  3. Alex - can this be done with a regular blow torch - as i nearly went out and bought one last week for this purpose. Something like on of these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BLOW-TORCH-AUTO-PROF-PUSH-BUTTON-2-LIGHT-WITH-GAS-1600c_W0QQitemZ220414465484QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_3?hash=item3351b9d5cc&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A1683|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50
  4. I dont understand where his bad rep has come from?? At liverpool he was world class - then he went to madrid where he didnt do much - but neither did Beckham - and then he was forced to go to Newcastle who bid 5 million more than anyone else. At Newcastle he got injured (where a lot of players seem to do - people used to blame it on the training ground, remember?) and anyway, in a seriously crap team you cant fault him for losing a bit of appetite and not having amazing performances can you? If he signs and doesn't do well then i'll be suprised - but i cant understand what he personally has done to get such a bad rep.
  5. +1... or a guide to regreasing! I attempted to take mine off the other day with the car just jacked up - but they wouldn't budge.
  6. Are you kidding? This is a good deal for us. 20k a week is nout, and he'll only be getting upto 110k in bonuses if he does well - and if thats the case then fair play to him - and great for us! Owen is a box player which is precisely what we havent got - and he's the type of player that you always trust on the ball - unlike a youngster like Macheda or someone. Granted, he's not the answer to all our problems, but he's an ideal player to have on the bench.
  7. Cheers Dan, I gave them a call but they were no good - would only quote me for insuring the car as a normal car + track time... so it was coming out at £500!! So, tempcover.com - 1 day insurance for £22. Cant argue with that!
  8. Hey all, Okay, i bought an '88 RX7 for drifting on track yesterday, but dont know what the cheapest option for insurance will be... it is taxed and tested, and we'll be driving it on the road to and from events - so need insurance. Are there special insurance policies for 1 or 2 days a month? Or can you organise weekend insurance etc, or will it be cheaper to insure it for the year rather than keep messing about?? Any help appreciated!
  9. Thats actually half decent! If you could figure out how to maintain the bonnet shut line though i'd like it more, as the shape doesnt flow.
  10. +1. If you can afford to take the risk then go for it. But take martins advice and read up about it on my350z.com
  11. Hey guys, After a good solid 12 hours looking - i've found the car and paid the deposit - we're picking it up on Sunday Registered on http://www.driftworks.com - seems like a cool forum...! Anyway, spotted the car in their classifieds and have snapped it up. Looks like i got a good deal too - it was up a for £850 2 weeks ago and the guys steadily knocked it down by 50quid every few days!! I'm paying just £600! Its a 1988 Mazda RX7. 2.3 litre, 85k miles, and its already semi-drift ready as its been stripped, had the diff welded (first mod to non-LSD drift cars), and has a spare set of ghey pink wheels for drifting! Acording to the guy, it drives perfectly and there are no current issues with it, apart from on short journeys (less than 10miles) the engine can flood - so a fuel cut-off switch has been added. See his advert below:
  12. This is ace. I love it when you pair are flirting
  13. Its only 6 episodes which is a shame.... They make skins last for 20 episodes or whatever at an hour long each, but then just give us 24 mins of the inbetweeners.
  14. +1 i thought it was done with electricity.
  15. Okay - my track car plan is back on now, and i've got another mate coming in on the deal... so now 3 of us are going to buy a cheap-ass whip...! I've had a look at all suggestions that people have made, but they're all too expensive. Our OTR budget - incl collecting it, tax/ins for the day etc is £750! So, looking on fleabay - we appear to be limited to MX-5's and e36 318's... (e30's are worth more than e36's!!) Soooo does anyone know if we'll be able to unstick a 318 (once its stripped and all)... bearing in mind that the drift tracks are like ice? Anyone driven a 318 in the wet recently?? I feel a bit stupid asking this as i had a 316 about 4 years ago... but i dont think i could unstick it - although i never tried!
  16. Erm... i was eating my popcorn first... i was just being polite about it.
  17. Aren' these the mucho $$$ endlinks Alex? I need some standard endlinks as mine creak like a sinking ship and need to replace them!
  18. Hmmm... i think thats where my Engine Management light is... i'll check tonight on my way home.
  19. Just put this on ebay now http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270418333481
  20. Post up a picture of the sticker location mate - and someone will be able to tell you what should be there... Worrying if it is the engine management light though
