  1. A lot of cars mentioned are lacking in the looks department though. How about a TT? Can be quick, economical and good looking...
  2. Track to the tip... exactly! As long as its economical too.
  3. Just a bit of fun, inspired by Wendy's post on Keysers thread here What is the best all round car? I know many of us run more than one car, and even that's not enough to tick all the boxes sometimes. I think most of us want a great looking, high performance car that's economical and can be versatile if needed. Sadly that car doesn't exist - but what's the closest we can get to it? I like 4x4 style cars for the more comfortable driving position and their versatility, but the ones i've had (Range Rover Sport) don't handle well and are definitely not economical. On this basis I feel like the mid-size SUV's or SUV-Coupe's might be strong performers here, but they're all so ugly. I'm going to vote Porsche Macan (nb i've not driven one so i'm assuming the Porsche credentials will mean it handles well) I feel like Audi estates might fare well on people's lists...
  4. Thats just the new forum now, sadly. I complained about this several times but the team have been unable to change the view in the 'Unread Content' view despite the rest of the site working perfectly.
  5. So can you use a dashcam to claim off a 3rd party's insurance if they've not stopped to exchange details, is that how it works? Great if so.
  6. Because you're lumping a Nissan Leaf in with this absolute beauty of a car, which vary wildly from one another. Your reason for why other cars should have their own threads applies completely to this case too. I'm not asking for these threads to be split back out by the way, but i'd like to think members/mods consider this next time.
  7. So by that logic, lets just have an 'other cars' thread, and not discuss any other cars in posts of their own, such as the Mustang thread. /sarcasm And I do see the point of that, it makes sense. As i said, im not interested in EV's, their advantages/disadvantages etc. I just want to talk about cool cars, but i and i guess others would have been deprived that opportunity if the thread had been started in here because I wouldn't have bothered looking in here.
  8. Seriously? Any mention of an EV car has to move to this thread? Im not particularly interested in EV cars but things like the Mission E should be discussed openly for all to see - it's one of the nicest looking cars in years! I wouldn't have seen it if it was buried in this thread. It's an 'Other Car' so why cant it be discussed in the 'Other Cars' sub-forum?
  9. Although i'm not sure about the red light on the front with the statement 'Run when light activated'. Run what... away?
  10. The Mission E. Pretty gorgeous if you ask me. Thanks for sharing.
  11. Agree on both of these points. Car wise, I would go down Hugh's route and get some American muscle if youre doing so few miles. Old school Mustang that needs a little bit of work and won't depreciate. Only comes out on summer evenings/weekends. You don't need a performance car as you've been there and done that plus have the Radical, and i reckon having an R8/GTR would give you the same dilemma again in 3 years.
  12. I've never leased a car but it is really tempting. I frequently look on www.allcarleasing.co.uk - does anyone know of any better sites? The 140i on there can be had for £243 incl VAT with a £3k initial payment and 5k miles. https://www.allcarleasing.co.uk/car-leasing/bmw/1-series/hatchback-special-edition/m140i-shadow-edition-5dr-step-auto
  13. I know this doesnt help, but on a track day at Anglesea circuit last year there was a 140i, and it had the best-sounding exhaust I've ever heard. It literally sounded like a fighter jet doing a flyby at full chat. Didnt get a chance to speak to the owner to find out what he was running, but I'd never been into them until hearing this.
  14. Really sorry to hear this mate. Just so unlucky and unfair, its impossible to comprehend.
  15. When did you pass your driving test Stu? I've got a V8 diesel Range Rover Sport which is rapid and supremely comfortable. I picked up an RX8 for track days last summer, and my plan was to get a trailer - until i found out I needed to do a trailer test as I passed my test after 1997. Edit. Both are for sale if you want to buy them. I'll do you a deal.
  16. Have you tried swapping the ballast from the other side to confirm?
  17. You'd think so, but from my personal experience you cant rely on this. In my case, the item was allegedly signed for too. I saw the illegible image of the signature and didnt recognise it. In my opinion the driver stole the item from me and faked a signature as he knew the system and there was nothing i could do. Not saying that has happened in this case, but it's a possible explanation.
  18. Added to this... just because the courier company states that your item was delivered, doesnt mean it actually was. I got completely jipped by My Hermes this year when they stated they delivered something to me, when i hadnt received it. I posted about it on here. I was the innocent party and did nothing wrong, but because the company said they delivered it, it was their word against mine and I was £60 out of pocket. Couldnt get my money back and ebay were unwilling to help. My point is, things arent always as black and white as they seem.
  19. I agree with the majority of your points Coldel. My breakdown is below.
