  1. Yeah not driven one yet - but then im unlikely to be tracking it so im only going to be using 30% of it's potential on the road daily so im not that bothered about the dynamics. And it looks waaay better than an RS4.
  2. Whats your financial plan in 2-3 years time?? Buying a car is never a good way to save money if you have a specific financial goal in mind. Even if a R8 doesn't loss money your still spend money keeping the thing on the road. If your waiting for the current RR sport to depreciate than why not just keep your current car for 2 years?? But if you just want a new car don't over think things and just buy what you want, man maths and cars hardly ever make financial sense No financial plan... My aim is to keep my monthly outgoings on cars roughly the same indefinitely (excl maintenance). I could get an RRS now for the same price as an R8, but I currently drive the old shape RRS so im thinking whats the point. I might as well get an R8 (orother car) for a couple of years to enjoy.
  3. Right... been stewing on this for the last 2 weeks, and all i seem to keep coming back to is the R8. Im thinking get one of these for < £40k... enjoy it for 1-2 years by which time the current shape Range Rover Sport will have depreciated further - so then sell the R8 for what i paid for it, buy an RRS and get a 60's Mustang. I was driving along yesterday thinking to myself 'my current car's fine, i dont need and R8. In fact, screw Audi' etc etc... and literally that very second as i was having this argument with myself, an R8 drove past on the other side of the road and ruined what i was trying to make myself believe. It must have been a sign.
  4. I did this on my G-Wagen. It completely killed it. Covered anything sensitive meticulously, but it would never turn over again after that. Killed the starter motor somehow.
  5. Slight change of plans... looks like we're going to go to Thailand in June, and then Texas later in the year.
  6. Speedo is controlled by a fuse in the foot well. Double check them to start with. If the pod has stopped working too the white box behind the AC controls might be knackered?
  7. Nice. Im very tempted by one of these. Has it got the full digital gauge cluster with uprated stereo package, or standard?
  8. In that case... get yourself setup with a stool, a radio, and a drink and you'll be set.
  9. Best episode by far. That was mint. Eddie Jordan cracked me up.
  10. Are you rivetting it? I bonded mine with sikaflex after having the rivet holds filled before painting - but as the duct didnt quite match the profile of the bumper i had to lean my weight on it solid for over an hour until it set.
  11. Going to Texas later this year followed by Dominican Republic or Mexico, as my Dad's retiring to Austin. he used to live there but has been in upstate NY for the last 7 years. Need to do something before then but dont know what i fancy. I was going to go to the Catalunya GP but cant be bothered now.
  12. I dont really understand it. I got Pentonville Road (blue), Picadilly (yellow) and Kings Cross Station yesterday if any use to anyone.
  13. Hmmm very interesting! Actually i think i knew this but forgot about it.
  14. Come on Hugh... we want to see them.
  15. Yeah this week's felt like the most cohesive episode so far. When MLB was waiting for CH in Oman was the highlight... with the 'stuck in 2nd gear' line! Rory is okay... happy to give him more of a chance. It's CH's terrible acting which is my biggest annoyance.
  16. The 2.0d auto. 180bhp, 8.0 0-60 so not the slowest car in the world, although i dont know the torque specs etc.
  17. Okay... I found out that the Jaguar F-Pace has a full TFT cluster if you take the upgraded sat nav. Not easy to find this option on their site - took about 30mins of messing around with the options until i found it. I think this is the car for me... i've been strongly considering the F-pace for some time now, and this might have just sealed the deal. Time to book a test drive.
  18. Im a big F1 fan but i found it incredibly dull unfortunately. I think i'm actually missing the rivalry that Rosberg brung. That was about the only excitement of the last 3 years - and now thats gone.
  19. Yeah, its a shame the 370z doesnt have this. I'd definitely go for one if it did.
  20. How convenient. They know their market dont they.
  21. Maybe i should just get a new TT, become a hairdresser and be done with it. Audi's virtual cockpit seems to be the most comprehensive.
  22. Yeah, just found on the Audi site the full list of models on which the 'Virtual Cockpit' is available... and like you say its all models. 1. New Golf 2. New BMW X5/X6 3. New Volvo XC90 (and most of the new Volvo model range) 4. 2014 Range Rover Sport 5. 2010 Range Rover (Full Fat) 6. All new Audi's 7. 8. 9. 10. ...
  23. Gimmicky or not, i'm really keen for my next daily driver to have a digital gauge cluster... Finding out which cars have this as standard or optional extra is not easy so i risk limiting my options by missing out some potential cars simply as i dont know if they have this. It must be a full LCD cluster, not just a small screen in between the clocks. So guys, if you know of a car that has this option please add it below. Any make, any budget, up to £60k - Go...! 1. New Golf 2. New BMW X5/X6 3. New Volvo XC90 (and most of the new Volvo model range) 4. 2014 Range Rover Sport 5. 2010 Range Rover (Full Fat) 6. New Audi TT 7. New Audi A5 8. 9. 10. ...
