Maserati Granturismo, Aston Vantage or ...... Decision P8
gangzoom replied to Sam Mcgoo's topic in Other Cars
Yeah I did see that, very good price. Is that the guy you do the detailing for? I've heard nothing but praise for him on the Maserati forum. I'm not sure I could live with that RED interior though, its very bright! It looks cool from outside the car, the red/black but not sure it wouldn't be too much when sitting in there. To be fair, I haven't seen the red in the flesh though. He also has a 4.7GTS that I like the look of for just under 45k. I really need to speak to him, as everybody says hes a very helpful guy whether your purchasing from him or not. One of the best looking cars around for the same price as a 320d....When your driving you cannot see the colour of the seats anyways -
Really?? 5 years of medical school - 20:1 competition ratio, minimal AAB at A levels to even apply - Most applicants have AAA grades. £9K per year of tuition fees for 5-6 years - £35k if you go private. 2 years of foundation training been paid £22k basic salary. 3-5 years of GP training. Than work another 1-2 years before you can think about been a GP partner....I know the NHS can be slow, but 12 years I've been working for 10 years (15 if you include medical school) now and still a 'junior doctor', and will be for another 3 years atleast.....Oh and if Jermey Hunt gets his way, apparently I can forget counting Saturday's as my own time because my 'routine' working hours will now go from 8:45am Monday to 8.45pm Saturday. Cheers Jermey for at least letting me have Sunday off work - Maybe I should just put a tent up in the hospital car park, who need to have a life outside of work anyway - It's not like I've spent the last 4 Xmas days in hosptial - Oh wait I did .

Absolutely the only real way to fund a health service is to have an insurance based policy, or a pay as you go method. The NHS currently offered the most EFFICENT healthcare model in the entire world, and it's still going broke. A fully privatised NHS is what the Tory government is going for, but you better start making sure your company can get you a decent health care plan - US style. Arfter all most Tory voters will be able to afford private health care insurance. The funding for the NHS currently HAS to be population based - As in the people who are we'll help to pay for care of people who are unwell. The majority of people in hosptial are elderly, longterm sick and retired, there is no way on earth these people can afford health insurance. The US system has some of the worst disparity in health care access for the poor Vs rich any where in the world. If the people in the UK turly want a private insurance based healthcare system than great, lets scrap the NHS and copy the Americans - But I still think the fact the poorest people in the UK get the same access to healthcare as the richest is something quite amazing and worth hanging on to.

GPs will charge for any kind of insurance work. Their NHS contract pays them to do NHS work, doing insurance form stuff isn't and SHOULDNT be NHS work. You can argue about what should/shouldn't be NHS work, but IVF, cancer therapy, elective surgery are all higher up on the priority list than insurance forms. I would though go and speak to them in person to try and them to do on the basis that it's causing you lots of stress. I'm not a GP. But certainly in hospital we're quite happy to sort out thing for people even though we aren't always been paid for it (Jermey Hunt is trying very hard to stop this). We're are human beings at the end of the day, and I would hope if you explain your situation in person than someone will try to get things done quicker.... But threatening with legal action....Thats isn't going to motivate anyone to do anything for you. You can make a scene at the reception desk, but your looks pretty stupid doing it in front of a waiting full of people who are actually ill.

Not sure I would have reacted fast enough to prevent this accident, especially when having to keep an eye on the traffic on the right...

What a race, Rosberg's mistake pretty much summed up why his simply will never be world champion - It's not the first time his cracked under pressure. Hamilton deserved to win - Next year is shaping nicely, the Ferrari is looking better every race. Though the sulking RedBull team is trying to get the whole engine format changed again just because they haven't been wining the last two years.....and they got Bernie on their side, so who knows what's going to happen to engine rules next year.

What sort of percentage are you complete on the game then now? Feel like I've put in days already and I'm only at 8%!. I'll confirm later but I think it's around 25%. Completed a few of the side missions too. To be honest it sounds like you play the same was as me, sneak and none lethal takedowns. Love disabling stuff as I go too. I was enjoying taking missions slow approach, no spoilers, but your hit a certain point where you just want/need to get through the main story missions ASAP!!! Only playing it on a Xbox360, but honestly haven't played a game like it before. Can see why so many reviewers have scored it 10/10.

