  1. Pics? 615hp / 625lb-ft. Does the job Looks amazing, just indulge me, running costs excluding mods/depreciation, would £2-3k a year cover it?? If I owned that I would take it everywhere, so much nicer/special than some more 'common' German sports car you see almost everywhere
  2. This thread has reminded me to properly start planning our trip to Belgium/Switzerland via the Belgium GP Day 1-2 (Saturday - Sunday) UK to Zurich - 735 miles : 12hrs. 16th August: Reims - 1 Night. 17th Zurich - 1 night. Day 3-4 (Monday-Tuesday): Zurich to Pass - 160 miles: 4hs. 18-19th: Pass (Sargen) - 2 nights. Day 5 (Wednesday): Sargen to Stuttgart - 200 miles: 3hr. 20th: Stuttgart - 1 Night Day 6-7-8 (Thursday / Friday / Saturday): Stuttgart to Spa - 264 miles: 4hrs 21-23st: Spa - 3 Nights Day 8-9 (Sunday - Monday): Spa to Brussels - 90 miles: 1hr 24-25th: Brussels - 2Night Brussels to UK - 340mils: 6hr 26th UK. Total miles: 1800, 35 mpg, £1.50/L. £350 (The 335i is much more economical than the Z on a long run ) 9 Nights Hotels £1200. 10 Days - food, £700 Tunnel costs - £140 So all £2500 should cover it....Cannot wait, hopefully by the time the F1 circus gets to Spa the cars will actually be working
  3. Not sure I could ever bring my self to spend £40k on any car, but I cannot see how you can find a GTR not engaging to drive. I think your over analysing things. Personally I find it hard to work out just what a car is really like till I've owned it for 6 months+. These days I don't even bother test driving cars because I just find I learn so little from a test drive. The first time I drove my current car was after I had paid for it in full and leaving the show room. Just save up the money and get the GTR I doubt your be disappointed Oh apparently the M135i is on TopGear this weekend and it set a lap time that's identical to the lap time of the current E92 M3....quite how a 320 BHP hot hatch with some M badges stuck on can equal the laptime of a car with 100 BHP extra, and a proper LSD I'm not sure!!
  4. I went all the way to Iceland and didn't get to see them....now they are here and still haven't got to see them

    Next car?

Looks lovely, was behind on the other day, as much as the current GTR is a monster the R32/33/34s just look right. Would love a R34 GTR one day.
  6. Had my first Engine Management Light on the my 335i last night. Turned the boost up and at 6krpm, misfire on cylinder 4, easily replicable. Turn the boost down and no issues....likely to be just a coil pack (which I'll replace this weekend), but could be as costly as new injector or low pressure fuel pump (have just replaced my high pressure fuel pump), or due to carbon build up (same issue that effect the prev gen of RS4s). Yes the 135/335s have great tuning potential but are precious/delicate machines, I really wouldn't recommend getting one if your expecting the reliability of the Z. Yes for tuning your get more BHP per £££ compared to the Z but if your doing properly and want the engine to last it's far from cheap....it's not just just a case of sticking on a tune, you have to consider all the other bits too which soon add to the cost very quickly.
  7. I wouldn't say a 335 or 135 is either, but their on the OPs list regardless. Besides, he didn't ask for better! not in standard form anyway, I'm thinking 135i modded should be better fun than 335i, bit of turbo tuning and LSD should see closer to 400bhp and improved handling. its looking like either 135i modded or standard e46 m3 cab then... Just make sure you have plenty of £££ saved up for repairs...my 335i has done less than 50K, and just over 5 years old, in the last 12 months I've spent about £1.5K in repairs (Auto transmission leak needing new transmission oil, new fuel pump and new water pump), and thats running the car in stock trim 90% of the time. Its not unusual for a N54 cars to start throwing up all kinds of engine management problems once you start upping the boost, and than things get really expensive you have to start replacing injectors etc....and don't forget the N54 didn't come with enough standard cooling stock, so if your going to up the boost your need a bigger oil cooler (which I'm in the process of having fitted). Don't get me wrong my 335i is by far the best car I've owned, superior to my old 350Z in nearly every way and as with my current car in its current form I cannot think of anything I would replace it with. Mine is now quick (too quick really when running an aggressive map, roughly 380bhp), comfortable (am running after market suspension, the stock M sport stuff is shocking), handle well (again had to change the stock ARBs, and add a LSD), and relatively economical. The fact it looks like a 320D is a bonus for me......but if I added up all the money I've spent on mods+original car I could have very easily bought a M3 (but that was never a option for me)....If fact the rubbish reliability of the 335 has pretty much put me/my family off buying another German car ever again, I'm clearly going to keep the 335 long long time yet, but when the time comes I'll be PX it for a nice reliable Japanese car .
  8. BMW must have one of the ugliest range of cars on sale today...but as long as it's got a BMW badge on it'll sell.
  9. Hope it works out...never realised how expensive vet bills can get......cannot imagine how much OP/Hosptial costs will be on the NHS if the government gets their way and push privitisation through

