  1. I've read a few roumers of differences in suspension on early JDMs compared to UK setup and the later 2004+ JDMs. What actually are the differences? Springs? Shocks? arbs? And what would you need to change on an early car to make it work well with something like the Cobb setup? Steve All the same up till mid 2004. After that, rear spring rate went up and valving was changed as well. Hotchkis was developed around the pre mid 2004 cars, Cobb was developed for the later cars. In 2007 I believe front swaybar diameter increased as well, though still smaller than Hotchkis and the Cobb set. This is why the NISMO sways and NISMO spring/shock is a nice setup for earlier cars, but a lot of money for not much improvement on later models
  2. Hi Matt - same part, different nomenclature
  3. The Cobb setup (good for 2004.5 and up cars) or the Hotchkis setup (good for 2002-2004 models) are a great value/dollar and among the most popular setups we sell. Addresses the main points but giving you front/rear adjustable swaybars (dramatically reduces body lean, improves turn in response) and giving you a slightly lower stance, while still keeping the car comfortable. There are members here with the Hotchkis setups that we have sent them - might be able to search and find reviews. The Cobb setup only came out earlier this year (is made by Hotchkis for Cobb), so reviews would be more easily found on the my350z.com Both are great kits for the money
  4. that's not worth a potential 1600 quid savings though? I asked Nissan today (our local dealer which sells more Z's than just about anyone on the east coast of the US) - they have never once had to replace a Z ecu. That should tell you something
  5. the ecu's on these cars simply do not go bad unless you drowned it in water do not reset the ecu!! doing so will clear the code that is stored...you need to know this to point you in the right direction that being said, mass air sensor, crank sensor are the 2 things that come to mind.
  6. well to be fair, each continent has their own distributor the one for the US is Versus Racing....makers of every conceivable ill fitting knock off POS body kit you can think of. They will not take credit cards at all...not even from a dealer. Strictly money order or western union. If it doesnt fit (as I've had with a couple Chargespeed trunks for Evo) - tough luck is their answer. Not a firm I can recommend, and once I had to eat the cost of a second trunk, I threw out their # And since they already have your cash, you cant get it back http://www.chargespeed.com/english/dist ... butors.htm for a list of dealers
  7. not really the case actually - in fact I'd bet there is a better chance the kit is in stock in the US vs Japan as a matter of fact that being said we stopped offering Chargespeed products a long time ago because the distributor here are impossible to deal with....I refuse to give them a penny
  8. there are lots of pieces that make up the full front bumper kit, so we package them all together NISMO V3 Front Bumper Kit 350Z (includes front underpanel/diffuser, foam energy absorber, plate frame, front Nissan badge, mesh, and all required hardware) - $1090 + shipping
  9. there is no US NISMO bumper, only a front lip - unless you mean the one that comes on the NISMO edition (confused yet?), which is a urethane blend V1 - original NISMO bumper, genuine one only comes FRP. Aerosync version which we've supplied to many members here (I had this on my own car too) is urethane Aerosync shown: V2 - FRP only for the genuine ones. The "blended" versions I;ve seen here (urethane and FRP blends) had fitment that I would not consider satisfactory. V3 - newest version (only genuine, made of urethane) then there is the US NISMO lip, which they make for the 2003-2005 as well as 2006-2008 (which have slightly different dimensions so requires a specific lip). This attaches directly to the bottom of the stock bumper
  10. charcoal canister - I forget if it needs to be relocated, but any competant shop should have no problem
  11. if you are going to change the lights, best bet is doing the 2006 + ones. These are not inexpensive, but they are dramatically better than the 2003-2005 ones which are not even a projector
  12. I've got a bunch of spares Stew if you end up not finding any locally...just pay the postage and they are yours
  13. fwiw I'd prefer not having my own section....to break it down by the "type" of part is more desirable, and easier for members to find what they are looking for without having to click each individual vendor section
  14. our prayers are with you and your family
  15. Eibach works well, or Ichiba as well (I use them on my car as I prefer spacers that have longer studs, vs ones that bolt on)
  16. Correct they were sold to pilot, of cheap fog light kit "fame" lolol
  17. eh, not true actually they were bought out, and all the 'new' inventory now comes from China DC as you once knew it not longer exists. The new exhaust for the Z is rubbish BTW, wouldn't bother with it. Typical made in China dreck
  18. Don't forget the Ultimate Racing units which we swear by Offered in both ceramic and metal substrate versions Metal - flows a bit better (nearly as good as test pipes), a bit more noise, great for forced induction as the core can withstand tons of heat $655 shipped Ceramic - a bit quieter (the ceramic core acting as a better sound insulator vs metal core), and perfect for NA use. I ran these on my car for nearly 4 years without incident - $559 shipped
  19. it really is a very well sorted car - belongs to a long time customer and friend of ours and he happens to be a really nice guy too, which makes all the better!