Auto-pilot, insane mode, Falcon wings door are all just a side show. The reason investors keep on pouring money into Tesla is because of the promised Model 3, and been able to deliver close to 500,000 a cars by 2020. Currently they are delivering 50,000, last year 35,000. If there is any hint the Gigafactory isn't going to be able to deliver the kind of ecomics of scale predicted, the investors will pull out quicker than rats off a sinking ship. It's a massive gamble, the output of the factory is predicted to be greater than ALL the other battery factories in the ENTIRE world combined. This is something no one has done before, not even Panasonic, the guys who current supply Tesla with their battery cells. Musk is either going to realise his dream of dominating the car market or everything is going to collapse around him. Tesla nearly ran of cash before, and it may do again, his even bought up Tesla shares recently to show his putting his money where his mouth is. What ever you think of the man his got balls, there is/was no need for him to risk all with Tesla and Space X after he got rid of PayPal. He could have lived a life of luxury doing bugger all with the cash he generated in IT, but instead is doing what his doing. Ford revolutionised car production with the Model T, Tesla is aiming to do the same with the Model S. So we'll wait and see, but time is ticking and by next year this time we'll have a much better idea just how/if Tesla can pull off what they claim....I think it's 50/50, you have be insane to gamble on such a scale with such high stakes, which is why I'm not a city banker
-
If you guys really want to see Tesla go down its not AutoPilot or the price which is an issue.... Its the Gigafactory they are building in Reo. This is what's sucking up money like a hungry hippo. When complete it'll be the biggest battery factory in the world. The aim is to drive down battery costs by at least another 30%,.... BUT no one has ever made batteries on such a scale, and by Tesla + Panasonics own admission they have no idea if it's going to work. It's hell of a gamble, much more so than autopilot/falcon doors etc, and why I haven't bought Tesla shares. We'll know in 12 months time when the 'pilot ' factory starts producing battery packs.
-
You do realise there is currently a 20k long waiting list for the Model X - £70k starting price, and the Model S UK waiting time is nearly 4 month - on a £50-100K car. The £30K Model 3 pre-orders are going to start in March/April 2016. I suspect Tesla will have no problems filling the orders books when that is announced
-
Americans are stupid enough to drive the things with hands off the wheel even though the guidance is clearly NOT to take your hands off the wheel.... People are stupid, what can you do?? UK autopilot coming next few weeks, and I've got a test drive in a 70D lined up once the UK update arrvies....I'll let you guys know where and when, just in case you want to keep off the roads at that point...Yes I'm aiming to join the stupid club too
-
It's hardly the worst 'problem' to face an auto maker recently...If you want to see proper unreliablity go and buy a BMW, I should know I kept one for 4 years I've nearly got enough saved up now for a 70S, but the Leaf is still on PCP for over another 12 months+. Might even have enough for a P90D (or what ever is coming next)....So cannot really complain about not having to wait another 12 months before been able to order a £55k car....Just another stupid first world problem
-
Good luck with the move My parent emigrated to the UK some 25 years ago. Now me and the wife are thinking about leaving the UK for somewhere else, probably in the next 5 - 10 years or so. It's a small world, and life is too short to waste been stuck in one place
-
If your just chasing BHP, you cannot beat force induction. There's a chap running a 335d with hybrid turbos on E90post, remapped to 416bhp and 600ft-ibs of torque...and I have a feeling these are taken as 'at the wheels' bhp, so the BHP/Torque 'at the crank' must be even more crazy ....He also reports 45mpg+ on a M way run. http://www.e90post.c...d.php?t=1119594

Two of my mates met people on matched.com and are now married. When I met with my wife I was chasing after three girls at the same time, she was the only one out of the lot who had no interest in the Z, and thought it was a pointless waste of money.....That was enough to make me realise she was the 'one'. Now I've just convinced her to use some of 'our' savings to buy a car nearly three times the cost of the Z, so happy days

