  1. Just been reading through this as I had been looking at the AAM one on Z1 and was thinking of investing. After reading this I am getting that the general overall feeling was that these were useless, unless you got the AAM one that Adam had. I know a couple of you guys have since bought and ran these, Mark, Biscuit, any further thoughts? I guess if they do save on petrol then they are worth the investment? Been reading about performance throttle bodies on the uank sites, like the helix one and the 350evo one, are these any better for power\torq gains?
  2. Just a feeler really to see if anyone has any bits, I have been through a lot of the for sale section, but most old adverts are now sold. I have been looking at a few new bits, mainly air flow, but thought it would be worth seeing if anyone was getting rid or had any bits hanging around. Any of the following would be of interest Exhaust: Nismo, Greddy, HKS, Injen, Tanabe, 5Zigen or something similar, would love true dual High Flow Cats: Kinetix \ Berks or similar Motordyne Spacer 5/16 PM me if you have something that might be of interest. Cheers Glenn
  3. I really want this front end soon, with the nismo sides, havent decided on rear and spoiler yet, but probably going to go full V2 kit. Is it a genuine Nismo or a good shine one? Mind me asking what it set you back, total with fitting and paint?
  4. Great deal, shame mine is Blade
  5. Basically, your talking about £1000 all in to have a good time, about right?
  6. I keep thinking about this myself, toying with the idea of going to Japan for a holiday this year and would love to bring things back. Wondering if I would get stung by customms though and how easy it would be to bring larger parts home without getting caught or getting it damaged! I guess smaller bits like Induction kits, small engine parts like spacers etc would be good for you to keep an eye out for!
  7. hmmm maybe a non-bank holiday weekend would be better if there are going to be loads of cars there and the hoels are booked out? Just a thought, but happy to do whatever
  8. where did you get this done sketch? Was it just a dyno? I am guessing that 240 was at the hubs so that sounds like what a 276bhp early Zed like mine should be putting out at the wheels. With all those bits you should be alot higher than that. I know some on here that have had low figures then gone to Abbey for a tune and re-map\uprev and then ran good numbers so I would suggest getting down there for that

  10. I like the look of the filter placement on these. Does anyone make anything similar for the early Zed's, where the filter is placed there instead of lower down in the grille? This looks like the best option for the car, as you arent getting heatsoak from the engine and you also dont have to worry about Hydrolock. Any ideas for early Zeds?
  11. Sounds good Adrian, they are such good value for money then against other systems! I had been agonising over the HKS Hi Power, but I just dont feel that I can justify the cost, no matter how rare and exclusive they are in the UK and how sweet they sound, it just doesnt seem worth the money!
  12. haha if I change my mind I will surely let you know!
  13. Pretty good figure for just running an exhaust set up mate, impressed!! Did you not have a popcharger or anything else? I have been looking at that exhaust as it is good value for money, this is the proof I needed that the performance stacks up to!!
  14. also for anyone interested (not many no doubt ) this is the kit I have. I do realise I have had this a while and it is not fitted. Mainly because insurance to do these things is now affordable!! Ahh the joys of being old. http://forums.**REMOVED**.com//index.p ... &hl=simota
  15. If anyone not clued up like me is interested in the Hydro-Shield for their CAI, it is by Injen and JDM do them quite cheaply http://www.jdmperformance.co.uk/searchp ... odID=52210
  16. cheers guys. I have made my mind up to get a Hydra-Sheild and enjoy the growl!! I knew I just needed talking into it
  17. To be honest, the amount I drive the car, I doubt I will ever have the issue, and I will just make sure I avoid puddles!
  18. I actually dont know what make it is, I bought it off of ZMANALEX a long time ago I think he said it was a custom one that he used on his cars. I will PM him and ask, but it looks very similar to the AEM one. if its good enough for alex then it will be fine. he knows his stuff and he wouldn't use a piece of garbage. i'd fit it, its fairly sheltered in the wheel, arch, i wouldn't if it sat infront of the grille. Oh no, if Alex supplied it then it is great kit, I am sure of that, have had lots of stuff off him in the past and always top stuff. The only thing that is stopping me is the danger of water. Unfortunately it does go behind the grille on the Zed, not in the wheel arch. I have just seen something called a Hydra-Shield on the US sites that might help!
  19. Stage1: Grounding Kit Air Filter Hoses\Locks Engine Damper Short Shift Stage 2: Cat Back Exhaust HFC \ De Cats Plenum Spacer Performance Radiator Unless your going FI i wouldnt bother with a lot of that! For your best gains N/A i would go for: Upgraded exhaust and Y pipe, Decats/High flow cats, Intake, plenum spacer. Then Remap I had been wondering if I needed everything, I have just been reading guides on what to do in each stage and these are what is recommended, btu I did wonder if I needed all of it. Good answer thanks. by "intake" I guess you mean CAI\Popcharger

  22. in that case the choice is simple, the panel filter. I was worried someone would say that!! It is, but I will hate not having that sound that everyone goes on about. How likely is Hydrolock with the CAI, is it really only if you drive through a flood, or can just light rain affect it, anyone know from experience/
  23. well up for this, it is something I have been meaning to do for some time now and I would love to go with other Z owners!! Got lots of holiday this year so I will be keeping an eye out for when you guys do it. John - when you thinking of going Mark(3FIDDYZED) - would you fancy going again?
  24. I know this has been discussed many times and I have just sat and read so many threads on UK sites and US sites to get an opinion and make a decision, but to be hopnest it has made me even more confused and un-decided?!?! I am starting to mod my car now and I want to go full N\A to atleast the start of Stage 3, so mainly just the small bits to gain a little HP and Torque and a better niose. Mainly though power gain and feel of the car is of most importance to me. I currently have a CAI that has been sitting in my garage for longer than I would care to tell you, it is very nice, bright red and will add engine bay bling and I am sure a nice growl. The reson I bought this was because I got a good price and because I had been reading about the heat soak problems with pop chargers, but now all I read about is Hydrolock issues with the CAI So should I : * Fit the CAI as Hydrolock is very unlikely and enjoy the sound and small power gain from pure cold air * Sell the CAI and buy a short ram, JWT or Stillen et al and enjoy the sound, have the heat soak, but not have the worry of hydrolock - do they make a good short ram now a days that has a good enough design that has no heat soak issues? * Keep the OEM box, drop in a performance panel filter, not have the nice sound, but not worry about heatsoak or hydro lock, but probably gain a little power as some say this is the best route for N\A tuning? Answers and for and against opinions greatly appreciated, I know this has been dicussed alot, so I apologise again. Thanks
  25. No worries Mark, I can wait, I stillneed to look at things, or should I say drool over things!! I may need to book in for a P1 also, so I will call you about that. Long way to go for a P1 from Enfield, but I would rather have your stamp in my history from now on
