  1. I had my zed when i was 23/24.... and it cost me £2550 to insure. Then when i turned 25, it dropped down to £700. So 25 does still have an impact!
  2. Could it be the seatbelt bracket? Mine used to squeak there....
  3. I was trying my best to get the figures to look appealing for a zed, but at the current fuel prices and with my mileage, it was gonna be £140 extra in fuel alone each month... £35 a week for a zed? Not too bad when you put it like that, but it is a waste of money really!
  4. See - this is the other problem... i dont really want to spend £15k on a diesel when i can buy a zed for £9k instead...leaving me £6k to spend on fuel..
  5. Hi all... What are the top 10 fastest/most fun to drive diesels on sale in the UK? My ideal car would be a BMW 635d, but these are close to £30k... My budget is basically as cheap as possible, but upto £15k Basically, I want a zed that does 50mpg, but this doesnt exist... so i need a close alternative. Discuss...!
  6. Club MSV operate all 'official' public track experiences at many UK racing circuits. However Oulton Park sublet the drift track to Driftone, which is what you saw. Check out this site: http://www.clubmsv.com/car-home/drifting.aspx You will be totally fine in your car, and you get free instruction too. It doesnt touch your tyres as its a special drifting circuit with a high glass content, polished tarmac.
  7. Exactly right. In 3 years of zed ownership, and having owned all RWD cars bar 2 in my life, i have honestly to date never 'lost' the back end. If it is damp or wet, you have to respect the road and understand the balance of your car etc. You must feather the throttle and feel the role that inertia plays when cornering.
  8. This is at oulton park on their drift track. You can do this for £140 for a full day in your own car with Club MSV (operates Oulton Park, Brands Hatch etc. I've done it myself many times before, and its well worth the money.
  9. Good question... I think the tipping point is about now for me to be honest. I do a lot of miles for work, and only get 25p per mile in return, so someone told me i need to have a 42mpg car in order to break even on a business trip So any car that does less than 42mpg is costing me money out of my pocket to go and visit clients. What a joke. I dont want to have the zed as a weekend car as i hardly do any weekend driving.
  10. Yeah, I remember me & Fiddy splitting the shipping cost of £100 between us Where did fiddy go? Just looked and he's not posted here since July... I've not been on here as much so probably missed his disappearance...
  11. Thats pretty funny, but what a knob that guy i part 1 is...
  12. I've only been driving 6 years, and had my zed for almost 3... BMW 323 Coupe (Current Car) Fiesta 1.2 (Inbetween car) 350z BMW 320 Coupe Mazda RX7 BMW 328 Coupe BMW 323 Coupe BMW 320 Coupe BMW 316 Coupe VW Golf Mk3 1.4 Escort 1.3
  13. Go and unscrew the one on the other side, and go down to b&q and buy onr thats similar!
  14. No way didnt know you'd written it off... i loved your zed...
  15. Have you got a quote to repair it from a cheaper garage than the insurers used? If you can repair it for less than the £1550 then repair it, keep it, and have some money in your pocket for the trouble.
  16. I know 2 people with LPG. 1st has an older shape Range Rover and he said its great - he gets what would work out as 35mpg which is pretty good for a 4.4 litre petrol. He had it installed which cost £2k, but i dont know if he's done the miles to make it pay for itself over 5 yrs... 2nd mate had a mk1 Vectra which he had converted to LPG... he had it about 8 yrs, but he had frequent problems with the ECU - it kept screwing up and he had to take it to the garage all the time. I'd be nervous about getting one myself to be honest though...
  17. No problem. The F1 game looks
