Thanks for moving Mike. Just seen that pollution in the water - OMG! It's too hot to sunbath, but will be back out for a few scoops later on

I just wanted to say a big thankyou to Martin for inviting us both along to the pub in Bala to present the card & champagane in celebration of our wedding on the 16th May. It was such a surprise and a lovely touch and it just goes to show how fantastic this website & forum is. I loved the comment about Dave (Beavis) banning weddings in May ! I'll post a photo of the card when I'm back home. Shame I missed the run out, but I will be around next time! Here's a couple of photos from Saturday We had this owl fly down the aisle with the 2 rings attached to one of it's claws And we are currently here, our proper honeymoon will follow later this year, but I looked at this weeks weather and thought against Centreparcs - this was booked at the very very last minute on Monday at 2pm, and we arrived here at 9pm same day , these are views from our balcony - anybody jealous !!! :

Great pics guys - the ones at Mike's house are particularly interesting!

How friendly is the wales trip to your arse!

And ditto what Martin said, they have a helipad in Corwen which they use for refuelling. It's about 5 miles from Bala Lake, a location you would never think would be used for helicopters. I do think it's more to do with the bikers but better safe than sorry! -
Looking good! Flippin cheap if you ask me.
-
Shame Nissan didn't bother releasing a special edition run out model on the 350z, I guess that's what the GT4 did anyway. Still would have been nice to see a Nismo model for the UK!

Seriously I wouldn't bother changing them for Bala! Save your tread for more spirited runs! Remember, there will circa 60 cars and I don't think the mods will be happy about anybody gunning it anyway. 3mm will be fine anyway, it's not as if it's winter either! Oh, and we do have Tarmac roads in Wales you know - it's not gravel like you see on WRC! -
Nah, windows mobile all the way!!! Free roms for my HTC thanks!

It does look cool but would be intereting to see how the vinyl holds up to stone chips and door dings, but I guess you can just get that section re-wrapped?

I bet that can be fixed. The garage where I had my rays refurbed last week had an old Capri alloy that had a dint in it. They said they were going to repair it. The guy had asked them to repair it as he couldn't get hold of a replacement. I'd pay the money to get that repaired - they're Racing Harts !!!
-
I used one on a regular basis last year, I was paying £15 payg for 2gb at the time I think (sounds like the allowance has gone up to 5gb now). You lose your allowance after the month as well - it doesn't carry forward. It's a pain in the ar*e remembering the day you added credit as well, you have to note it in a diary. Then you have to top up again online...I think they give you a couple of minutes access to the net to top up if you have no credit - again seems a bit old fashioned this day and age. I would much prefer say a SMS top up or voice automated top up. I must say it was hit and miss, when it worked it was great, when it didn't it was awful- I was working in Derby at the time and some nights I couldn't get any reception at all - it was total pants. It's OK if your desperate but I wouldn't rely on it if you travel around due to the coverage issues. Oh, and don't think your going to get anything near broadband speeds, I was getting 128kb sometimes, OK it's better than dialup but you get used to 8mb broadband at home and live on O2 3G seems soooo slow. Not many other options out there really - I would suggest you borrow one first before you spend £££ on a dongle. Or just to go McDonalds car parks - free wifi

Somebody give this man a beer Great find Ross, thanks for sharing.

Here ya go bud:- viewtopic.php?f=35&t=12328&p=168909&hilit=what+are+the+wheel+torque+settings#p168909 somewhere between 85 - 110 will do the job, I set mine at 105 and no probs. And what he said above - check them 100 miles or so, bit of a pain to do it all again but gives you peace of mind. Enjoy your kerb hunters It does make the Zed look a lot better though doesn't it!

Defo get that wheel off and worse case take them spacers off. Might be easier just to take then to a garage and get them fitted shouldn't cost more than £20. I'd be worried about the handbrake especially as your jacking it up - it could roll forward!!! And I'm not gonna patronise you mate but I am sure the handbrake is part of the MOT check isnt it? I've just checked and it is "An assistant operates the handbrake while the condition of the linkages and/or cables is checked"
-
Will be in Bala for about 1 hour, all welcome to see them! Difficult weekend for me......something to do with getting married on the Saturday
-
Morning When I fitted mine I used a socket set with an extension on it - might be worth investing in one mate. The rear wheels shouldn't turn when fitting the spacers as your handbrake should stop them - unless you didn't have the handbrake on. Otherwise you will have to get somebody to press the brake pedal. And....you will have the same problem with the wheels moving on the front and there's no other way around this, the only thing to do is have somebody else press the brake pedal when tightening them up - like I did. You must make sure the spacer nuts are tight! They need to be torqued up to the same nm as the wheel nuts (I think 105 nm is the setting). There's a link on here somewhere. Might also be wise to invest in a torque wrench - get cheap ones for £20. Remember, those hubcentric spacers are now officially the only link to your tyres so you need to make sure they're tight and flush. And it's also wise to recheck them 500 miles after as the brakes get hot and might be safe to check the spacer nuts. But don't panic when I rechecked mine they were all torqued up nicely. I've had no knocking & no problems fitting mine so if you follow the above you should be OK!

Great Pics guys, look like the weather was good there as well. Shame I didn't make it....just too darn busy to you know what... See you in Bala for a quickie

Have fun guys! Look forward to seeing more pics!

I kerbed one of mine badly a couple of weeks ago, I tried a home repair but it went bad - I would never do a self repair on alloys again. Anyway, I was advised to get both rims on the same side refurbed so the colour would match. I decided to get the full set done cost me £240 (I live nr. Chester so miles from you). Anyway, here's the link to my post with pics of my refurbed wheels:- viewtopic.php?f=61&t=22598 They look absolutely mint now and I cant stop looking at them! They look like new. Find a good refurb garage and get them done - you won't be disappointed. Oh, and I'm starting to love my rays again now - before they looked sh*te and now they look bling! I'm not even considering an upgrade now.

Cheers pal, will have a gander next week.
