Here's another point. How many people have gone out to purchase or look at a car with a particular budget in mind, test drive a car, and the budget goes to the wind. Any good dealer should realise this. But obviously they should have the knack for knowing if someone is just there for a joy ride.

Yes, it is ! And, I have always been very careful of parking any car that I have owned. But, there are too many inconsiderate motorists in this overcrowded country. Wish i was over there [ N.Z.] Unfortunately we have our fair share of inconsiderate people that don't give a damn about others cars. Less cars though, but not on a per capita basis. Still much happier driving over here than there.
