  1. Yeah, i've been keeping on top of things on a daily basis. I'm not buying any of the launch titles. It comes with a demo disk which will do for day one, and i've got all the VR games on my rental list from Boomerang, so i'll try before i buy anything.
  2. I've pre-ordered a Playstation VR for release day next week. I'm a bit concerned by the slightly lower specs than the PC rivals, but it's so much more accessible in terms of price - especially as i don't have a gaming PC already!
  3. I traded in my 3DS and a couple of games today for a PS Vita. Mainly because i want to try out Remote Play. I have to say, i'm pretty impressed with it. Remote play works really well... only down side so far is that the Vita doesn't have L2/R2 buttons so it doesn't work great with some games (where you can't reassign controls, or all buttons are used etc). Just had a few games of Fifa on it though, and played some Drive Club and it works fine!
  4. Looks like a ropey photoshop to me.
  5. I supply into F1 (and WEC, and DTM) so have a little more insight than most, Im also lucky enough to regularly talk to people that do this for a living ............ but the biggest problems are obvious to me without expert input. The Mercs are all beating and unstoppable? Not if they arent in clean air .......... and this is the biggest change that has to be made, less reliance on Fancy Dan aero. Make it a single plane front wing and the same at the back and ban CFD and FEA research and presto-hey, cars can run effectively in dirty air and youve reduced each teams annual budget by about 30%. If more downforce is needed reintroduce ground effects that arent affected by turbulence. The cars need to be difficult to drive as well, less downforce will help this but why not go to 1000hp as well? Now that teams will actually be competing against each other without aero getting in the way you can remove the synthetic "tactical" element of tyres and just give them something that will work all race - this will also reduce costs. Finally, run it like an actual business and not some evil dwarf's plaything. The media rights are massive, so why arent more of them goin to the teams - see also prize and overall sponsorship money. Why should there be a net cost for places like Monza, Silverstone and Monaco money to run races, why should fans have to part with a weeks wages to see a race? These circuits and these fans are what keeps F1 alive, not Bernies ever increasing bank account. There are some other things Id like to see (low grip just outside of track limits to dissuade drivers from trying to gain unfair advantage, free TV coverage, less penalties) but simply sorting the aero and adding some power would make it a much better spectacle.
  6. So Assetto Corsa was next to arrive on my rental list. Played it for about 30 mins so far and it seems okay. Took about 15 mins to find the right settings for my Thrustmaster TX but it's dialed in now and feels good. You can really feel the weight transfer/inertia when changing directions, and when you have to apply opposite lock. This is probably the most realistic FFB i've felt on an XBOX game to date. Graphics-wise they're a bit of a let down. I think Project Cars has the edge here. In terms of tracks and cars, the selection is really limited. I think there's something like 8 different tracks, plus the varying layouts (GP, International, etc). I've only done a couple of races so far. The AI seems good. Not sure how much replayability there's going to be in it though... it's a bit emotionless/dull sadly.
  7. On lots of cars in the USA, wing mirrors have a sticker on the glass saying 'Object in the mirror may be closer than they appear'. i think wing mirrors may be very slightly convex giving you a wider field of view, thus making things appear further away.
  8. Can't you buy the game from Amazon for like £20?? Why bother when i'm gonna rent it? £14 a month and i get unlimited rentals with 2x games at a time. I'll just rent it for a couple of weeks and finish it.
  9. Anyone played Asseto yet on Xbox? Any good? Reviews seem pretty poor...
  10. Looks pretty cool. If it was 20% larger i'd be all over it, but these are just too small for my liking.
  11. Mirrors edge an alternative viewpoint http://www.cracked.c...econd-look.html
  12. Homefront was rubbish. I played it for a couple of hours and then posted it back. It's an open world FPS with crafting elements. The first few missions were very tedious and having subsequently watched a review on youtube, it followed the same pattern for the rest of the game so i got rid. I was then posted Uncharted 4. I've not played any of the others previously. WHAT A GAME this is!! I played it for about 10 hours over the weekend which is an awful lot for me. It's incredible. The movement is so fluid and the graphics are possibly the best i've seen. I've also got the new Mirror's Edge at the momoent and the parkour elements of this pale in comparison to those in Uncharted 4! The Last of Us is on the rental list, coming soon!
  13. Mate, these look amazing! What are you using for the drawers?
  14. I always loved the look of FTO's but never had one. There's a really well looked after red one near my Gran's that i always admire whenever i visit.
  15. Ready and waiting buddy. No more holidays for a while - i've just got back from LA so i'm poor now! That said - i'm laid up at the minute with my back. I threw it out a couple of weeks ago. I've just been prescribed Diazepam and Tramadol today for it. Never had those before!
  16. I hated FM5 and 6 with the wheel. The brakes feel awful. PCars was perfect IMHO, but F1 2015 is my favourite game to play with a wheel. I've just signed up to Boomerang Rentals again as there are loads of games coming out over the next few months that i'm interested in, and a couple from the summer i was after. Got Mirror's Edge and Homefront to play tonight.
  17. "Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.†- Ellen Goodman
  18. I think it's down to the person. I have a personality trait which dictates this for me. I dont know the name of it other than w@nker, possibly. In my mind I have to 'have more' than my friends and family. Be that houses/cars/holidays. I dont know why this is, i just need it as a sad form of self-validation. This keeps me motivated to have a prestigious job that earns a decent salary. I couldn't give it all up and become mediocre. I must point out, i'm never a snob with it and would never rub it in someone's face... i'm generally embarrassed by having nice things. Like I said though, this makes me a w@nker i guess!
  19. Sorry but i agree with others. The knocking issue you started with appears to have been solved by an oil change. Everything else is a maintenance item which you should be taking on the chin.
  20. I used to SORN mine from November to March. Totally unnecessary i'm sure, but i used to have some nice 19" Volk's which would have been ruined by the salt. I had stock wheels to go on, but I was too embarrassed to drive it with those on so i never did!
