'Twas me I think
-
I think it was, the sound was like nothing I've heard before - it was amazing, I think I've seend the perfect track car!
-
(Should have posted this in track days - sorry, oh well too late now)... Went to the circuit in Anglesey last Saturday for the first time. What a great looking track, it was really quiet but there was an Aerial Atom doing the circuit and it was flippin amazing...I've done a video but haven't had time to upload it. There were a couple of Lotus Elige's there as well, and they all had trailers for their track cars....flash barstools. Anyway, I really fancy doing the circuit, current available dates are Sat 29/3 / Sun 30/3 - no other weekends after that so far... Prices are £160 / £175 respectively - any body fancy this? I know it's close to Donny but I really want to do this. Briefing starts at 9.00 and the price is for full days track use in your car. (This is the track 5th gear use a lot as well - great location) Website:- http://www.angleseycircuit.com/index.html Link to track dates:- http://bookatrack.com/-pE So come on.... who needs a stress release in their zed

Thinking of you mate, really sorry to hear this.
-
Never had a problem with the vibration sorry. My stereo did skip when cold, had it replaced before the warranty run out - all ok now. I did manage to live with the skipping by playing the radio until the stereo warmed up. 35 psi all round as a general rule of thumb
-
I feel so honoured that all you zeders are coming to Bala, the car is so rare on the road, 40 passing my house is Would be fantastic however many convoys if we can all meet before we drive through bala town centre. Would make a fantastic Youtube video as well! So Stuey - when's this dry run then?

Off the top of my head the Innkeepers lodge is a cheap (and very cheerful) £45 weekend rate if I rememeber... taxi distance to Chester as well.
-
IMHO this should go to a vote for the dates. And anyway, the Bala run is great (just for the food ) oh, and the roads, and Stuey leading
-
How did you get your p3 so cheap then? Did you supply your own oil? Just had my P1 Tuesday gone at Nissan Chorley £120 and supplied my own oil and I thought that was cheap.
-
You got a good deal there. I had my rear driveshafts replaced last month out of warranty - Nissan Chester got NMGB to agree to pay 50%, think the total bill was about £850, so I ended up paying £425 - so keep smiling you saved a lot! TBH, I think paying £425 was worth it to get rid of click, click, clickty click, flippin click !!!!!!!!!
-
T'was me Stanski - didn't see you Funny thing was though, about 5 mins before you saw me I passed an Azure Blue by the Warrington junction! (Got your Zed yet - we've got a Bala meet coming up in April hopefully )

What not to do: Test driving a Zed before you can afford it!
NWZ replied to AK350Z's topic in 350Z General
Where do you live? We can all drive past your house loud pedal fashion - that should get your arse in gear to buy mate -
Anybody else have a problem filling right up to the brim? For the last week when I fill up to the clicks and the gauge is only showing 3/4 full. I reckon I'm losing about £10 a tank which is a pain if I'm doing long journeys. To give you more of an idea, filled up from nearly empty yesterday, dte read 80 miles, cost £45.00, dte now says 330 miles. Sounds about right but what happened to the 60? 70? litre tank (can't remember what size it is). Help!
-
Try lip reading oncoming drivers, spot the young lads saying "look at that....350z" - noticed it loads of times!
-
That's pretty scary to read about Mike, at least your OK. Out of interest how fast were you going and were you going steady on the accelerator? I can't really say an awful lot about the 'Stones on my car as they were only on for 1 month and it was dry, I did tail on a roundabout doing 10 mph in the wet and that was enough for me. Changed to MPS (got the old ones), I would say they seem OK in the wet but I'm still not convinced. I was pulling off a roundabout the other day (the one leading by the little chef going towards the M56), I was in 2nd gear did give the car about half a press of the loud pedal and the back end stepped out (I was going in a straight line before I accelerated as well), just took my foot of the accelerator and it stepped back in and all was ok (it was about 3 degrees outside so I guess the road could have been a bit icy, but it's a really busy road, so I'm confused) - the misses wasn't too happy and her words to me were - what's it going to be like when the weather gets really bad.... bit worrying I would agree. I'm defo going easy on the loud pedal until March next year at least. The thing that's getting me p'd with the Zed is all this back end stepping out business, just makes me feel on edge all the time in the wet. And god knows if we have really bad snow - I'm considering winter tyres - they're compulsory in Germany, they have similar winters to us.
-
Yeah I tend to have a 350 mile commute (on a Sunday :teeth:) Right, where's that tunnel then
-
Nah, that's absolute bull. Just had mine replaced last week, NMGB agreed to pay 50% as the car is only just out of warranty - cost me £400 still hurt a bit but defo worth it and I have 12 months warranty on the driveshafts now. NMGB don't agree to pay VAT so the total bill all in was about £750. For BOTH driveshafts. I have the paperwork to show it. Oh, and I had extended RAC warranty but I cocked up as they need the car to be serviced every 6k and I didn't read that bit.... damn.

