Wise words Lomoto - and believe me I have learnt this time. Stupid thing is, it's the first car I've done it on, thinking big engine, expensive parts=needed a warranty...well lack of in my case. So yes, if I am the learner for other people to learn then so be it - please learn from my experience

Alex, I've sent you a pm ok

Yup Chris, same as mine. I bought some more fluid from Halfrauds (the same as recommended by Nissan) Will just have to top it up until it get's fixed!

Lookers Chester - bad, crap experience today - when taking my car in for a fault to be looked at, they couldn't see me for 5 mins today, they wanted to rebook me for Wed 4th March. When asked if I could see a mechanic for 5 mins they said I would have to leave the car with them ALL DAY. They were unprofessional & unconcerned, in these hard times they should be falling over backwards to help Oh, and Holdcroft Nissan Chester are now a Fiat dealership Good Sturgess Nissan, Leicester Parks - Ayr Lockwood and Greenwood in Ashton -u-Lyne Nissan in dartford Westover Nissan in Bournemouth Platinum Nissan in Bath Lythgoe's in Bolton Middlehurst Wakefield Nissan (Harratts) Humphris of Oxford Fish Bros, Swindon Barton Townley Barrow in Furness. Same problem as mine tmJAK, they replaced the jubilee clip today but it was still leaking, hopefully it will right itself! Maybe I should try some silicon around the pipe Anway, back on topic for my thread........

I want to make people aware of my warranty direct problem, here's a link to the warranty thread:- http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20067

The b*******s wouldn't honour my claim today for the oil cooler assembly which cools the power steering (it's leaking). I asked them why, they said it's not included in the warranty. I asked them again. they said "they don't tend to go wrong so we don't include them" Anway, my point here is, this was my first claim with them, they were rude & argumentative on the phone. I've only just renewed with them, but over 2 years they have had £800 out of me, let alone the £150 installment I just paid them. And for what I ask, if this is an example of them avoiding to honour warranties, then I am sorry they can f**k right off, I'll save the money and take the risk myself thanks. My bigget bug bear is, I'm not a mechanic, how the hell was I supposed to know that the oil cooler is not covered under warranty (£400 to replace by Nissan by the way). And what else is not covered.....waste of money and I am really p'd off that my first claim happened like this. Policy cancelled today. Watchdog will be informed about this. So guys, be WARNED....be careful what you think you have covered, because I have a feeling Warranty Direct will duck and dive where possible

Nice one CS, That kind of makes sense - Chester quoted £98.87 to fit, but the trouble is they're on back order.
-
No luck their Martin, would have to order from Nissan, apparantly these parts are on back order. Oh well, looks as if the Zed will be sleeping in the garage for a bit.
-
Thanks Martin will call them now. I've checked with Nissan and the parts I need are:- 1) House return power steering part no - 49725CE311 2) 2 x hose clamps part no - 49729AD001

Hi All, Been a crap day, started the car up this morning and there was a strange loud noise coming from the engine, it seemed related to the steering as when i moved the steering wheel the noise seemed to be linked to it. When driving off it was a nightmare, it felt as if the wheel was fighting against me, especially when I steered left, it was fighting back! So, firstly took it to Lookers in Chester who couldn't & WOULDN'T have a look at it today, the earliest they could see me is Wednesday next week, so I'll type a seperate thread on blacklisting this "new" dealership for starters. Then I took the car to the old dealership (Hartwells) which is now a Fiat dealership and they still have the Nissan mechanics there. I asked politely if they could look at the problem, they did and they said there was a leak from one of the pipes from the oil cooler assembly that connects to the power steering. Replaced the clip where the leak is problem better but the pipe is frayed. I noticed the power steering coolant was low, they topped this up and they have temporarily fixed the problem. Great work and were so helpful. Now here comes the problem, Hartwells logged a fault with warranty direct who I am covered with to ask for a replacement Oil Cooler Assembly that connects to the power steering and warranty direct declined the claim saying that this part is not covered under warranty. Cue, another thread.......... So my big problem is, Chester have quoted me £380 all in to replace the oil cooler assembly, Nissan Chorley have quoted me £478 for the parts only!!! And the pipe which is frayed is about £20. Any experts on here that maybe have these parts (Alex - can you help?) Or should I just buy the pipe and fit it myself? Is it easy? Long thread sorry, it could have been longer....there will be 2 more to follow belive me....Lookers Chester and Warranty Direct....w*****s

Just remember to vtec it at least 3 times a week Looks good though mate!

I topped it up neat to the max when cold. I did notice when warm it did rise over max by a couple of mm but nothing to worry about, and to be honest I think it's settled down and now stays on max. (Can't sleep so what else to do at 3.53 in the morning? Might go and apply another coat of tech wax... )

I did a thread on this guys, it's now a sticky at the top of this page. http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17926 AFAIC these rates are set in stone now

I had a run in with a white jc works last year. Was on the A50 and as I accelerated off he kept up with me but didn't edge on me at all. Not really bothered they're 2 different cars, and the Zed looks a million dollars in comparison.

Wrexham/Chester Meet - Saturday 21 March 2009 Midday
NWZ replied to xStric9x's topic in Meets, Shows and Events
My preferance is to go for a drive, say horseshoe pass, have a coffee up the top and a chat....seems a shame if the weather is nice just to sit around and chat.... Went up the 'shoe last week when the weather was dry, it's been ages since I booted the zed, went onto Bala after as well, that windy road to betsy is sublime I didn't pass a single car on that road. -
£350 from warranty direct, seriously! I stuck to the figure without realising £350, was indeed for my 350 Zero excess as well....I did have to negotiate a bit and it was 29th Jan (month end for them and I guess they wanted the sale). 3 months interest free payments as well. And it's like for like Nissan cover as well.
-
You southerners could buy some barrels of the 102 and bring it up for the Bala run..... Would love to know if it makes much difference.
-
Look at this, what a plonker:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2004-AUDI-TT-QUAT ... 240%3A1318 Go, on - make him an offer, I'll start at £1 !!!
-
Wow that was a quick fix Mike! Where did you take it to?
-
Mines done near 67k miles and I've only ever had 2 problems with the car in 18 months, 1) Clicking rear Axle, and 2) Drivers airbag light (reset job). The clicking axle was done under warranty. Otherwise, apart from a few stone chips it still drives like the dogs doobies. And the interior is wearing well. But...I do know what you mean about mileage, it's just a stigma we can't seem to overcome. Plus, personally - I would wait until the weather gets better to buy - the zed is at it's best to drive in Spring / Summer!
-
Ah, so that's what the ESP button is for
-
You should easily be able to get a UK spec for that price, might be a 53 plate with higher miles, but well worth it imo. I drove an auto 350z before I picked mine, I hated it, I didn't feel involved. Not sure about tip though. I went for manual, and that's what the zed was made for.... I just think when coming to sell you might find the JDM / auto a little harder to get rid of as well, or am I wrong?
