Did you do the window reset procedure when you had your door card off? That will reset them so they work correctly...

Small update... I just bought a car tonight... 1.3 Petrol Fiesta, 88k, £1600. I've been to see 8 cars in the last week and they were all crap, but this one looked fine and had lots of receipts. It has an oil leak, but it is getting fixed by the dealer first. Overall im fairly happy, and its a great first car for my fiance, who im teaching to drive...

Yep it was just as fun... it was all on the motorway anyway so it was absolutely no difference, accept that as im going a bit slower i now have time to notice everyone turning and staring at my car...

I had to drive up to Durham today to meet some clients, which was a bit of a trek...! So i set off with the intention of driving as economically as i could... i.e. not using my brakes, not revving past 3k revs etc... i kept at a constant speed of 70mph most of the way, dropping down to 50mph for about 20 miles due to roadworks/average speed cameras... and i managed to get home with a reading of 34.97 MPG... Im very happy with that. Just thought i'd share..

Get some WD or Plus Gas or similar on them a few days before... i managed to round the nuts off on mine and had to get a garage to basically burn them off with the acetylene torch...

Have a search... all of the above are discussed on here on a daily basis.

Have you got an external hard drive? If so, boot it up in safe mode (either keep pressing F8 during boot up, or keep switching it off mid-startup until it prompts you for safe mode), and then put EVERYTHING on your external drive, and then re-install windows. Should take you 2 hours tops.

Hi all, Im after a first car for the missus as she's learning to drive at the moment. I've been looking for a small diesel hatchback for about 3 weeks now without any luck. I'll also be borrowing it every now and then for work as i do a lot of miles, so it needs to be big enough to be comfortable on the motorway. My criteria is: Reliable Up to 10 years old Diesel Hatch back (ie. no sticky out boot, so its easy for her to drive) Under 100k miles. Not too small. I would like a civic, but they're around £3k at the mo (and i dont want to spend too much, because i just know she'll crash it - everyone does when they start driving!) Not interested in anything french... Anyone? I've spent the last 3 hours on autotrader/ebay looking for options... i've called about 10 people and they're either all sold, or sound like a scam (crap excuses why i cant come to the garage to view
