  1. I'd be gobsmaked if Nissan provide the parts for free, mine started clicking just out of warranty and I argued that the clicking starting while still in warranty, Nissan agreed to stump up 50% of the costs so it only cost me about £380 if I recall. You could try that route but they might want to fit them. But you do get 12months warranty on the driveshafts so might be worth considering.
  2. Glad you got a solution Dave! What about fitting some clear reflectors while the bumper is off as well? BTW, where you getting your Z badges from - I want a set for mine.
  3. Where in Warrington Phil? Might go and have a nosey!
  4. 2 things really:- 1) The way the maf sensor cable is stretched to meet the position of the maf sensor in the intake pipe. 2) The way the box which holds the filter is designed you have to literally wedge it in.
  5. I agree - nice mods fella - wheels are v.nice I didn't realise ESR were open on Saturday's....might be worth a visit sometime.
  6. Absolute bitch to install the K&N Typhoon, as a first time for me I reckon it's taken about 6 hours end to end, getting the scoop in was a real pain. Worth it, but I do question K&N's design.
  7. Fitted scoop today and the problem has been fixed No more stalling when the car is warm. Thanks to everybody for their help.
  8. Add me to this list:- 30k per year on average Bought the car with 29k just over a year ago and now 61k and that's with 4 months out of the country when working in Sveden. I don't care about the cost, I don't have any kids so it's kinda offset. I love the Zed, wouldn't change it for the world, I've had my fair share of oil burners and wanted to feel alive when driving! Based on depreciation I think it's going to stay with me for a long time.... I'm self employed and the fuel is classed as business mileage - I have an excellent accountant
  9. You lot are nuts - planning for Aug / Sept 09 Put me down as tentative but I doubt we will come for a week - maybe a long weekend. Expensive year next year, wedding, sisters wedding abroad, honeymoon, car mods ahem..cough... in no particular order. What's the itiniary for the week, do you drive every day ?
  10. Great pics Sam as always, some of them are amazing, it makes October seem like were driving in height of summer (in Spain!) I also agree that the drive seems to get better...perhaps it's cos most of us are getting to know one another now...
  11. Thanks for your feedback Phil, always helpful. My only question is, surely we would have the same problems when the car is cold for this to be the problem?
  12. Cheers Mark! Don't get me started on clean air filters...what drove me to fit the k&n was my oem filter's state. I took it out to clean last week after a p1 service (which I guess they don't replace) - anyway, it had all sorts of crap in the box ranging from leaves to a fag stump !!! I kid you not!!! Anyway, I've been reading a lot from google on this stalling issue - k&n offer a 10 year warranty on these kits so I'm gonna fit the scoop and if no difference will defo be knocking on k&n's door for them to fix.
  13. Chris - have you got the same kit as mine - the K&N typhoon and have you got the scoop fitted? I might be inclined just to take it to K&N as they're only up the road from me.
  14. Good point 3fiddy! Scoop going in on Saturday. Thanks btw guys - been interesting this thread.
  15. Yeah I was thinking the same thing Mike! Out of interest what is the difference between a K&N Typhoon & a popcharger - do they both have the same noise increase?
  16. Mine is absolutely fine when cold - starts up and revs about 1500rpm as it did before. The problem is only when the car is warm and it sounds as if I have exactly the same problem as Chris. The guy at K&N said that this sounds right (he fitted one to a 350z last year so he told me) and the problem is caused because not enough cold air is getting in as the filter is now inside the box which houses it & it is has the carbone fibre cover. I wonder if it's worth taking the carbon fibre cover off, warm the car up, open the bonnet and start the car up and see if there is a difference - that way there will definitely be more cold air available to the filter - I think I'll try this first. If it doesn't make any difference then I might put the oem back on and see if it's back to normal. BTW the resets didn't make any difference at all, even the ECU reset didn't appear to learn anything.
  17. Just spoken to K&N in Warrington (very helpful actually) they said the cold air intake pipe must be installed as this will help draw in cold air when the car is warm. They said that the intake is feeding too much hot air which doesn't have as much oxygen in it and the cold air feed will assist this. Seems to make sense to me!
  18. Done all the resets ecu reset, throttle reset, accelerator reset, idle air volume reset and still no change. So this weekend will be the scoop & intake install to the K&N filter - watch this space. I may take the MAF out and give it a clean as well.
  19. Thanks Guys! @ Mike - xStric9x - funny you should mention the fuel costs to ESR, I went to Nissan Chorley 2 weeks ago for my P1 BECAUSE CHESTER WERE STILL MORE EXPENSIVE!!! AAARRHHH! £118 P1, £40 fuel = Chester Nissan P1=£380 So that'll be 2 sales they've lost this month - idiots.
  20. Wow, be interested to hear how you get on at ESR - must be costing you a fortune in fuel - hope you get your moneys worth!
  21. Cheers Mike! Remeber the offer for the pads still stands if you wanna try them (I assume best in a couple of weeks when your back).
  22. Hi Guys, Any DTP experts on here that are good at designing a wedding invite? I have a template but am rubbish at drawing names etc. Any help is appreciated - thanks! Thought I'd save myself a few quid as I have a decent printer to print on card.
  23. ecu reset made no change even after some 70 miles in the bala run. Will install the scoop this weekend - thanks all for your help.
  24. OK here's my best selection: Not bad for a beginner
