Tyres will be coming off, stripped and then resprayed. This guys rents a unit off my neighbour. I have seen his work and it's mint...he repaired a kerbed Bentley continental wheel last week. I've seen my neighbours go-karting helmet resprayed in Gloss black with colour flecks in it, absouletly amazing. Was tempted to get the rays done but think it'll look too bling! Think I'm just being a bit anal about them having the car for 2 days....I think I'll let them have it.

He's gone AWOL proably giving it some beans down some back lanes We want pics!

Thanks mate, I have no idea if it will be left on ramp but they said it will be left in a lockup unit. I just don't like the idea of them having the car for 2 days just for refurbing the wheels.

Hi guys, 2 of my wheels (on passengers side) are being refurbed next week. The garage said they would take the car and would need it for 2 days. They'll refurb the wheels and return the car to me. I'm just a bit worried about them having the car for 2 days and I'd much rather just give them the 2 wheels. My question is, if I buy axle stands would that be sufficient to leave the car supported for 2 days, and maybe use a jack as well for extra support? What would you do?

I've read many helpful threads about respraying rays. Here's my horror story: I kerbed a ray last week, decided to repair it myself and respray the whole wheel as there was some bubling as well, sanded down with wet & dry, sprayed with primer then used Ford stratos silver and lacquered - all looked great. I did spray the centre cap first and did a quick colour check with another alloy and looked good..... When I put the wheel back on the colour is nowhere near not even close to the original colour, I'm not here to flame but Ford Stratos Silver is not the correct colour to match the Rays silver paint. It is definitely darker almost undercoat colour when next to the shiny original silver. I'm a bit p'd off as I'm either going to now have to replace the wheel or pay to get it refurbed professionally.....which is what I should have done in the first place. Pics will follow if I'm in the mood Oh well you live and learn

Could it be the warm weather and maybe the air is thin? I'll try mine tomorrow bud and let you know.

As above plus check tyre tread and make sure they are above 5mm each. A full set is around £400 on average. And 3 keys ! Full set of discs & pads £600 + but can be around £1000 for a dealer !!!! So check them lips

Been an interesting thread Martin! Looks like there's hope for flashing the ECU on the zed..... When Phil from ESR picked his GTR up the importer in Warrington received an email from Nissan in Japan with an updated version of the ECU software and they updated the ECU there and then! Would be brilliant if this becomes available on the 350z.

A regretful sale but as I'm out of work and I do need money for wedding in a few weeks. For sale is my TYYN ii Kaiser smartphone. It pairs 100% with the 350z bluetooth dongle. It's in perfect working order no scratches on the screen. Comes with power charger, car charger & I'll include the magnet I bought which I've mounted on the centre cubby on the zed. I hid all the wiring from the rear charger and you can do the same - it looks really neat! PM me your offers. Postage around £7 with insurance. These things retail around £400 still!