Stan, The shell c.card is open to everybody. It's a mastercard (Citi). Defo worth it if you do a lot of miles (like us). As far as comfort goes, I've had my Zed since Sept this year and done 12k miles! I just love driving... No probs with seat comfort absolutely fine. When your on a motorway you can actually forget your in a 3.5 sports car it drives as good as any of the Germans motors, in fact I would say the weightyness of the wheel and the performance in the brakes (I've upgrade so might make a difference) are both brilliant. I'm self employed and had the chance to buy any German saloon but chose the Zed 'cos I wanted one badly! Best choice I ever made, sod the miles and the petrol! A couple of years ago I had a Lexus IS200 and was getting circa 400 miles out of a tank which was costing at today's price about £45. I fill up the Zed for about £50 and get about 330 miles to a tank - not much difference is there really. And the power is on tap if you want to get sub 200 miles to a tank on your loud pedal days. One other thing, the car is so rare you'll hardly see another on a road for days (unless were passing M56 <->), it feels special to drive as well and it looks the absolute dogs knackers. When you take the car for a test drive, open your window and floor it. Then come back and tell us when your buying one! Just make sure you come back here for buying tips before you make any rash decisions (what to look out for etc). If it's local any of us northern boys will be happy to come along and give some advice....

Who's Radiohead - OK, 1) Defo no droal when driving on Motorways, even if you go over 70, but I didn't tell you that! Seriously, Zero droal and even quiet as well. To give you an idea, the exhaust doesn't really start to kick in with loudness until it gets to say 3.5k revs, Motorway driving you'll be pushing around 3k revs doing 70-80. 2) In the dry the car is sweet noise wise, it's only when it's raining you can hear the water around the tyres but I believe you can Dynomat the boot space to reduce the noise but haven't tried that as it really isn't that bad tbh. 3) What's this 2-3 hour drive home? You must be doing 20mph! The roads aren't that bad are they? 4) I guess you know there's a Shell garage near Mold and there's one in Chorley so getting V-Power for me is no probs, I also use a Shell C.Card for my fuel purchases and get 5p per litre back for 3 months so seems like a good deal. Anyway, I can tell you now that on your drive to work you'll be getting off at Chester services and taking the B road to work - load pedal mandatory. Oh, and you'll be able to come on our Bala run...... great roads out there. Good luck with the purchase!
-
Hi Stan, I almost mirror your journey! I live in Buckley and my daily drive is about 60 miles each way to Chorley. My pod says I average 28 mpg on my journeys. If I pootle along, no hard revs and stick to 70 each journey costs me about £7 (I tested it the other week to find out, so not bad at all I rekon). But... if you drive it hard then expect nowhere near that...and that's the trouble with the Zed it is so tempting to bury the loud pedal! If I pootle along I can get about 350 miles out of a tank, if I push it hard then it drops back to about 220 miles to a tank. Go for it if you can afford the petrol - you seriously wont look back. The motorway cruise is also absolutely fine.
-
Get a holdall! Much friendlier on the plastic in the boot, lighter to carry as well! On a side note, I've managed to get 10 bags of food shopping in my boot (in the physical boot behind the strut). Loads of space! Just lucky we haven't got a S2000 boot!
-
Welcome aboard Ads! There's a few of us up here from the NW area, you missed the Bala meet but hopefully there will be one early next year! Anyway, the back end is a bit tail happy in the wet, as the others have said the 'Stones are more prone to it. I've recently changed from 'Stone to MPS and there is a Huge difference, much more predictive. Watch out for your tread limit as well that also has a lot to do with the tail happy mullarky. The best bit of advice I could give anybody is to drive the Zed a lot in the wet and learn about the backend on a quiet roundabout at night. Advanced driver training helps massively - I would recommend Cat Driver training (did a day at Milbrook and it was 5*) but it aint cheap. Also, bear in mind the ESP doesn't kick in under approx 30mph. If your car is under 3 years old get the Bose replaced, I'm actually having mine done today, so I'll keep you all posted. And wait for the dry weather - the handling is superb. And yes ALL of your mates will think your a flash barstool. To rub it in, take them for a spin in the damp nights, 2nd gear slow acceleration, window open - driving past Brannigans in Chester would be a nice start
-
Stuey me ole mucka - they charged you more for that kerb you stole the other day when your 20's took a likeing to them Sorry mate, couldn't help it - p**s take especially after the kerbing incident.... Anyway, when we sorting out that cuppa (and a local meet )

Gutted fella, that's a really sh1t story. Out of interest how was he going to pay? Cash, Bankers Draft or Chaps? Reason I ask is, when I sold my IS200 the guy came on a train from Newcastle with cash £9k on him, I couldn't believe it , phonecalls all seemed genuine, I met him at Chester Station, he looked at the car and said yup ok, he agreed that I could take him to the bank with £9k on him , £2k out of left pocket, £2k out of right, £3k in wallet and £2k from his undercrackers (in an envelope trust me!) paid into my bank direct, bank said yup ok cleared, he dropped me off, gave him the keys and drove off. Still can't believe it.....still the moral to the story is...there are some genuine buyers out there. And I'd do it again (and remember on your selling terms) - cash - straight to bank - deal done (or Chaps and never bankers draft). Oh, and I took a mate as well as I was bricking it thinking of somebody coming to come and look at my car with that amount of cash on them. The guy ran a local mobile shop and looks like he dealed in a lot of cash.