Cannot argue without your logic. As a weekend toy that spends 99% of its life in a garage and 1% been thrashed around a B road th DC2 is fab. I want another one, and at £5K they are pretty damn cheap. Almost pocket change compared to other cars I'm considering next. But if it's your only car....Even when I was in my 20's I couldn't live with one day in day out. 10 years of getting old, and now not even having a car with a manual gear box on the driveway, I suspect I'll last 30 minutes in a DC2 these days before parking it up
-
Im as much of an ITR fan as anyone .......... but SRSLY? Ive driven a DC2 and no, just no. But if you want noise, a good manual box, having to keep the engine in the right rev range, no-mod cons, no TC/electronic intervention, light weight, loud exhaust, immense feedback from the steering, all the mid-corner on throttle adjustably you want thanks to the LSD, the DC2 ticks all those boxes.....But most of those things are NOT what you want when just going about doing your daily commute - which is what I use all my cars for 95% of the time, hence despite how good/engaging the DC2 was to drive I sold mine after less than 10 months, and I was the 5th owner in as many years!!
-
I had a UK DC2 way back. Amazing car, would love to run one again as a weekend toy. Mine has no air-con or radio. Loved trashing it on a Sunday morning, but when stuck in a traffic jam on the M25 in the middle of summer with temp close to 30....Not so great. But if your using it for the track you cannot go wrong. The EVO review sum them up well, as good to drive as any RS 911. They are pretty much deprecation free these days too! I'll happy live with one of these in the garage and the Leaf for everything else, but sadly my wife has vetoed that plan on many occasions http://www.evo.co.uk/group-tests/14231/honda-integra-honda-integra-type-r

I have to say I love the way my wife's IS300H looks, especially the rear 3/4 view. handling wise it's better than my old E90 335i stock, and seeing some stupid mpg readings on both long and short runs. It's a shame we don't get the sporty version here. http://www.roadandtr...n-65-3-roa1013/ Not sure about the RC chassis though, never driven one, but the reviews of the RCF aren't exactly flattering
-
^^ The pricing is pretty mental, the top spec RC300H in Premier spec with adaptive cruise control is going to be £43K. We paid nearly £10K less for our IS300H Premier with the same engine, same amount of toys, and more doors (but still weights 20kg less).....But I suspect Lexus aren't really chasing after mass market sales with these cars .
-
A few people on here mentioned they liked the look for the RC-F. Lexus has just announced the RC-300h (220bhp - hybrid, 0-60 8 seconds) and RC-200t (240bhp - 4 cylinder turbo, 0-60, 7.5 seconds) is coming to the UK. Essentially same chassis as the RC-F, but with the engine set-up from the current generation IS saloon. Pricing wise they aren't exactly value for money, list price is £5K more than the IS - The IS can also be had for about 10-15% off list price from the right dealers. RC300H luxury £34,995 RC200T f sport £36,200 Still an alternative to the German barges.....and may interest some. They are loaded with kit, and in a few years will be decent value. http://www.rrg-group...-lexus-rc-coupe

I'm sure your love the V8 engine, but 22 mpg is very good!! My mate averaged 15mpg when he had his...But a lot of that was spent sitting in traffic jams whilst commuting to work
-
I've knocked these out. The inner borders aren't perfect, but I haven't really got time to play with the details - In other words, not as easy as I thought. I've got them in PDF format if you want, which you can scale - PM me your email address. The difference between the two is fonts - incase you cannot tell
-
As mentioned already you need to use a program like Illustrator to turn the image into a vector format. This will than allow you scale the image however it looks quite easy to do. If I get time later today I'll see if I can do it quickly for you
-
Nope. It's built with the price I'm paying. I did a PCP for two years and then in 2017 there's going to be a range of 200 miles. Perfect time to change. Is 200 miles of range EPA rating or European rating. I'm very close to putting down a £4K deposit on the Model X for 2017 delivery, but if a 200 mile EPA range Leaf is coming I might hold off and wait. I know my bank account will be much happier if I go for another Leaf
