Help!! Oak Shaker style Kingsize bed required?
marzman replied to stanski's topic in Off Topic Discussion
OH MY GOD!! They sell cookie dough in Costco?? Propper american style cookie dough you can eat raw from the tube?? My Dad lives in the states, and whenever i go over there i always end up eating about 8 tubes of the stuff. -
You know the difference between a hedgehog and a bmw dont you? On a hedgehog - the pricks are on the outside. (from a 3xformer bmw owner).
-
I know i know i was just messing. I dont think i'd get another 2 seater (of todays current crop at least) as nothing compares to the zed. ...and ZeddZ - you have some skills there! Only thing is i'd want a red 'O' on the Nismo.
-
They do these???? Should i PM Big Phil or is it an across the pond mod from Adam? Sorry for the thread jack Jay... Glad you didnt like the Z4... now go and test a crossfire to humour me

I seem to have started a debate here! When i say i coast - i am dropping my auto into neutral. Coasting would be remaining in gear with a clutch depressed wouldn't it? Anyway, some of you obviously are assuming im a moron for doing this, and that im going to cause an accident because im oblivious to my surroundings and have no control of my car. Well, suit yourselves... but i only 'coast' when its appropriate to do so - i dont do it if someone's behind me, or at a point where i may need to get on the power etc. And Mr Ming... as for why should i buy a zed if i care about petrol consumption... i dont get to ride around in a plod car all day with my petrol paid for me This is my only car, and i drive approx 375miles a week to work, the price of which has gone up by about £100 a month for me over the last 3 months! I dont know what you police get paid, but i need to start cutting back somewhere
-
Think it was gun metal... but i was doing a little over the speed limit so only saw it for about 1 seconds
-
Couldn't believe it... on the opposite side of the dual carriageway to me just going into Nantwich... I'd have turned round and followed it if i could have! I need one of these! Also, yesterday - a rusty-coloured Gallardo just of J16 of the M6... wasnt you Sarnie was it?
-
Yes, defo look forward to the pics!
-
i showed this to my mate at work last year, and he said "check this number - its my mums mobile". I was trying so hard not to laugh while it was loading...
-
Thought I'd read somewhere that coasting in neutral was not such a good idea as you were still using petrol, where as if you left it in gear, granted it would have to be a high one to coast, the engine shut off the petrol or something like that?..... Even if thats true, i believe it would still be better than leaving it in gear, as the engine braking that occurs would half the distance im able to free-wheel!

Hang on.... this now makes no mention of pre-06 cars going up to £440... that cant be right? I was listening to the radio this morning and they were banging on about it still affecting old cars etc... -

I'll be doing this to pal... the sorn idea should work. Think i might ring the dvla anonymously to find out if its possible before i do it though! http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic ... highlight= -
I've been meaning to post about this for a while, but havent got around to it... perhaps i should start a new thread so everyone sees it...! I always, without fail get between 300 and 315 miles out of a tank of fuel (approx 21mpg), doing a good mixture of town/country/motorway driving. BUT, last month, after also being sick of spending £90+ a week on petrol, i decided to start driving differently! I now drive a lot more fuel-conciously... i mean, now i hate having to put the brakes on! I stay on the speed limit, but then if going down hill or something, i'll drop into neutral, until my speed starts to dip. Also, when approaching traffic light or a queue of traffic, i'll slow down much further than before (mabye 50yds?), and then roll upto the back of the queue - keeping my speed at a level which means i wont have to come to a complete stop - as the queue should have started moving by the time i reach it. And my favourite - i now go around roundabouts much quicker! Instead of approaching fast, braking, and going round at a reasonable speed - i now approach at a medium speed, allowing me to see the traffic in advance, and then get round the roundabout without even putting my brakes on! It sounds daft but its more fun... im cornering harder!! So, all in all, i now get approx 400miles to a tank (approx 29mpg), my lowest being 399, my best being 413. Thats 25% more, or another way, about £80 a month for me! It sounds ridiculous, but its not - i was shocked!

I like them... the soft top at least. ...until you sit inside

under powered to be honest, and a little small? Never driven one but look at the stats: http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/specs/Sum ... x?model=74 I raced a 2.5 in my old school e36 323 once and he didnt pull on me at all which he should have done in theory. Looks are good, but is more of a standard car - i rarely look twice at them. You see hundreds of them dont you? As an alternative (although nowhere near the quality/finish) i'd be more tempted to look at the crossfire - rarer than the 350z, making it more exclusive? People more likely to look twice? I'd have one if it wasnt for the shocking interior. ...but if you were asking about the Z4M Coupe on the other hand...

Cheers Adam, I've just phoned them and they spouted all this crap about forums being the worst thing ever as nobody knows what they're talking about, and that im wrong. And that infact they have 2 employees with 350z's running the exact same dimensions as what they were sending me! Then they disagreed with my figures, saying i was wrong... until about 10mins into the conversation he must have realised i was right, and suddenly started back tracking what he'd been saying... and they've now managed to find me some fronts in the size i wanted in the first place! So will be running 245/35/19 and 265/35/19. So he said i should be getting them Monday or Tuesday... we'll wait and see eh?
-
Hey folks, I ordered some wheels & tyres last week and im expecting delivery either tomorrow or Friday... BUT Im crapping it about the rolling radius now - i dont think its right. The shop advised me to get 245/40/19 on the front, and 265/35/19 on the rear, as thats the standard sizes their database recommends. The difference in aspect ratio is due to the increased width... but i now think thats gonna cause me the traction control problem. From the tyre size calculator, my current front to rear setup gives me: 225/50/17 front - 235/50/17 rear = +1.52% difference in circumference. The new setup will give me: 245/40/19 front - 265/35/19 rear = -1.52%!! So thats a 3.04% negative difference i.e. my rear wheel will now be smaller than my front. Anyone ever tried these sizes before?? Im a bit stuck though cos the sizes i originally wanted werent available (same with a 35 profile at the front) for another 8 weeks... so i just said yes to what they were offering. Am i screwed?
-
take a grinder to your front wheel, and claim for that too... then get a new set of alloys. Someone did that to me a few years ago and there was f*ck all i could do about it - i had proof i didnt damage it, but my insurance wasn't interested and just paid it.
-
Well correct me if I've misunderstood, but from what I can see here there is a version specifically for the OEM wheel and better still it's the cheapest of all the kits: http://www.z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?model=350z&cat=interior&prodid=2835 Seems to me it's roughly £200 plus shipping plus fittting (which they say is easy). Have I missed something?! Hmm... that wasn't on there when i looked at this last month - it specifically said for aftermarket wheels only. But still, we'd be looking at £230 for the part... plus what, £50 shipping + customs, and then maybe another £100 to fit it? (i've never swapped a steering wheel before - not something i fancy with airbags etc!). Thats an expensive toy... But it'd be great if you go for it... i would love to see it in action!
-
What put me off was needing an aftermarket steering wheel... i think the kit is like £350, but then getting a wheel etc etc... i cant be bothered!

Free Tickets to London Motorshow 23rd July - 1st August
marzman replied to steve_b's topic in Off Topic Discussion
I've just ordered 2 tickets... appears to work! -
definitely... my brother and i lowered my mk3 golf years ago... but we didnt have spring compressors, so we were trying to do it with some threaded bar, spanners, and some cable ties!! Needless to say it almost killed us when the cable ties snapped, and the spring shot off the strut, smashed the garage lights and dented the tin roof!! I thought i'd broke my hand but it was just bruised. Anyway, looks good buddy.