    BMW M6 V10

Just do it....you know you want to...anyways theres no such thing as too much power
  11. My 350Z only has one key and that was bought from a Nissan dealer (I was too excited to notice at the time of picking up the car ). So when I PX the car I also only had 1 key. The dealer doing the PX asked for the second key, I said I didn't have it, he shrugged his shoulders, that was the end of it.... As suggested above, go back to the dealership and request they take the 370Z back since clearly the second key issue is such an important part of deal

    M3 e90

I think this is true for all the 'premium' German cars. My 335 is currently with CS waiting for a new electric water pump and high pressure fuel pump...thats on a 6 year old car thats done less than 50K and serviced above/beyond BMW's recommended servicing schedule....Still its a great car though and I love it, but eventually when the time comes to replace it I will definatly be going back to a Jap car, hopefully by than Infiniti or Lexus would have some decent models to go up against what the Germans can offer.

    M3 e90

My mate has a E90 M3, the thing sounds amazing and drives really well. You cannot really go wrong with them
  14. That bike rack looks awfully complicated to fit....you need to get a car where you can fit a proper bike rack
  15. Just to help the sale alone....its a great bit of kit. Set up it in the middle of the room, turn the light down and it really does make the game that bit more real.... Sadly these days I rarely get to turn on the Xbox let alone play games on it
  16. Boot lid looks fab....so much nicer than stock. Very jealousy .... one day i'll own one..... but unless i sudden find a whole lump of £££ its not going to be for another few decades though me thinks
  17. I'm trying to finalise details for our first road trip to Europe. Planning on driving down to Zurich via stop in France, spend a day or two doing the famous Alpine passes, than up through the Black Forest to Belgium for the GP, and than smash it home from there.....cannot wait
  18. You cannot compare modified to stock... Cannot the GTR hit 600-700+ BHP modified?? Even my 335 can be tuned to 600+ BHP via hybrid turbos, that doesn't make it better than a stock 911 turbo etc. If you want a true comparison compare modified with modified.
  19. PX mine 2.5 years ago....still occasionally miss the Z
  20. Unless these 'experts' have direct access to scans and MS all their views are purely conjecture. Contrary to popular belief medicine is no a science, far from it, virtually every patient behaves different, show the same scan/information about the same patient to three different doctors and the chances are your get three different opinions, sometime very contrasting opinions. When it come to neuro-surgery it really is a case of wait and see, I doubt very much any of surgeons/doctors looking after MS can say with any confidence how things will go, which is why they are not commenting. I've lost count the number of times I've told relatives their family member is literally hours from death door, only to find the same patient recovers and a few weeks later walk out of hospital, granted thats rare but it happens more often than you think....stick with waiting from news from the guys looking after MS, not random conjecture.
  21. Canon or Nikon there's no real difference, though the likes of Olympus and Pentax is now making some very nice cameras which give better value for money on the body side. Just remember what ever body/lens you buy at the start essentially comits you to that brand for life (unless at some point you sell the whole lot and start again). I've been through a few third party lens/nifty fifty but have now ended up with just one main Canon lens which stays on my camera 90% of time, it's the Canon 17-55 f2.8 IS, pricey but worth every penny. Still cannot afford any L lens but if you want the best quality stick to OEM manufactures, though clearly you have to pay £££ extra quality. I haven't got any L lens but have seen RAW files of photos taken with L lenses and full frame...the quality/clarity is simply unbelievable!! Oh don't be afraid to buy second hand, my entire collection of camera gear is second hand. Camera equipment rarely if ever break so you really don't needs to worry about warranties and your save 50% compared to buying new. But a good photographer with a iPhone will get better photos than someone who hasn't got a clue with a DSLR. Things like shallow depth of field are great but it means you have to be pin-point accurate with focusing, and all the stuff about micro adjusting the focus to avoid back focusing etc I just don't understand .... But it's all good fun when you realise even some one who is abit clueless (like my self) with £500 worth of second hand camera gear (Canon 550D and 70-300 Canon IS lens) can get shots like this .
  22. I looked at the Scirocco R as a Z replacement a few years ago, couldn't get too excited about it in the end. Not that practical or quick, and pretty expensive to buy. A Golf R is more practical and just as quick but neither are upgrades from the Z. For fast practical autos your choices are pretty limited to Bimmers, Audis, Mercs Though the new Lexus IS 350 is suppose to be a M3 rival, but it's not exactly cheap.
