and on again to get it to kick in, but i needed to steer slightly. As i steered whilst the engine was off, the steering lock kicked in and i couldnt turn the key to restart it, and i drifted onto the wrong side of the road into on coming traffic!! Luckily nothing was coming and i came to a stop on the wrong side, managed to restart it, and pull away before anyone saw me.
  14. So im usually pretty tight with my money, but i've just spent £62 on beer! I'm not much of a drinker but my favourite beer was Kronenbourg Blanc. They stopped selling it in the UK in about 2009 and i've been looking for it ever since. Checking every few months to see if i can find it online anywhere etc. Well i found a retailer in the Netherlands this week and have just ordered 36 bottles today (maximum that can be shipped in a single package). They'll probably last me all summer to be honest, but i cant wait! Hopefully it's the same stuff... the packaging has changed slightly.
  15. Ah the beach service too... chilling out on your lounger and they bring you cocktails so you dont even have to move. its amazing! We didnt bother with Coco Bongo's... like you say its expensive and is a bit of a tourist trap to be honest. We did 1 trip to Xel-Ha - an adventure place to do Scuba Diving, ATV's, Jet Ski's and Para-Sailing which cost about £250 for the day. Was well worth it. The only other thing we did is go to the local town - Playa Del Carmen which has got some great shops/restaurants. We probably spent less than £500 in the two weeks we were there.
  16. Ah sorry, the video was set to private and i hadnt realised. I've made it public now so you should be able to see it soon. Dress code, i just wore chinos and a polo shirt on most nights, and some smart-ish shoes (Sketchers). Its basically to stop people coming in off the beach and eating in the restaurant without going back to your room and showering first i guess. As for how strict they are, i cant say i remember anyone wearing shorts in the evenings so didnt really encounter anything. Sounds like you've made the right choice on the room. Regarding the tips, yes we left about $2 per day in the room i think.... One day we got left a full 1L bottle of Jose Cuervo Tequila in the room! Oh and the room service... any time night or day you can order something up and they'll bring it to your room, for free. Awesome!
  17. i was actually going to say, bugs are at a minimum at the resort as they spray pesticide at about 4am every morning on everything, so there were hardly any bugs!
  18. Oh, and the jag in the ad was owned by this nonce from Made in Chelsea. He didnt strike me as being in to cars.
  19. I wouldnt take a £3k XK8 if you gave it to me for nothing. Going to be a complete money pit, i'm sure. I remember reading your build thread Rich and thinking Christ thats a lot of work!!
  20. Heres the video of our honeymoon. Annoyingly when i uploaded it to youtube the quality was lost, but gives a good indication of what to expect. Oh, and i had a Selfie Stick before they were fashionable.
  21. Yeah, i've been! We had our Honeymoon there in 2013. I'm not sure of the Sensimar bit of it, as it was called El Dorado Seaside Suites by Karisma when we went. Literally the best 2 weeks of both of our lives. I 100% recommend you pay extra for one of the mid-range beach front rooms. I think it was about £300 extra for the 2 weeks, but totally worth it. They're not particularly 'on the beach', but they're much bigger and more luxurious. The standard rooms are just average hotel rooms, and the most expensive 'swim up' rooms didnt seem to be worth it - they were just a ground floor standard room with an ordinary looking pool on the back. The food was out of this world... 6x restaurants all of which were epic. Our favourite thing was the wildlife - loads of massive iguanas everywhere, a few wierd but quite large mammals we've never seen before, great fish etc. Every day they do a huge BBQ on the beach which is awesome too, or you can go and grab a burger or pizza whenever you want. We went back to Mexico the following year to an 'average' place at about 1/3rd the price. It was no where near as good.
  22. I've not seen any Varis lips knocking around for years! They were the dogs danglies at one point, in the late naughties!

    Audi R8

Ha ha. Its at least 18 months till i've got the cash for one, so i can afford to analyse at this stage! Im the type of person that absolutely MUST get a good deal. I try not to pay RRP for anything and research incessantly until i can get a deal...
