Hi all,
I've not spoken to the mods about this yet so not sure what the protocol is, but i've started to make LED front reflectors.
I've finally finished my first one tonight... 7x Superbright white 5mm LED's...!
The back has been cut off the standard reflector, holes drilled through the front and the LED's mounted in these holes. The wiring is in the unit itself, and i have then filled it with clear silicone to protect against moisture causing short circuits etc.
I've tested this with my 12v power supply in the house, but have not yet hooked it up to the car... So i'll be putting them on this weekend.
I want to run them for a month before i start offering them for sale, incase any issues crop up... i dont want to be held responsible for blowing any of your fuses...
Also this weekend i will be attempting to make a prototype complete replacement for the reflectors, as they're just an unnecessary cost imho... so watch this space for that.
Lastly, im considering adding in some amber LED's for the indicators, but this may be impossible due to space constraints... would anyone be interested in this?
Price-wise, if using the standard reflectors, i think £40 incl p&p on a part-exchange basis, or £55 if you're buying them outright? If you want to p/x your orange reflectors, add a fiver as i'll be spraying them black.
Opinions/criticisms very welcome here, and mods if i shouldnt be posting this, please remove it.
Cheers.
