  1. Hey... My best mate wants a low-key stag do in November, which he's asked me to organise... He only wants 4 or 5 of us to go, and wants it to be cheap. So... after a bit of googling, im thinking start off at Hooters in Nottingham for some food & drinks Go to the dog track for the evening Club and or strip club late on... Any thoughts? I've been to Hooters in America, which was pretty good, but how does the UK one compare? Also, i've never been to the dogs... is this any good?? Any advice much appreciated.
  2. Nissan X-Trail pads fit the standard JDM brakes Jim. Go to any motor factors and get them to check the part numbers on the fairlady vs the X-trail, and they will match. Alternatively, i have a set of front Endless VN pads for the JDM, that didnt do many miles before i replaced the whole lot... which you can have for a tenner plus p&p... viewtopic.php?f=32&t=31557&hilit=endless
  3. Dont enterprise deliver vehicles for you? Go in on the weekend and order it to be delivered.
  4. In theory its a piece of...cake, but in practice, all your bolts will be seized on and you'll probably have to use heat to get them off. When i had mine done i took it to my mate at the garage, and it took him an hour to get it off, and ended up burning every but off...!
  5. Will be painfully expensive... i got some from CS last year, and paid around £4 each...!
  6. e.g. excerpt from the manual - it mentions slipping! Fail-Safe ACS000HJ The TCM has an electrical fail-safe mode. This mode makes it possible to operate even if there is a an error in a main electronic control input/output signal circuit. In fail-safe mode, even if the select lever is “D†or “M†mode, the transmission is fixed in 2nd, 4th, or 5th (depending on the breakdown position), so the customer should feel “slipping†or “poor accelerationâ€. When fail-safe mode is triggered, when the ignition switch is switched “ONâ€, the A/T CHECK indicator lamp flashes for about 8 seconds. (Refer to AT-84, "TCM SELF-DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE (NO TOOLS)" ). Even when the electronic circuits are normal, under special conditions (for example, when slamming on the brake with the wheels spinning drastically and stopping the tire rotation), the transmission can go into fail-safe mode. If this happens, switch “OFF†the ignition switch for 10 seconds, then switch it “ON†again to return to the normal shift pattern. Also, the A/T CHECK indicator lamp flashes for about 8 seconds once, then is cleared. Therefore, the customer's vehicle has returned to normal, so handle according to the “diagnostics flow†(Refer to AT-42 ). FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION If any malfunction occurs in a sensor or solenoid, this function controls the A/T to mark driving possible. Vehicle Speed Sensor A/T (Revolution Sensor) Signals are input from two systems - from vehicle speed sensor A/T (revolution sensor) installed on the transmission and from combination meter so normal driving is possible even if there is a malfunction in one of the systems. And if vehicle speed sensor A/T (revolution sensor) has unusual cases, 5th gear and manual mode are prohibited. Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor If there is a malfunction in one of the systems, the accelerator opening angle is controlled by ECM according to a pre-determined accelerator angle to make driving possible. And if there are malfunctions in tow systems, the engine speed is fixed by ECM to a pre-determined engine speed to make driving possible.
  7. Before getting it swapped - work through the diagnosis parts of the manual i attached - It may be somethign as simple as to replace the fluid etc. You can do the steps in the manual yourself i would think.
  8. What width are your wheels? Are they staggered 8.5 and 9.5? If so, you should be running 245/35/19 on the front and 275/35/19 on the rear.
  9. Did you get your original problem diagnosed first before buying the new box???
  10. Spotted at Tytherington shops, Macclesfield on Sunday. Nismo spoiler and alloys (which i recognise but cant think of the name).
  11. Wayne's the man when it comes to detailing, so i stand corrected.
  12. Nope, thats correct in my opinion.
  13. No way mate. I would be fuming. You have to ask him if he did it, and if he denies, tell him he's not cleaning your windows anymore.
  14. That's been for sale for ages mate... i saw it for sale back in June i think, and it sold for like £12.5k which was over the reserve price, but then it was relisted... so either the buyer messed him about or he got there and found out there was something wrong with it!
  15. Your brakes squeal when the pads need changing i think...

    dead zed

I think people may be confusing jumping with bumping. Bump start requires more than one person or some stuntman style actions if doing on your own. Jump requires two electrical leads. +1 You can jump start both auto and manual, but only bump start a manual.
  17. Dont convert it. The auto is great. If i was you i would buy a used auto box because as i said, i've never seen or heard of another auto problem.
  18. I like his links (apart from the duck/dog one ). I wouldnt normally look on his site as i've got nothing driving me there, but posting links here is almost like an RSS feed, so i get to see something i otherwise wouldnt.
  19. Sure its not simon off the Inbetweeners?
  20. I remember him preaching to Ian a few weeks ago...
