  1. I like the illuminated sills - not seen those before! Suppliers???
  2. Thanks for coming clean Paul!! To others considering it I would recommend a DIY job with the headlights if you have a suitable space. There were fiddly bits but it was fairly basic with no specialist tools needed. As well as the satisfaction of completing the job it was a good learning experience and gives an insight into other future jobs that may involve removing the bumper. Number 1 good idea?? Jacking the car up creates more space in the wheel arch area as well as underneath the bumper. Number 1 bad idea?? Trying to do it outside at night!

    Bonnet vents

I'm looking to have a bonnet with a couple of vents/inlets to give a bit more aggressive look. Don't want carbon or to spend loads importing one. Anyone seen any grills that could be inserted into the original bonnet?
  4. Either Phil employs child labour or he pays his staff so little they can't afford to eat!!! There was no way I could get my hand down the minute gap created when I took off the top headlight bolt . Whether that's a JDM thing or not I don't know. It was much easier to peel back the wheel arch liner and access it from there with pliers. Job done now and looks so much better - thanks Mike.
  5. Well I already had one japanese import that's given me so much pleasure I thought I'd bring another over - I'll bring her along to the Thurrock meet!
  6. Was't sure whether that was legal or not - damn, wish I had known beforehand! Don't think I can face removing the bumper again for a while!!
  7. Now fitted the lights featured at the start of this thread! Removing bumper not too painless thanks to guidance via this site - still quite a fiddly job, doesn't appear that Nissan put much effort into easy removal. Took the opportunity to replace the horns with better sounding ones as well as changing the reflectors. Except I forgot to put the new ones in when the bumper was off!! Couldn't bring myself to remove the bumper again and managed to fit them in about 30 minutes from underneath. Lights look great - thanks Paul for quick turnaround - now trying to see which rear lights would best complement them. Will either be smoked or chrome Lexus style.
  8. I'd prefer earlier but don't want to be so early that Martin will miss out, how about 5pm - 7pm, pitch up when you can?
  9. Thanks for that - downloaded a converter too.
  10. Anyone recommend an easy way/free add-on for saving youtube videos?
  11. Right then - removed the bumper!! Wasn't too horrendous thanks to the advice received plus use of the search facility. Took the opportunity to fit upgraded horns, remove the reflectors for later replacement and use the sticky tape supplied with the Ings front spoiler I fitted recently. Below are pictures of my lights - couldn't see any sign of the HDI 'extras' so presume they were removed and not changed back unless anyone can say otherwise??
  12. Thanks Marzman, pm sent! Hopefully we've started something big!! Who is going to be next!?
  13. Hi Marzman, as I want the reflectors I will offer you a pair of free entry tickets to Alton Towers!!
  14. The only way I am going to be able to tell is to take headlamp off which I am going to have to do anyway. I've got to remove the bumper anyway to fit different horns, is it straightforward or are there issues with airbag detectors?
  15. Ive now got a permanent image of a headlight etched onto my retina as a result of staring into the lens trying to see if it starts off blue!! I think mine does but it's not that blue at first. I don't understand why the bulbs would be changed as part of the SVA, no mention was made of that when I had mine done over here.
  16. Thanks Martin - didn't realise you had the same!!!!
  17. I need a set of these, how about an ice cube? I'm serious about wanting them!
  18. Marzman If DJ does not take your reflectors could I relieve you of them??

    Battery

Thanks Digsy - was also hoping for any other JDM owners to confirm (or deny) the possible crap battery issue.

    Battery

Noticed over the last week or so that the battery was giving less umph(!) when starting. Today it wouldn't turn over at all. As far as I can see there is nothing on to drain it and the charging dial has been showing just over the 12v mark. It is an 05 import and I have read somewhere here that the Jap battery is not good. Anyone else with similar poor battery experience or is it more likely to be down to another issue? Will a UK 350Z battery fit as I saw that the posts are different sizes on mine?

    under spoiler seal

Thanks Phil, may well be seeking a quote for the sideskirts and rear underspoiler soon!
  22. Direct Line wouldn't quote for my JDM. I used GoCompare.com and ended up with a Norwich Union policy via a broker , which was significantly cheaper than anyone else. Discount for doing it all online as well. Give it a try as it saves masses of time ringing round and keep having to go through providing the same info over and over again.
